I served four years in the Air Force, and while deployed to Guantanamo Bay Cuba for eight months, I witnessed many brainwashed Marines. When I took the ASVAB at the local MEPS prior to entering the Air Force, I saw Marine candidates who couldn't even pass the required minimum score to enter service. They were given 30-45 days to retest. True story.

Honestly, this video sounds like the recruits are going on a fancy cruise ship.. I went through a tougher receiving day in Devil Pups in Camp Pendleton. its kind of sad that kids ages 13-17 went throught a tougher time at a summer camp than the army soldiers being received to become warriors.

Depends if there is a slot for the MOS you picked. I talked to my recruiter, left for MEPS 2 days later and got a slot for 2 months from that day. Which in 7 hours I'll be on a bus heading out. Hooah and goodluck!

Hey man, I leave for basic on December 30th to Ft. Knox, Kentucky. I'm a pretty scrawny guy (5' 11" 135 lbs) and let me just say I felt the same way as you for awhile. Until my recruiter simply told me "just give 110% everyday and you'll be fine." Don't worry you don't "fail" basic training, you will stay there until you pass. There will be days that you want to go home. There will be days where you wonder what you got yourself into. But as long as you actually "try", you'll come out fine.
