  • My problem is I dont know how to flip the car like you did in 2:34

  • Hi i have the sketch up 8 and I cant flip it I dont have the toolbar like you do. I have a toolbar but its not alot of stuff in the toolbar.

  • @CrazyKillz2 when your in sketchup go to view - toolbars and there will be lots of toolbars to use just click on them and they will automaticly appear. hope this helps

  • @lotsoftrains123 Yes thank you it is much easier now. But my other question is how to flip the car like he did in 2:34 THanks again

  • @CrazyKillz2 using the move tool, bring your mouse pointer to one of the edges of the pic, then you'll see some + symbols, click on one of these and you can rotate the picture accordingly. :)

  • did you use sketchup 7 or 8?

  • @chudzinskiadrian 7 I think. why?

  • Excellent!! I just found out about Sketchup and what you've done here is incredible. Thanks for sharing

  • Thanks for putting this up! I learned a lot. And thanks for the blueprints link. Found a lot of good stuff :)

  • @marcusthedog To rotate, I use the move tool. When you bring the move tool to a component, you will see some '+' symbols on one side. If you click one of the '+' symbols and move your mouse, the component will rotate. Try it out, and get familiar with it. It makes rotating stuff very quick and simple. As for other shortcuts, you'll learn them with experience.

  • nvm i fixed it i forgot to explode it

  • i seperated the pictures but when i try to select only one the whole thing gets selected help!

  • @buildermanifreak what do you mean you separated the pictures? Did you make individual groups of each view by right clicking them?

  • @igot2lambos can i also crop 1st the blueprints on gimp or something before importing it on sketchup?..tnx

    btw nice tut

  • @natsirht28 definitely, but make sure all the sides are at the same scale.

  • @buildermanifreak Did you make sure to [right click] > explode the image?

  • it dident work! when i try to opend the blueprint in sketchup , it say " this dose not appear to be a sketchup model?!? what to do? plz help ! excuse the English spelling

  • @swesnoffe open the picture in paint, gimp or any other image editing program. Then save it as a .jpg file. Now you should be able to IMPORT it into sketchup. some other formats are not supported.

  • @swesnoffe also, you can't just open a picture in sketchup. You have to go to file>import as i did in the video.

  • where did you get the awesome wallpaper? i want it!

  • @manakennels search "lion circus wallpaper" in google images

  • @DefinitelyLego one, I don't have a good mic. two, my accent sucks, three, its much better to just show annotations.

  • what the music in the tutorial ? :>

  • @kogutek233 I've had to change it so many times already because some people didn't like the earlier one. :(

  • how can I put a human standing near the axes?pls reply tnx

  • @babebuBHEM Window>Components, then click the drop down arrow next to the house icon, then choose "People" in favorites. Now you can choose whether you want Dynamic Component people, 2d people or 3d people.

  • i tried and failed :(

  • @adenis111 Why what happened???? :(

  • @igot2lambos lol i got stuck on the hood

  • @adenis111 do you want help?

  • @igot2lambos nahhh its ok - i took it off

  • I desperately need someone to make a nice 1969 Chevelle and upload to the Google Warehouse!! I suck at modeling, but I need one!! PLEEEASE?? ANYBODY???

  • @DungVids I'm sorry, I can't because I don't make 3d models anymore.

  • @igot2lambos

Why did you stop making models? You're really good at it

  • @DungVids I think its kind of a waste of time. :)

  • Meant to ask... how do you know what size to make the blueprints when you first place them in sketchup? (to make them real scale),

Also how far away from the middle image do you place the front and back image?

  • @RSROBXR2 for scale, I just look at the 2d people you see when you open a new sketchup file. Look at 1:34 to see what I'm talking about, see that guy named Bryce? yeah I use him. To make it exact, you can look up dimensions of you car on the internet, and then you can scale the blueprint accordingly. To do this, first make a line the length of what the car is actually supposed to be, then just simply line up the blueprint with the line and scale it accordingly.

  • @RSROBXR2 Answer to second question: It doesn't really matter, just make sure they don't touch the model itself (only the side view should touch the car). I like to keep them about 2-5 feet from the model.

  • Ahh... the Tata Indica, A.K.A the shitty rover... oops i mean city rover..

  • @RSROBXR2 haha, its probably true. It's cheap even by Indian people's standards.

  • Also, I have the Sketchup 8 and when I go to View > Standard Views > Front. the standrard views is not on there.

  • @DirectorForBest I'm sorry. :( I made a mistake; You are supposed to go to Camera>Standard Views>Front. I'll Fix that on the the video. Thanks for pointing that out.

  • Okay, I had everything done to the point where I was instructed to use the Rotate tool. I can't seem to make it work. I click it and bring it over to where you had it, but the rotater thing just turns blue and inserts sideways into the picture, the picture doesn't move.

  • @DirectorForBest If you want to do it exactly how I do it, then you can use the move tool as the rotate tool. Select the move tool, then bring it over to the side of the picture you want to rotate it along. Now you should see some "+" signs on that side. If you click on them and move your mouse, the picture will rotate. this only works if you've made the object (picture) into a group/component.

  • when i go import, nothing shows up. as in none of the little icons for photos come up so i cant import them onto sketchup

  • @manakennels first, when you go to import you'll see at the bottom, a "Files of type" box. Click on the drop down arrow and change the value to "All Supported image types". then go to the place where you saved the blueprint. you should see a your blueprint file now. tell me if you still don't see them.

  • @igot2lambos thank you very much it has worked and my boss is happy :)

  • @manakennels nice :)

  • Mmmm i dnt hve the sketchup pro so is the step the same or not

  • @AH64RAPTOR Its all the same. You can still import images, set scenes etc. To be honest, sketchup pro didn't have a lot more features. So now I only have sketchup 8 (no pro)

  • i registered for that website and downloaded the blueprints but when i try importing the blueprints the file type isn't supported by google sketchup

  • @j5mars Okay, what you gotta do then is, open the picture in paint and save as a ".jpeg" file. Then import it into sketchup.

  • this is confusing and the music is annoying

  • @cjwalshr20 Okay, which part did you not understand? I can help you. For the music, I'll do an audio swap for you. :D
