this video will enlighten people that our nature if abused and overused could harm us back naturally but can hit us a big damaged and could lose some lives... but absolutely we learn many lessons... the faith and togetherness..helping each other, giving cares to those strangers..everything has a reason :)
Music is great...to completment the video. It fits exactally! I have been through Carla in '63, Alicia in 83..the countless tropical storms that sometimes can be worse than force 2 through 4 hurricanes..stall out and rain for 4 days....lucky be be inside the loop, just tree and street flooding, Houston is resislant...we get our shit together with out texas spirit! Never wait on the federal government....like New Orleans...its the gumption of Texas people! Get it done, don't wait on the feds!!
i made a documentary of ike. my experience before, during, and after the hurricane here in houston. it was scary but my heart is with galveston who suffered it more. next year im going to galveston during cane season to make a better documentary. God bless you'll
I live in Houston, and I am so happy that Nature demonstrate to me , that I don't own anything here, and that I don't control anything, and that Nature doesn't owme anything, and I learn that I am nothing with out electricity.
We just got our electricity back after 12 days without it and we live 70 miles from the coast. There are many neighborhoods here North of Houston that are still without power and they have no idea when they will get it back. Thanks for the video, since we lost power on the Friday before the storm, we missed the news coverage but we got a first hand account of the furry from our bedroom windows. Even this far north it was wild, I can only imagine what it was like on the island.
My son Preston from Cleveland Ohio was mad because his company did not send him down to Texas with his company crew so he could help with getting the electricity back on, but then Ike went to Cleveland and tore his town up pretty bad to so he needed to be home there or else he would have been down to Texas. He was born in Abilene,TX Hes the good son and a hard worker. I m his mom Suzi
Thank You, Neyland family from Hot Springs. (That's where we planned to vacation this year, but everybody North of y'all were having their own water issues!)We are from the Bolivar Peninsula, and yes, we will rebuild. Others may see clutter and chaos, but we still see home.
Just got my power back on 8 days after IKE slammed into our coast here in Texas. I'm 30 minutes from Galveston and SUPER thankful for the minor damage. God bless our Galveston residents and the people who stayed and are unaccounted for.
Same situation here. Had a week of no power and more importantly, NO A/C! XD I'm in Baytown which is probably also around 30 minutes from Galvaston. Good luck to all of those who still don't have power and/or supplies. We still have a fairly large number of people without power even here, but every day a LOT of people get it back.
Hurricane Ike devastated Galveston and destroyed parts of Houston, boy this is my first experience of dealing with what could've been a major hurricane. I was born in Houston and I still live here til this day!
Anne Lennox, cool... just sat through this mess in Clear Lake, TX and we had no water, electricity or news except what we could pull in on the radio, these are great pics--got power back on just a couple of hours ago...god bless the man who invented AC!!!
This is a beautiful way to communicate what others are experiencing, thank-you for such a moving look at what we cannot see. God Bless you all. Love the Annie Lennox song!
but the sad part is that those who againts Bush in his mission also being affected ... for those who againts the war my sympathy to all of you....may god save you from this disaster.
Thank you for posting. My daughter lives in Galveston and evacuated to our home in East Texas and I am so glad we went and got her early. Galveston is such a beautiful place...I pray all who stayed survived it.
@yourehot1028 all though this was old .............thanks for the love !!!!! many people dont know what its like to live withough power for 23 days !!!!!
