Witnessed the birth of Dark Samus.. i like A. because well if youve played MP2 then you See Dark Samus doesnt have Eyes. Just a Skull with hollowed out holes that glow white from the phazon radiation. and yes it may be the mother brain cause in the ending you see all of its veins and such. when Dark Samus isnt wearing the phazon suit. you see veins.TY!

The eye shown in the ending here is also in the final fight against Dark Samus in Metroid Prime 2. It's on the back of its hand, seen after you beat it. The hand shown here looks nothing like an Ing, a species only found in Dark Aether anyway. And Mother Brain isn't even referenced through the Prime subseries.

@comicfire Very Valid Point About The Ing. But both Dark Samus and Samus Aran's suits are very alike since Dark Samus was born from the substance pulled off of Aran's Phazon Suit... Well, maybe your right. lol. Eh, just a tiny obersavation. the "Eye" your talking about. is actually a tiny swirl that resembles the swirl on Aran's hand as well ^_^ Dark Samus's addiction to Phazon is because of the Phazon Suit She/He was born from.

I never liked how they made her look in this game... I prefer her appearance in the later games. Also, I just noticed something... Pause @ 0:23 and look at her armor... It's slightly disproportionate. Assuming a normal human anatomy, there's no way her shoulders can be broad enough for her arms to reach into the arms of her suit. Looks more like they'd be held up flat against her sides inside the torso piece.

personally I like how samus looks here. Much more plain and what you would expect from a deadly bounty hunter. They made her look like a prepped up skank in the newer games. If they returned her to how she looks here, added some darker shading to her face and removed those overly pouty lips, it would be near perfect.

so right, basically the last boss of the first metroid prime is the mother brain, after samus 'kills' the mother brain she loses her phazon suit and runs off.

Okay and as we see in this movie here there is a mysterious hand coming out of the phazon and we assume this is dark samus, is it me or does it seem like the mother brain has taken over the phazon suit and become dark samus??

May sound a bit odd but thats what Ive always thought, dark samus is the mother brain!!

Its not mother Brain its metroid Prime. So its really a kind of mutant metroid that absorbs the phazon suit, and later becomes dark samus.

@herooftime2005 The way I see it. Since when you are fighting the essence of metroid prime you use phazon puddles. It seems the suit is absorbing a lot of phazon. When the suit was taken into Metroid prime's essence. The suit seemed to make all the phazon cluster into one single body, AKA the phazon suit.

@hsrsfdhe Metroid Prime could theoretically be considered the "MB" of Prime, but Mother Brain is an entity all her own. Metroid Prime was just a Metroid that survived tons of Phazon radiation mutation, whereas Mother Brain, to my knowledge, is an unrelated creature capable of telepathic communication with Metroids and other creatures. Dark Samus was a result of unstable Phazon-irradiated Metroid genes combined with the Phazon suit and apparently a bit of Samus' DNA as well.

@Solais1019 Metroid Prime is, as you said, a result of various Phazon exposures. Mother Brain was an AI Machine developed by the Chozo for the planetary defense in their homeworld, Zebes. Knowing of the pirates' interests on Zebes, Mother Brain developed a conscience of her own, turninf back on the Chozo and fooling Ridley on helping her in return of what they wanted of Zebes (some kind of mineral if i'm not wrong, which is the same that they were looking for in Samus' homeworld.)

@hsrsfdhe As far as I know the core was a leviathan and metroid prime was it's guardian. as in a Leviathan like the ones in metroid prime 3. They would take something over to protect them as they corrupted the planet but they were dying at the same time. So I am guessing dark samus is really the conciousness of a leviathan.

At this point in the storyline, Mother Brain has not yet been destroyed, but regardless, it has nothing to do with the prime series. Essentially, Dark Samus is the Metroid Prime, which has taken over Samus' phazon suit, and snagged a little bit of her DNA as well so that it can produce humanoid qualities.
