i also use 4 decks, sometimes i use 3 turntables and 2 cdjs. but this dude is killin it. i play drum'n'bass and i use the many dex to switch basslines in no time, but i mean he keeps it beatmatched on 3 playin decks, i mean wtf!
Na azért ez a srác gyakorol napi pár órát,hogy ilyen szett kijöljön a kicsi kacsójából....De ehhez nem felététlen szükséges a vinyl...Meg lehet 1000-es is vagy cdj100-sal is csinálni....
He appears to be completely spazzed out and there is no rhyme or reason to what he's doing. I will give him props on keeping the beatmatches running for that long. Not easy to do.
nobody actively does throwing anymore cause they're wimps and the current music is less dj oriented (dj tools) and more song based. more people should take an active part of djing. there's SO much more you could be doing people. be brave. have fun and rock on.
I understand you. I used to let tracks play the full distance and mix the outro. Now when I'm making a demo, or mixing for friends I find myself mixing out early just to keep the boredom away. I found that this keeps my mixes more interesting bc there is more happening more often. As a dancer/clubber, what Milligan did around :46 in this video woulda just p*ssed me off.
...like it or not, the dude's got skills-full credit to him, and you know what??? He's digging what he's doing and it really looks like he's having a great ime....so more power to him!! Rock on....
you have a valid point. most current styles are more songbased and don't allow for fancy dj tricks. though you have to admit there is a fine line between hotdogging and being an ambassador for your music and favorite producers.
hab den am samstag gesehen... un ehrlich gesagt hab ich mir echt da was besseres vorgestellt! Die musik war bissi lahm und man konnte nur zur etwa 3 platten richtig tanzen...

Hahaahahaha!! A 5-year-old could do that shit, with a half an hour's practice. If you really want to be blown away by a DJ, watch these videos: "DJ Woody Flutine", "DJ Woody 2002 Vestax Practice", "Crazy-B Guitar".
He's taking 4 simultaneously playing beats and going between channels to create an entirely new track. It's not juggling in the strictest traditional sense (2 copies of the same record blahblahblah) but I can't think of any better way to describe it. Live turntable remixing? Either way it takes far more talent that either you or I possess.
Wrong again. I used to enter DMC DJ battles every year, between '98 and '03. I gave up because the turntablism scene reached a peak in around '01, and has been dying ever since.
It's not only about doing beat match with 3 decks, but also to find a combination between the tracks, you just can't get any track and put them together. Check his project '' Algorithm''. It's great. Jeff rox!
claude young and rob hood are the shit, but they havent been around for a while, i think young has retired not sure on this one but havent heard about him for 6 yrs, hood the same.
If you do try it be sure to use minimal tracks or its going to sound like shit cause there will be to much happening to sound good. Go pick up a few old Dan Bell tracks or some Rob Hood things. Rock it out. Once you get used to playing on 4 sources then pick up some newer tenchno and away you go.
Listen to some old Claude Young mixes as well is you can find em.. some pretty heavy shit going on there as well.
its really good to see someone putting that much effort into djing! That said. its still not super hard. if you can match two beats, you can match 3 or four. Its the same thing. Is it more difficult? Sure. No question, but give it a try some time. you might be surprised how well you do.
i got a few young cd's and rob hood's cd which is a lot faster than this sort of stuff. young's kicks cd is timeless, and also his mix for central label is awesome. btw i know what you're saying, i've tried 3 its hard enough let alone four.
just watched the other vids. it's cool. props to the guy for workin it but if your from the midwest (usa) its kinda just how you have to rock it. guy's doing some cool shit though. nice to see someone putting some effort in to it :)
guess I need to see the other videos to see whats so cool about it. if your playing minimal stuff like that its not hard to play 3 or four tunes at once. its flashy but not that big of a deal.

Yeah, whatever.... If you don't like the music: it's a matter of taste, but Jeff's technical skills are brilliant.

sounds like you just need one deck and let the track do the work. I wish all djs would work it like Jeff.

Beat-juggling? The guy in the clip above isn't beat-juggling? Go and watch a video of a guy called DJ Vajra, if you want to see Beat-juggling?
