Thats the problem with mainstream anime nowadays, the producers/ directors/ companies don't have the balls to have depressing endings. If the medium is gonna be pushed there needs to be more adult settings, themes, and communication. I love anime and would like it to leave this stagnant state.

It is "lulz deep" but for the demographic they are aiming,young teens, it shows characters who might be dealing with problems they are in a way only an over the top anime can. It basically show silly emo "deppresed" kids that to change anything they have to get up and do it, for all the people who even mean a little bit to them and for that I give Eva credit. It took a lot of cues from Mobile Suit Gundam in its realization but its mass appeal is what makes it great. It helped progress anime.

Such a sad song, but hopeful in it's own way. I hear a lot of people criticize Asuka for being weak, but in all honesty if I had to live through everything she did I would go insane too. Personally I believe Asuka to be more heroic than Shinji.
On the topic of human instrumentality though, I am a very independant person and therefore I hate the thought of everything becoming one. However, for Rei, I suppose I would have no choice. Whatever my world was it would all come tumbling down..

What the heck are the images around 4:50 that seem to show pretty obvious sex? I don't remember anything that obviously sexual being shown, though it's been a few years since I watched it to be fair.
That would be where Shinji and Rei are in the pool of LCL and it is where no form has physical representation, so even though it appears they are, it is nothing more than like sitting on your lounge in front of the television.
So it's after everyone explodes into LCL? Like when there are just about 4 million images on the screen just going by as fast as possible? I need to watch the whole series again including the movie I guess.
Aye. The orange sky, the orange waves around them - the naked forms of Rei and Shinji - they do not even have forms at that point. Rei is, in a way projecting into Shinji's mind that image so that he is better able to understand what she is telling him.
The whole series, the movie, every scene has multiple meanings that it's easy to be confused unless you follow the storyline closely and try and analyse everything at the same time.

this was an excellent AMV. I recently watched EoE this morning (its been 3 years since i last watched it). This song makes me feel nervous/weird - tis great. They say a good movie is one that can invoke emotion or make you think. They are a number of movies like that, but evangelion is possibly imo the only anime that has ever managed to do it.
All the bodies of water in Rebuild are LCL. It's a sequel to the original series; it appears to be a remake, but it's actually the story repeating over again and will have a different ending. Different ending, as in it's not a remake. Questions will be answered and more of the backstory revealed.
Just watch Rebuild. You can't seriously think you understood the series if you think everything was left with closure in EoE.

Eva is possibly the best anime series i have ever seen. no matter how many times i watch it, it still causes me to cringe watching what happens to the pilots.

What the heck are the images around 4:50 that seem to show pretty obvious sex? I don't remember anything that obviously sexual being shown, though it's been a few years since I watched it to be fair.

That would be where Shinji and Rei are in the pool of LCL and it is where no form has physical representation, so even though it appears they are, it is nothing more than like sitting on your lounge in front of the television.

Aye. The orange sky, the orange waves around them - the naked forms of Rei and Shinji - they do not even have forms at that point. Rei is, in a way projecting into Shinji's mind that image so that he is better able to understand what she is telling him.
The whole series, the movie, every scene has multiple meanings that it's easy to be confused unless you follow the storyline closely and try and analyse everything at the same time.

this was an excellent AMV. I recently watched EoE this morning (its been 3 years since i last watched it). This song makes me feel nervous/weird - tis great. They say a good movie is one that can invoke emotion or make you think. They are a number of movies like that, but evangelion is possibly imo the only anime that has ever managed to do it.

Fucking watch Rebuild, you morons.
All the bodies of water in Rebuild are LCL. It's a sequel to the original series; it appears to be a remake, but it's actually the story repeating over again and will have a different ending. Different ending, as in it's not a remake. Questions will be answered and more of the backstory revealed.
Just watch Rebuild. You can't seriously think you understood the series if you think everything was left with closure in EoE.

Also you might know (or not) that the ending in the end of Evangelion is considerd by many an Alternative ending by itself to the TV show, in the end of the TV show Shinji understands (thus the well known hand clapping scene) instead of turning everyone into Orange juice in the End of Evangelion :p

Shinji and Asuka are alive, as well as everyone else. The "dead" just don't have an individual AT field keeping themselves from collapsing into LCL. Until people decide that they want to be who they once were, forgoing the comforts of not being an individual who could suffer, everyone remains joined as LCL.

no, and yes, shingi is not the only one alive, the people who realy want to come back,can,if their will is strong enough, but every one was turned into LCL,and technicaly every one is dead,but also,the reason why Shinji and Auska still alive at the end is because first shinji wanted auska back and because they have to start the human race and population again,like the bible story with adam and eve.NGE has alot of biblical refrences,like the eva coming from adam, like eve came from adams rib

yeah. the end of the whole series is series is like pandorahs box; all the bad stuff happened, and its sad, but the box stays open long enough for the hope at the bottom to get out.

well like i said, just watch the movie, there is no more eva, there is no more new Tokyo, there is no more seal, there are no more angels and everyone where united with lilith. the whole movie is suppose to graphicly portray the last 2 episodes of the tv show cause they ran out of budget and time to do it propperly at the time.
