In my home state, female rapists do not count as rapists. When women commit rape, their victims have pretty much no hope of legal justice. Not that victims of men typically get it either. Anyone who is trying to change the ridiculous laws and give us power to change things has my support. I will try to donate.
Right now the donated money is going though the long process of setting up a non-profit. I talk about in a video some time after this one.
So far I've spoken to junior high schools to raise awareness, written articles for newspapers and other publications, and have spoken to probably thousands of university students.
My real goal is to help victims who are being retaliated against for coming forward. Even though there are laws against it, it still happens and no one steps in to stop it.

my girlfriend threatened my life on at least three occasions, threatened to send her 'friends' to ransack my home, kill me, or my cat if i didnt hve sex with her. this was about a year into a 'relationship" that 2 weeks after we met i did not want any part of. reasoning, yelling, breaking myself completely had no effect.

While the vast majority of offenders are male, we'd be shocked if we all realized how many women are offenders... and they don't just molest.... they actually rape (as long as you agree with the letter of the law, which I do).

In my home state it isn't considered legally considered rape if a woman does it. I don't know how anyone could/would go about changing the law but I want and need to. The law didn't help me or anyone else who my rapist affected, but I can't just let nothing happen, let the law stay the same so she can keep doing it unchecked to more and more people.

You can still do a lot of harm without penises or testicles. There are more female rapists than we realize there are, and if a man is angry and hateful enough he can still cause a great deal of pain post-castration.
It's an appealing image to kill a rapist's sexual response so at least they won't get the physical pleasure anymore, but it won't stop them from doing what they do.

And I did a video - Castration Cure Response, where I do believe the rapist's anger will cause then to use objects. That said, with enormous amounts of psychotherapy and where the rapes aren't committed out of anger or hate, but compulsion, we see this therapy actually working.

It's just an impulse...damn near equivalant to being fired from a job, getting divorced, etc. Sure, it's natural to feel disgusted for a time...that's how we recover...however revenge solves nothing. umm a big part of the issue is that the media glorifies 'bad boy' images, and a lot of times people confuse passion and intensity with roughness and behaviors that are actually harmful and non-consensual. We are a narcissistic nation that is a lot of times waay too influenced via the media.
While I agree, rape is almost never about sex, but about anger or control through violence... the weapon being their penis (if it's a male rapist... a small percentage are female).

I know what it is like to endure hardship and be hurt badly. I wrote a poem on my experience, and know the pain is always there, it does not leave. I try not to take them, but fall into horrible withdrawal to the point that it feels like I'm dying. I have lowered doses due to your calming voice and I appreciate it. Hi. I was in a sexually and emotionally abusive relationship. I have gone to the police, but there isn't much they can do. He was suspended from school. But that is it. I feel like I am a joke. I didn't want to report what happened either. And I was basically forced to. Along with this, I have contracted a sexual disease that has the potential to change my life.

I am not in any way questioning you, but some men are falsely accused. There are no support orgs for them, what can we do to combat that? False accusation hurts actual victims too.
There actually are some support groups out there... and ways to clear your name especially if the accuser is found to have made a false report. If anyone reading this is in that position, message me and I'll try to get you in touch with one of these support agencies.

You had a choice to make a video on the internet with millions of people watching from around the world and thats where lible and slander is very difficult to prove. I don't think anyone here really understands the legal ramifications of this type of legislation. By taking a random group and giving them special rights it opens the door for other random groups to do the same. Pedophiles, adults, rapists. Um? what exact laws are you trying to change? you've stated victim status being a protected group but that is already in place, it's called the victim protection act. You can't put victimization in with race and gender, being a victim has nothing to do with human rights, that is what protected groups are about, human rights! They fought for the country. I think they deserve it, mainly because I can't see any legal ramifications of a Vet being protected. You're underestimating what victims who have stood up and identified themselves are going through and what bravery that takes. That's elective bravery. Maybe it needs to apply only to those who have filed reports, I'm not sure. But I actually hear from war veterans who believe I'm the only person who can understand what they are feeling... One reason I see this as a problem is the example that my pastor could go to jail for preaching against homosexuality if certain laws are passed to add sexuality to a protected status. Adding homosexuality to a protected status infringes immediately on my right to free speech and religious freedoms. Adding victims to this list does a similar thing, it opens the door for any random group to ask for federal protection from people speaking out.
@rooftopeagle, the situation in the U.S. is very different from that in Canada. We don't have a CHRC that can ignore the First Amendment. Making victims a "protected class" would not affect anyone's freedom of speech here. Protected classes here enjoy freedom from class based job or housing discrimination, or protection from a hostile working environment. Protected classes can be protected from workplace harassment, but not criticism from the pulpit, for example.
I know more about the psychology of victimization than you seem to give me credit for. I went through a long time of harassment that led me down some crappy roads. The thing is if you start to protect everyone from everything then you force everyone into jail. Something I say will offend you, something you say will offend me, if we start making laws to protect every single person who is offended. Harassment is illegal, go with that, you don't need to change laws to protect yourself.
Yeah, thus the need at times for civil proceedings.... ideally though, we need to make police, judges and so forth a lot more responsive to it and understanding of the seriousness of harassment, threats, and so forth.
I actually reported a legitimate death threat I got and it took a lot of work on my part for them to actually take a report and follow up.

