  • Can anyone help me by finding similar songs?

  • Wingy tels me you have been to the place San Francisco, I know of this name, is this the Bay area? But I have not ever been to this place of your desire. Still I live in your obscure but in some ways a real virtual world, and I hasten to add a better friend than you think.

At times I am not able to even listen to this joy thå† is called Erhu music, If I were to drop a single tear, I might cry a monsoon as those full, heavy clouds...well they whisper to me lately ...

  • @dimalyn

People who feel for each other can keep a distance and silently enjoy a sense of poetical attachment-detachment relation. This lace is about 10-minute ferry from the Golden Bridge at S.F.

  • This place is so beautiful. Where is it??

  • My God, I so love this song David, after all this time I still have no words.....

  • @dimalyn

I am in Taiwan on a B. trip and happen to listen to this song again. Yes, it is a joy beyond description of words. Remember Helen Keler:

"Light, give me light! This is the wordless cry of my soul!" Glad to be in this Chinese Renaissnce. Dima!

ps.: If anybody uses Dima, tell him it is a name saved for Dave!

  • @david1234lee

Dave so lovely to hear from you, I did not know that you were in Taiwan, strange I put this music on last night and did tai chi and I was carried away to the sounds of this erhu and images of such an old worldy place of beauty. Will you take me there one day Davey?

  • @dimalyn

That's a very serious proposition, Dima. In case that happens, leave the sword at Liverpool!

  • @david1234lee

To love me is to love my sword David.

  • @dimalyn Then they will call me John Wayne David Bobbit Lee! Haha!

  • @david1234lee

No they will call you David Still Hassit Lee.

  • @dimalyn

Dima, do you not agree that taichi is poetry materialized in the most smooth, fluent, harmonizing and poetic form?

  • @david1234lee

Davey my man I do indeed though perhaps not as sweet and smooth as the poetry that comes from your pouting lips.

David the Chinese language tells us how poetic they are, how profound they are. I have never come across a langauage that has some many metaphors. Only when a race is highly developed can they use language so poetically. The expressions and the contents echo together, enriching each other and expanding each other. xxx Dima

  • @dimalyn

But there is a downside about language being too poetic and one of them is the gradual fade away of sincerity and another is the loss of accuracy. Civilization is also a burde. Hope you are doing well at Liverpool. Still taichining?

  • @dimalyn

    Who is he?

    That Chinese taichi guy

You messed around not long ago?

    Haha!

  • @david1234lee

    Haha which one...you?

  • @dimalyn

I am flattered but I know you spent a whale amount of of time with a Bay area taichi guy who called you honey, sweet or something. haha!

  • @david1234lee

What is this Bay area that you speak of?

Why do you haunt my head and I try to fight?

Why do you taunt my brain and haunt my heart?

  • @dimalyn

Because we have had some feeling for each other.

  • Comment removed

  • This magical music has touched the deepest part of my heart. Bravo....

  • One can also get there by a 30 second heart and mind trip from anywhere in the world.

    Who is the erhu player?

  • @dimalyn

Her name is Shen linn who also played "Spring Scenery of Spring" in which she wore red chi-po. They are so-gifted!

  • @david1234lee

This place is about one-hour fast tran from Shanghai near Hongchou and fshermen on the rver lso had two big birds whic dived underwater to pick up fishes. Very poetic. It is located on the south sde of Yantze river, known as Jiang nan. Jiang= river; nan= south. Ths is China's famous area of fish and rice!

  • @david1234lee

You lead a charmed life my friend to have visited such a beauty spot.

  • @dimalyn

I would like to live with two swords and leave them crossing each other under my pillow and ,Whoooyaaa, the fly is cut to two pieces in the air! Warrior Dima hardly opens her eyes!

  • @david1234lee

Haha you overate me, but also remember I have the black death up my sleeve also, yes I am deadly with my fan.

  • Lol, i have been to this place... That a citty called "Hang Jo" (spelling is probably wrong) and it's just a driving hour away from Shanghai... :D

  • Have traveld most of Asia and there is no other country than can complete with the serinity and loveable people anywher else in this world, Just fell in love with China and the people.. God bless you all. John

  • Was here last week and thought of this song. Suchow is such a nice place!

  • Thats so magnificent and beautiful. I hope to go there someday.

  • I was born in Japan. I am Japanese but this song brings me back memory. The willow, the channel, the red lantern and the people who row a boat remind me of something like a good old day in Japan. I also think that the sound of erhu sounds very similar to the voice of very famous Japanese singer of Ms. Misora Hibari.

I think Asian people has the same root.

    Don't you think so?

  • @sekiki1

I do! They all originated (except the Indians) from the Yellow River belts and slowly migrated to Tibet, Mongolia and North America by crossing the continents before the land sank. Some crossed the seas to Japan. This is generally known as the great "Mongolian Race." Tibetans developed larger nostrils due to thin airs while Japanese people were little short due to the sea food intake. While Shangtung folks are taller due to heavy intake of corns and by-products.

  • Dear @sekiki1 :

I was very lucky to work in Taicang city (50KM north of Shanghai city) for more than 1 year and be able to learn how to play erhu by joining local erhu school on every Sunday.

Even though I was very busy with my work and did not spend much time in learning erhu but I really enjoy playing erhu.

I agree with your statement of "Asian people has the same root" and hope we all live in harmony through the same compassion at music.

  • Marvellous.

  • Jesus Christ this is absolutely beautiful.

  • this erhu solo is realy fantastic it made me fly to a magic world!it is a pitty that this magnific chinese culture is not abroad difused in the ocidental world!

  • I'm sold,How far do I have to dig . This is a great erhu solo accompanied by piano.

