i remember as a kid,the numerous pubs in the city and the murals of rugby league players, the butcher shops with sawdust on the floor, the wooden fences that separated the houses in the suburbs, dogs running around freely in the streets, kids fishing off the wharfes, its homogenius look of its people its changed sydney/australia oh,and the political incorrectness.....lol

@MyCityOfSYDNEY I've got pictures of myself in the late 60's at Sydney Harbour and the Opera House, and as far as you could see,was vacant land,a bit like Giovanni in the movie buying his block.,that would be worth a mint today!
The best thing about this movie is seeing old Sydney of the 1960's, before most of it was bulldozed in the '70's and '80's. At least the Marble Bar was saved and moved to the cellar of the Hilton when the Adams Hotel was demolished in the early 1970's. (Something revolutionary for 1970's Australia - ie. preserving our heritage.)
this was a classic movie pity due to racial slander its most likeley been put in the do not share folder :..... cana you tella me how I getting to kings a bloody cross lol just a line I have always remembered since I was a kid lol.... my daduse to wear a hanky tie hat like the one in this movie when he was a demolisher lol
That bloke is one Walter Chiari. He is a proper italian actor. I never knew he made this film till i went to australia. Shame not all of them are really italian. Some of them are a bloody disgrace. Still, a damn funny movie. and so australian too. Up there with "the castle".
From the Italian version of Wikipedia about Italian great actor Walter Chiari, who's the star of this Australian movie:
I remember the radio series which was very funny.

I have never heard of the movie before - I might just have to watch the whole movie!
I loved how that random gave Graham Kennedy the business - I guess Ted Bullpit was not the only Sydneysider against Graham and those down South!!!

I saw this when I was about 8 years old. One of the first movies I saw. Seems like its all about compliance to peer group pressure and customs.
I dont think much has changed.
