Because this Priest classic is a powerful song! The title is indicative of that. To transform such a powerful driving song into one with a clean tone does it an injustice. Your style is comparable to the folk songs of the late 60's and early 70's. Your style would lend itself better to songs of such a nature. But to take this song and make it a ballad is not what it is about. It is tantamount to transforming "Bark at the moon," into a ballad.

I feel just the opposite, when I do covers of rocksongs. I want to strip away the aggressiveness but keep the melody and sometimes the basic structure. A lot of times ppl have told me they've listened to the actual words to these songs for the first time. I just don't see the point in making a cover that sounds just about the same as the original. Unless you play in a coverband that plays bars and stuff like that.

other thing my brother (a musician) likes too but he mention that Deltidsharmonisk has a very little problem with the voice in some of he's covers, but it's excellent in the arrangement. and personally dont like the foreigner cover
