hey dude. i need your help about lagging on gaming pc. I got Motherboard Gigabyte GA-770T-D3L Amd Phenom x2 555 BE (stock cooler) Sapphire HD5750 Vapor~X WD HDD 500 GB sata 3 4 GB corsair value DDR3 1333MHZ Samsung DVD RW+ 2 LED cooling fan Gigabyte Superb 550watt im playing cod black ops and got some lags. Did i need to change a new psu or quad core processor? Give me your opinion. Thanks :)
For those who are looking for a cheap upgrade to their aging Geforce 8800gt or 9800gt, this card does the job nicely (speaking from experience). I recently replaced my 9800gt with this card, and so far I am not having any issues running games with it. I normally run everything at full settings, though I normally run texture filtering at 1x Anisotropic and turn AA off. Btw, my monitor runs at a resolution of 2560x1440, so it does a good job considering.
@Seirios86 both cards overheating suggests your case may be at fault with it's airflow. running this kind of card I would rec at least 1 input and 1 output large case fan, and if you have filters like my case, run these over a hoover to make sure they're not clogged with dust. In fact it can't hurt to hoover out the PC if you don't have dust filters.
Nice ! I have the same card and there is something bugging me. On the top of the card you have 3 green led. Do they stay always on ? On mine one led flickers all the time. Is that normal ?
Hey, can i run this card with a 400PSU? Some people say it can and others say it might struggle, i have a quad core 4 sticks of DDR2 RAM, a Asus P45 mobo, and a 120mm fan. Can anyone help me?
My non vapor-x 5770 (Which should be hotter for the higher clocked GPU and the fact that it's not Vapor-x) idles at 31C and games at (don't know load) around 41C... 44C after a while.

Yes. In order to access DirectX 10, you must upgrade to Windows Vista or Windows 7. You're better off with upgrading to Windows 7 since it supports DirectX 11. Your Video card supports DirectX 11 as well so it only makes sense yo go with Windows 7. WIndows 7 is also a vastly improved OS over Vista.
yes i know XP can support dx9 only, but y i can use dx10?.. i check on dxdiag it shows DX10.0 (4.10.0000.5515) i no lie!.... if my xp cant run dx10 then i have to reinstall dx9 again...

"to access DirectX 10, you must upgrade to Windows Vista..."
No, you only have to hack a config file. Dx10 is a load of BS.
"better off with upgrading to Windows 7 since it supports DirectX 11"
Only cause most of the PC gaming industry has bought into Microsoft's propaganda. Do the research - Dx11 is not "unrivaled" but more realistically it is *almost* as good as OpenGL.
Windows 7 isn't "vastly" improved over Vista. It's little more than Vista SP2 with an interface refresh.
Even if you do the DX10 hack, it doesn't unlock all DirectX10 features.
Also, Windows 7 is actually very much improved. It may not look much different, but it's mostly under the hood stuff. I still think Vista was a good FPS, just it was a little rushed and Windows 7 is pretty much what Vista should have been. The compatibility of devices and programs on windows 7 is a lot better, along with many other things.
Your "facts" aren't entirely true. Also I just noticed that in one of my posts above I referred to Vista as an FPS. What the hell was I smoking at the time lol.
You wont able to. Since physx works with nvidia gpu's only. A gt300 is expected to preform 5 times faster than a single 5870. This may be possible with a lucid hydra pcie controller though. The best bet is to wait for the gt300 sli 2 of them and buy a gts250 for dedicated physx
@motherboardsorg - I was thinking for X-MAS or my b-day of getting another 5770 to put in CrossFire. I currently own the 2nd edition of the Sapphire 5770s. It's the one which the plastic shroud is oval/diamond-ish shaped (it's non-reference, it's got copper heatpipes). For about £125 I can get a 5770 Vapor-X, and for £103 (atm) I can get the 3rd edition (non-referene) non-VaporX 5770 from Sapphire. Should I get that or the Vapor-X version? It's only a 100MHz Core increase, is it ANY better?
no the perf is not fairly same the 5 series have dx11 and it is a great difference so in my op the 5770 deserves a look at (y got 2 for under the price of a 5870 but more the performance)
