The best weapon for a normal citizen who have never fire a gun would be a handgun( 9mm, .45 , even .22) , a shotgun( .12, .410. .20 or slug) or a semi automatic rifle( CAR-15, AR-15)

Someone with an automatic rifle like an ak47 or even a mac10 ( yeah i know its not a rifle) , who have never use a gun before, and who didnt go throught some training(military, swat, ect.) would be probably scare shitless and when a "zombie" or infected, however u want to call it, would show up, the person would press the trigger for like 4-5 sec, unloading almost all the round in the enemy's body.

No,there illegal.But,just like drugs,there still available from the most low of lives.But yeah,it is illegal to posses,sell and use an automatic weapon outside of Law Enforcement and even then you have to be in firing practice or out on assingment to get your hands on one,so basically,you have to be a gangster or a S.W.A.T member to even touch one.
