This kind of ballad let's Dean's strong, lyrical voice shine. He had a clear, near-silky vocal style but still with a strong foundation: he can really hit those high notes with confidence. And the last bit of improv. is great -- reminds me of his first hit Our Summer Love.
The thick accompaniment, for once, doesn't get in the way.
I wish Deano had recorded more ballads with just guitar accompaniment, that approach would've had more appeal in the West, and be more lasting.
