Well, this isn't the entire piece, which annoys me. It's more of one of those arrangements where it just has that one part but ignores the rest (bad!!!!)..
Find the original and listen to it! It is much better.
As for the conductor, he is amazingly unprofessional. When the handkerchief came out, I was like I've never seen this before and never do I ever want to see it ever again at any performance during a piece like that. It's already an arrangement, don't kill it any further.
I just uploaded a video I recorded of music from the Nutcracker played on piano by 20th century modern classical music composer, Professor Walter S. Hartley. It was his last selection at his final piano recital before he retired from teaching at SUNY Fredonia, March 1, 2000, Adams Art Gallery, Dunkirk, NY.
The cellist lady could not help smiling at 3:03 seeing the conductor wipe his face. When I lived in Tokyo, I often went to their concerts. Very good orchestra.
Tchaikovsky is the shiz.. I love his stuff. He loved writing great parts for the brass. I wish the recording was a bit better but this is nice anyways.
That was an excellent performance. What orchestra is this? I am confused. Is it proper etiquette for the conductor to wipe his face during a song? He did at 2:53. The NSO will be performing excerpts from this piece this coming Thursday at Wolf Trap. Thanks
was ripping a classical cd last night and this song was on it but the cd was too scratched. i can't believe it took hours for it to rip and only two songs out of 20 didn't rip! its a nightmare ripping cds that are scratched and sometimes the most scratched cds actually rip!
