@rentnation It all comes down to the question whether China sells the DF21 system to North Korea. Personally, I don't think they'd sell it to anyone, but if they did, it would mean that no carriers could come even close to North Korea. Then again it's highly unlikely, but the unthinkable happens more often than we know it.

North Korea is too volatile and out of control to be handed that kind of power. The last thing China wants is another war in Korea involving the US.

China is trying to make Kim Jong Il abandon his father's Juche -ideology, so that North Korea could start to develop (they're already constructing an free economic zone to north korea)

I was climbing a mountain in the area 2 days before the clash, the ROK Navy fired warning shots at a boat (maybe the same one) while I was hiking. Although some people might turn around, I started to get to a good viewpoint as fast as possible. I saw 4 ROK vessels, but no action........that came 2 days later.