  • Oh!.. boy boy boy!!!...., I loved that music, and love to visit that town, tell me the name of this village :) thanks, I love to go to China!,:)

  • This is in the Wixi, Suchou, and Honchu areas, most like Wuxi, about 2.5 hours drive from Shanghai. If you fly to Shanghai most hotels have 1-3 days tours to this area, usually covering all the three towns I just mentioned. West Lake at Honchou is known as China's number-one lake, which President Nixon loved a lot. It is China hotbed for poets and artists and beautiful ladies!

  • Hi David, thanks so much for your quick reply :) :)

I know in Asia they are very good at organizing visiting trips, for I have been to Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam, in 3 different trip, 5 weeks each, Thanks again :) :)

  • As a matter of fact, it is not. This is a tune for relatively more educated listeners. Chinese tv program are jammed up with

commercials, western immitations or stories on civil wars and Japanese atrocities.

  • No haha! Just my love of my motherland, China!

  • Oh dear you miss China already! well let's keep the memories alive by browsing your photos.

  • You won't believe me but it is true. A fellow traveller in Beijing who climbed the Great Wall with us took lots of pictures for me. He was kind but poor and I gave my digital camera to him on condition he sends me the pictures. I never received any pictures.

  • Never mind, let's hope twostorms camera didn't get eaten by the Chinese Camera Goblin! haha

  • i love the kombination of erhu and piano!! so i love this video very much!!

  • excellent

  • Isn't this so beautiful David, I have no words to tell of how I feel when I listen to this.

  • And thanks for the video you sent me. They are really good!

  • After nearly 3 weeks in China from the Great Wall to the Old Streets in Shanghai, this music really brings a stream of sentimentality to me!

  • @dimalyn

Yes, Dima, a woe and a pleasure beyond words!

  • @david1234lee

Sorrow so sweet. A guilty pleasure in anothers woe.

  • @dimalyn

Yes, it s beautiful, calm and soothing! Now, one can get there by a 30-minute train from Shanghai! This erhu player touches so deep!

  • Hahahahahaha please don't be mean David.

  • Thank you, dear Dima!

  • I visited this stream and bought a brass dargon by the side of stream. This music just babbles with so much homesick and s much sadness from the remote past to now. I love this song. I love China!

  • Thank you, my Dima.

Some melancholy, some sadness, something that wnds into the soul!

  • David I have a video of tai chi to this, I will send it to you, different version, think I like this best as it is so soulful, makes one forget all headaches of utube! haha anyway see if you like the version I send you?

  • This is a pretty song but full of a person's mental and emotional retrace and retreat to gone by days, nostalgia in a very dimly painful way. Why should it reminds of me, Dima? I can't dive ths water. It is too murky! Haha!

  • hello.. can teach me how to download on my zen? Thks!

  • Chinese calligraphy, sword and Taichi are related. Embedded underneath the soft touches are strength, control and creative ingenuity! Like Erhu, too!

  • Yes it is David and just like the sword is an extension of the players mind through the body, the brush I guess is an extension of the calligraphers arm.

  • Precisely, the strength is controlled. Did you see the Crouching Tiger. When the girl used the brush to write Chinese characters, the other girl said:

    "You are good at sword."

    It is the same discipline.

  • Ah yes I did see that movie, not seen many other movies of that genre but yes I did and I rather enjoyded it David!

  • In the end, the lady placed her hand on the guy's back and sent her chi to his body to cure his illness. It was a very moving part of the movie in which one gave the best part in her life to save another. Chi is still used widely to cure diseases in China, including eye illness. One chi master direct his chi into a bottle and helped prolong a cancer patient's life for two more years The son is a friend of mine. He was the sports editor, China Times, Taipei. True story. In Japan, called Riechi.

  • Yes the art and sccience of healing by chi is fascinating but also can be dangerous and very very tricky. One can transmit badh chi so to speak, it is well documented of practioners unwittingly passing on for eg their own heart problem to their patients through lack of knowledge, though some cases have been more sinister were the healer has known of his own illness and has made a deliberate attempt to rid himself of it.

  • One has to be really gifted to be on this level and actually it is an imortant part of the Chinese medicine and healing world. Many people practised chi and become paralyzed for life due to misdirection. There are several Japanese books on the art of curng through hand touch with warmth and chi. I think they call in Reichi or similar. The "rei" or "rie" is the Chinese character "ling" meaning "spirit" or "godly".

My mom has a sword in her hand but how do you know?

  • Yes the Japanese spell it Reiki I believe, as far as I know the ki part means "life force energy, lioke the chinese word "chi" or "qi" so then we bring them together and have something like spirit/godly life force energy.

  • Actually, the Japanese "ki" is the same Chinese character "chi". only with slightly different sounds. Please understand China and Japan use the same characters. Japanese borrowed then from China and used the charaters entirely or by parts. I am from Kansas, Bob Dole's country, the wheat capital of the world.

  • I think also the tornado capital of the world!

So being such an agricultural state I suppose there is a lot of migration of the people to the cities?

  • I have never seen one myself. Most tornadoes hit the plain area near Wichita. Few years ago, they wiped away a small town, virtually. But that areaa around I-35 is so beautiful. One feels he drives in the seas. I-35 goes through Minnesotal and Texas. You heard the the brag: "Everything you got, we got big ones". This fits in well with the fool George Bush. One time, I picked up a postal card and mailed it to Taiwan. My friend was called to the post office and was asked: Are they real women?

  • Were they transvestites?

George W! hahaha I found him rather peculiar to be honest and more than a touch vindictive!

I have to say I am not familiar with your Kansas.

  • Two Texas women who "dare to bare". Haha!

Bush and Blair are twin fools! Sorry!
