  • Kazi nzuri sana Toby!!! Mimi nilizaliwa Kenya. Kiswahili Kitukuzwe!!!!!!!

  • hahahahaha.....this is hilarious!!!! cant stop laughing!!!! jitahidi zaidi

  • It's a good thing you went to Tanzania to improve on your Kiswahili skills. I would like to see an updated video on how much you have improved!

  • i'm trying to learn it now one day ima make a vid lol so much respect to you all good stuff

  • YOu both did quite well, but Toby you needed to relax, to allow the language flow smoothly. Quick correction- Hujambo! is posed first and the response is sijambo!!! Vizuri sana......good job

  • tiny mistakes

  • mumejaribu sana,..ningependa tuwasiliane na tujuane ili tujifunze kiswahili maradufu.( steve odawa odhy facebook name)

  • nzuri sana

  • That was nice but u made tiny mistakes

  • niiiceeeeee there are some mistakes though...like indians are pronounced as wahindi not vahindi and chakula cha mchana is lunch not dinner..soo yeah n some other mistakes too but u r doing very good keep up the practice..

  • @amazingmeena ya i noticed that too

  • oooooohhhh i agree SO CUTEEE :)

  • ROFLMAOOOOO! sorry but this is supercute, especially as a native speaker

  • its easy to learn, but it slightly differs from Tanzania and Kenya, the Tanzanian one is much stronger than the Kenyan one

  • they're pronouncing the words wrong, but its great that they're trying...

  • its always interesting to see Westerners attempt to speak Swahili. The reality is that you might get the concept of how Kiswahili is spoken, but you will still never get it right fully until you travel to Tanzania for example, where it is the national language. Books and tapes alone are never enough!

  • wow that was almost perfect.good pronunciation and use of words

  • Kiswahili kitukuzwe kwani lugha ya taifa, haswaa Africa magharibi,na sehemu nyingine za kati,ni vyema kuona mtoka ng'ambo akiendeleza sanaa ya kiswahili katika huu mtandao ,natarajia hutakomea kujifunza katika shule ya upili na utaendela na kujifunza, iwapo hata na tamdhilia..uzuri kwako..

  • hhahaha this the first time i see other white people talking swahili :P

  • it seems you are speaking swahili sanifu that is widely spoken on the coastal region of east africa i like you accent specially when you blend in with your native english accent sounds unique, i did learn swahili as subject but i can also speak sheng which is widely spoken in big cities mixture of english, swahili and made up words

  • Tanzanian swahili is so perfect compared to Kenyan, your pronounciation sounds good just probably a bitttt faster maybe?

  • good try!!

  • Aha7santee sana

  • How lucky your mother was willing to help you out by learning those words!

  • A couple of mistakes but not bad. Like when you said 'my new neighbour' You kinda ended the sentence with a question mark. 'LANGU' is a word u use for a thing, not a person. Jirani WANGU would suffice.

  • Is kiswahili difficult to learn?

  • well it is very different from any romance language in its grammatical structure but the pronunciation and spelling are quite simple. I did this video before i really knew Swahili but after that I studied the language in the Tanzania and I can tell you that if you want to learn it, the very best way is to go to a country where it is spoken (TZ or Kenya).

  • Thanks for your comment ! Maybe i will go to Tanzania in few months, but i´m afraid because of the language!

    English is easier ;-)

  • @tobythesecond

I am from New Zealand, I can speak Chinese which is also not a romance language, but would obviously be very different. I would love to speak it for the sheer ability to speak Kiswahili!!!!!!!

    Hooray!

  • @Chresch its not difficult i is easy well some of the words i am from tanzania and i speak swahili you should try

  • great try, keep it up!

  • very nice

  • lol acting was so awkward, btw good work

  • Sound great!!!

  • nice

  • Asante sana, Toby. Mimi nanajifunza kiswahili pia. Umefanya kazi nzuri sana.