I think your better off fighting for updated cyber laws. Make some kind of legal requirements for email accounts like proof of who you are through maybe a Internet provider's profile or something to make tracking who does what easier. I think what that website did could be considered harassment. The trick is even with updated cyber laws you need to submit a police report, it's a necessary evil. I think you can win updating cyber law, I think making victim's a protected group is a bit hokey
By the way, I understand your concern with new laws that have the potential to take away very important rights. I hope I didn't come across as naive or careless about that.

You didn't come across as naive at all. Cyber laws are a big problem right now I agree. One thing I'd causion you against is the wording of any new laws you work to get passed. Last year laws about gay marriage were used to argue for polygamy up here in Canada. The reason your idea of protecting victims beyond teh victim protection act bugs me is that it can open this kind of arguements up even more. People will find any loophole in a law to justify their behavior. No matter the intent.

Yeah, not at all. In fact the one good things states have done are to set up victim 'compensation' packages to help them financially if they can't go back to work or pay their student loans. And while I clearly took none of that money, it's a government program set aside for those needing assistance.
My only cost with this criminal trial is that of travel and lodging which I can handle on my own.

I think you should clarify some of the things you have said that have been criticized. They gain support from fellow internet people because they can paint a realistic picture of you being a scam artist from inconsistencies you've made talking about your rape case. While you do not owe an explanation to them, you'd find that explaining things would go a long way. However offensive, most these people are interested in the truth. I do not condone their methods or trolling at all, so you know.
First off, you're right, I don't owe an explanation. If anyone doesn't believe me, that's their total right and freedom.
I cannot talk about the details of the case because while we thought it would be 'settled out of court' (by which I meant, a plea bargain, which was said it would be accepted and eventually was not) it turns out it's going to trial.

In my home state, female rapists do not count as rapists. When women commit rape, their victims have pretty much no hope of legal justice. Not that victims of men typically get it either. Right now the donated money is going though the long process of setting up a non-profit. I talk about in a video some time after this one.
So far I've spoken to junior high schools to raise awareness, written articles for newspapers and other publications, and have spoken to probably thousands of university students.
My real goal is to help victims who are being retaliated against for coming forward. Even though there are laws against it, it still happens and no one steps in to stop it.

In my home state it isn't considered legally considered rape if a woman does it. I don't know how anyone could/would go about changing the law but I want and need to. The law didn't help me or anyone else who my rapist affected, but I can't just let nothing happen, let the law stay the same so she can keep doing it unchecked to more and more people.

You can still do a lot of harm without penises or testicles. There are more female rapists than we realize there are, and if a man is angry and hateful enough he can still cause a great deal of pain post-castration.
It's an appealing image to kill a rapist's sexual response so at least they won't get the physical pleasure anymore, but it won't stop them from doing what they do.

And I did a video - Castration Cure Response, where I do believe the rapist's anger will cause then to use objects. That said, with enormous amounts of psychotherapy and where the rapes aren't committed out of anger or hate, but compulsion, we see this therapy actually working.

I try not to take them, but fall into horrible withdrawal to the point that it feels like I'm dying. I have lowered doses due to your calming voice and I appreciate it. However, there is a difference between that and someone making fun of you by distorting an image that makes light of something that occured. By taking a random group and giving them special rights it opens the door for other random groups to do the same. Pedophiles, adults, rapists. Um? what exact laws are you trying to change? you've stated victim status being a protected group but that is already in place, it's called the victim protection act. You can't put victimization in with race and gender, being a victim has nothing to do with human rights, that is what protected groups are about, human rights! Maybe it needs to apply only to those who have filed reports, I'm not sure. But I actually hear from war veterans who believe I'm the only person who can understand what they are feeling... One reason I see this as a problem is the example that my pastor could go to jail for preaching against homosexuality if certain laws are passed to add sexuality to a protected status. Adding homosexuality to a protected status infringes immediately on my right to free speech and religious freedoms. Adding victims to this list does a similar thing, it opens the door for any random group to ask for federal protection from people speaking out.
I know that it takes bravery to ID themselves.

