To respond to all button problems. You have the green mainboard, at the right side you have a green plastic with 4 rubbers. When you press a button, it presses the black rubber. You have to test this mechanism. If that doesn't work, you'll have to be creative -> put a piece of paper or plastic between the black contact and the button to make it easier for the button to touch the black rubber. Otherwise, I would guess it's a problem related to the mainboard.
my psx controller works fine except one problem. its x button is on hold i mean its always pressed and thats why i cant use any other button. i used it in need for speed where u accelerate using x and it works completely fine even without pressing x button my car is running on full speed :).
@almas1989 yes, if you open the controller, you will see a plastic underneath every button (or one plastic for all buttons). Probably that's the problem. It's not in the right place.

Hi again and i find the problem of my controller weeird it moves normally but when i do a hard movement i stays like that then by control is transparent and i see that the analog is fine it just doesn"t move back to place unless i move it back so is there any way you know that you can replace it with out replacing the handle

I have a problem with the Triangle and R1+2. For some reason they set themselves all to O. So if i lightly press O it triggers normally, if i press hard on O it activates Triangle, R1 and R2. Triangle and R1+2 dont work at all. I tried pressing the black spot (where triangle should go, on top of the motherboard) with those rubber things over the buttons and get no response. So i think i need a new one of those things that sends the signal to the motherboard.
@TOCORO100 I don't know what exactly is your case, but if you're using PS1 controller on your PS2, there are some games that are not playable using that controller since it is not supported by a certain game. If it's something else than that, then your controller is probably broken...

@XxXchikXmagnetX95X : the mainboard is sometimes more expensive than a new controller. I would say: don't waste your time (it's also extremely complicated to change it)
Sounds like you have a frequency clash, if there are mobiles or microwaves near you this WILL mess up your control. Question is does it still happen even if it's plugged in?

The most challenging task is removing the screws. The reason is because the screw heads are prone to stripping and then what? You're boned! The rear trigger buttons were definitely a pain to put back into place. Thank you for the advice on those.

Yep, my black Controller has a squeky analog stick, too. So there is nothing to do, only to buy a new Controller. That means when your Analog Stick squeaks, it is broken some parts of it. Did you throw your Controller with fully power on the flor or it got fallen by itself?
if i play a game i slowely go to the left because the R3 is pointing to the left a little bit and when i pull it with all my strenght to the right and let it go, nothing changed.
@3111993evo I think that means that the system is not picking up on the stick even though the red light is on. I guess if the stick isn't working then the system assumes that there are no functional controllers plugged in. It's the same w/ mine - red light's on but the stick doesn't work and sometimes the system says there's no controller plugged in.

check on the end of the cord of the controller and inside the box of the cord youll see some golden stick wires see if all of them are there

if i play a game i slowely go to the left because the R3 is pointing to the left a little bit and when i pull it with all my strenght to the right and let it go, nothing changed.

@3111993evo I think that means that the system is not picking up on the stick even though the red light is on. I guess if the stick isn't working then the system assumes that there are no functional controllers plugged in. It's the same w/ mine - red light's on but the stick doesn't work and sometimes the system says there's no controller plugged in.

omg u no wats wrong with my controller. once i turn on my ps2 my red light appears near both analog sticks that normally lights on it does and when im in a game it keeps moving in circle the game keeps moving in circle when i use the controller... omg plz help me :D its not the game. its my controller

get a new controller... i had the same problem... believe me mine was much worse... not only did it go round in circles, it also started firing bullets ingame..... and that was when i was playing mgs... :(

i did a get a new controller now my gran turismo 4 doesnt want to work -.- when i go in a race u no the spinin gtime thing yea that thing it spins as normal white. then it turns to red and keep spining and never finish spinning

When I plug in my PS2 controller, the anolog light and everything comes on and the game recognizes the controller, the the controller has no function whatsoever. somebody help me!!

I put the directional pad to the proper places but when I press on it and try to do a half circle motion it makes a type of clanking sound I hate, anything to help me with that?

i think the circuits on my controller burnt out because ive done everything possible and the buttons wont work,(i use my ps2 more than my 360 and ps3 witch to me is weird)but i think i just need a new controller

Unless there isn't a problem with the controller or the PS2, it might be caused by some games that don't use the analog feature.