@rooftopeagle, the situation in the U.S. is very different from that in Canada. We don't have a CHRC that can ignore the First Amendment. Making victims a "protected class" would not affect anyone's freedom of speech here. Protected classes here enjoy freedom from class based job or housing discrimination, or protection from a hostile working environment. Protected classes can be protected from workplace harassment, but not criticism from the pulpit, for example.

I know more about the psychology of victimization than you seem to give me credit for. I went through a long time of harassment that led me down some crappy roads. The thing is if you start to protect everyone from everything then you force everyone into jail. Something I say will offend you, something you say will offend me, if we start making laws to protect every single person who is offended. Harassment is illegal, go with that, you don't need to change laws to protect yourself.

Yeah, thus the need at times for civil proceedings.... ideally though, we need to make police, judges and so forth a lot more responsive to it and understanding of the seriousness of harassment, threats, and so forth.
I actually reported a legitimate death threat I got and it took a lot of work on my part for them to actually take a report and follow up.
But I don't give up easily. I'm kind of a pain in the ass for those who want to sweep things under the rug. :-P

I think your better off fighting for updated cyber laws. Make some kind of legal requirements for email accounts like proof of who you are through maybe a Internet provider's profile or something to make tracking who does what easier. I think what that website did could be considered harassment. The trick is even with updated cyber laws you need to submit a police report, it's a necessary evil. I think you can win updating cyber law, I think making victim's a protected group is a bit hokey

You didn't come across as naive at all. Cyber laws are a big problem right now I agree. One thing I'd causion you against is the wording of any new laws you work to get passed. Last year laws about gay marriage were used to argue for polygamy up here in Canada. The reason your idea of protecting victims beyond teh victim protection act bugs me is that it can open this kind of arguements up even more. People will find any loophole in a law to justify their behavior. No matter the intent.

Yeah, not at all. In fact the one good things states have done are to set up victim 'compensation' packages to help them financially if they can't go back to work or pay their student loans. And while I clearly took none of that money, it's a government program set aside for those needing assistance.
My only cost with this criminal trial is that of travel and lodging which I can handle on my own.

Nope, I took a break from actual video making to keep from becoming burnt out. I've still been checking my messages, twittering, approving comments every so often and so forth.
I'll be returning with some really great stuff. I think there are an infinite number of things left to make videos about. :-)

First, let me say that I have the utmost sympathy for your situation and I wish you the best. I certainly wouldn't wish what happened to you on anyone.
But I wonder what the consequences of the proposed law would be in regards to the 6th Amendment of the Constitution? It would be a difficult balancing act to protect people in your situation and also to protect people that could be falsely accused and defamed by those that would exploit a law allowing someone to anonymously make accusations.

I'm talking about making victim status a protected group along with race, gender, sexual orientation, and so forth. Not making a whole new law/way we deal with defamation and bigotry.

Censoring? Free speech? The constitution does not extend protection to those who tell lies in an attempt to ruin someone's reputation. Libel, slander, and defamation of character are not protected by the constitution. She is going to have an uphill battle, no doubt. But the defamation part of her effort is hardly plowing new ground.

I don't want to use the word brave, because what you have done is so much more than that. I saw your original rape related video a long time ago, and for anyone to even think of doing such a thing is far beyond sick and twisted. I believe that you have given many other victims hope due to your own vocality.

I think you should clarify some of the things you have said that have been criticized. They gain support from fellow internet people because they can paint a realistic picture of you being a scam artist from inconsistencies you've made talking about your rape case. While you do not owe an explanation to them, you'd find that explaining things would go a long way. However offensive, most these people are interested in the truth. I do not condone their methods or trolling at all, so you know.

First off, you're right, I don't owe an explanation. If anyone doesn't believe me, that's their total right and freedom.
I cannot talk about the details of the case because while we thought it would be 'settled out of court' (by which I meant, a plea bargain, which was said it would be accepted and eventually was not) it turns out it's going to trial.
I'll speak quite freely to those who actually want to hear about it when all legal matters are over.

It's really unfortunate how society tries to tune rape out. Unfortunately men tend to doubt women's rape claims, for the same reason women tend to think that rape is only commitable by men. If only people wouldn't be so cold to each other!

this nearly makes me cry.
the fact that you have been able to not only fight to overcome such a horrible situation, but turn it into a positive cause just amazes me. i'm not sure that i could find such strength if such an event happened to me.
what happened to you is disgusting and unforgivable, but as a result, victims of sexual assault now have a strong leader to stand up for them. again, it's just mindblowing to me how strong you are.

I was speaking not to men in general, but to the specific men who write me in pain that their gender has done something, continues to do something, like this. They have asked me what can be done, I assure them they don't need to make up for what other men have done, yet they insist they must be able to do something.
