  • MET-RX HAS SUCRALOSE, which makes it very bad for you, if man made it, don't eat it! I use garbanzo beans in my "protein shake"....

  • can a woman use this to lose weight? i really need to lose 50lbs this year

  • @foxyvixen19

Nutrition for women is the same as nutrition for men. The only difference is that you'll eat according to your lean muscle mass. I've got a good fat loss program on my website at: LeeHayward. com/dvd this covers fat loss diet plans for both men and women.

  • @leemhayward Do you think i should use creatine/protein/supplements etc or should i just make a high protein shake with natural foods?? Also is it good if i take creatin & whey protein on and off because i dont want to be dependant on it.??

  • @MrChannel5news

These are not drugs, you can not become dependent on protein, creatine, etc. They are just nutritional supplements. For example, whey protein is made from milk... And I don't think you are afraid of becoming addicted to milk are you?

  • i work from 2pm to 6pm i go to the gym by 7;30 out by 8;30 go home take my isolate and creatine shower eat the go to my other job @ 11 pm and i got out @ 7am go home eat sleep up by 1;30 to start my day all over at 2. so my ? is what can i do to keep my body in a anabolic state since i really not have time to eat is there anything that can help me as to supplements foods that i can by an take with me so i can eat throughout the day.

  • @MrNasmar

You can literally prepare all your meals for the day in about 1/2 hour if you plan it out right. I suggest you go to my main channel page and download a copy of my Bodybuilding Quick Start Kit. In that download there is a Bodybuilding Nutrition Guide that has some simple meal prep tips that you can use to prepare and pack your food for the day / night.

  • plz how many calories?

  • @shockthreezy

Different brands may have different nutritional info. But all you'd have to do is add up the calories from the labels on the protein, greens, etc. that you use.

  • Hi how many calories would be in this shake thanks

  • @ContraltoQueen

Different brands may have different nutritional info. But all you'd have to do is add up the calories from the labels on the protein, greens, etc. that you use.

  • Hey Lee, i have a question about protein. From what ive heard, the body can only absorb so much protein every couple of hours. I think it's somewhere around 20-30 grams.

So in this case, the meal you make has 50+ in one serving. What happens to the other 20-30 grams of protein if the body can only use so much?

  • @PainTrainChooChoo

That's an old outdated myth, you can consume and utilize much more then 20 gram of protein at a time. How much protein you need and can use is based on your body size. Ideally you should consume between 1 and 1.5 grams of protein per pound of bodyweight daily. Split this protein intake up over the course of 5-6 meals per day.

  • After taking this for breakfast what kind of shake should i have for post workout? Just water and 2 scoops?

  • @TheReemOne

A good post workout shake would be 50 grams of whey protein and 75 grams of simple carbs such as dextrose mixed in water.

  • @leemheyward is there any liquids that go I to this particular mix? Ie. Milk, water

  • Cool tips, good video thanks!

  • Hey Lee you mentioned Fish oil is Omega 3, 6, 9 better than just the single one, can't remember if it 's the 3 6 or 9? I would assume all 3 is more complete.

  • @NovaScotiaNewfie

Just take omega 3 supplements (i.e. high quality fish oil supplements). We get enough of the other omega 6's & 9's through our "normal diet". It's the 3's we need more of to balance things out.

  • @rogizer your dumb as shit

  • how the hell is it home made dude everything u put in it came out of a jug. stupid

  • @rogizer

    Let me ask you this...

When you make home made anything... (i.e. home made cookies, home made cake, home made muffins, etc.) where do the ingredients come from? Do you magically pull them out of a hat? Do they all just fall out of thin air? Or maybe you actually go to the store and buy them?

The idea is that this is NOT a pre-packaged meal replacement powder, but a "home made version". Just like when mom makes home made cookies.

  • @leemhayward Haha good answer

  • @leemhayward lmao nice answer

  • hemp protein with fiber has none of the industry intestinal sludge after affects

  • Beefy muscle just makes you look fat.

  • when you picked up the whey protein it seemed really light. like it was empty...

  • Cool video, i gunna look into that veggie shit.

  • Im trying to tone as well as bulk. What kind of supplements would you recommend

  • @Joepescie

Just go back and search through my video playlists. I've got a 5 part "Bodybuilding Supplement Guide" video series covering the supplements I use and recommend for building muscle and burning bodyfat.

  • do i need to drink protein shakes on days i am not lifting?

  • @hydra

Yes, you need to consume a high protein diet every day. Muscle growth doesn't just happen while you are in the gym working out. Your body is in a non-stop state of protein turn over.

  • @leemhayward ah i see alright i gotta start making those shakes then. Thank you for the feed back!

  • @hydra when you lift you up your carbs and lower protein by the same amount and on the day you dont lif you do the other way around

  • @SuperSayanFitness

I don't really change my diet from a workout day and a non-workout day. The only difference is that on a non-workout day I won't have my pre and post workout supplements, but everything else stays the same.

  • I use rice protein powder. No sweeteners and vegan.

  • Dehydrate whole vegetables, throw them in a bullet or blender until they become fine powder and you've got your greens! :)

    p.s. Your friend's report is $27...

  • Hey I was wondering what brand of veggie extracts are you using? I heared what you said about brands but I just want an idea :P

  • @LolLayLol

The ones I used here are called "Progressive VegeGreens".

  • dude your a fucking beast

    respect bro

  • Haha nice six pack ( of supplies ) body builder

  • Thanks for the recipe! Here is one that i borrowed from another youtuber, and use it occasionally.

    1 cup of cottage cheese

    1 cup of skim milk

tablespoon of all natural peanut butter

1/2 packet of sugar-free, fat-free jello chocolate pudding mix.

all in a blender. Blend until smooth. chug it down

I like this one especially at night for the casein protein of the cottage cheese.

  • hey could you please tell me where i could find that green veggie powder extract and what it is called?

  • @danteF7o7

Pretty much any supplement shop should carry this. You can also order it online if you can't get it locally.

  • @leemhayward nice video, im considering protein and im wondering how long have you been on it for and when did you start and how old r u now, please reply

  • @TheF2TheInnian

I've been taking protein supplements for over 15 years.

  • @leemhayward and would u reccomend it, becuase iv heard if u stop working out u can get fat

  • @TheF2TheInnian

LOL that's a given... Of course you can gain fat if you stop exercising. I mean do you really think that you can maintain great shape by not working out? That's like saying if I stop making money I'll go broke :-)

  • MY PROFESSOR IS A LICENCED DIETECIAN AND SAYS TOO MUCH PROTEIN CAN CAUSE KETOSIS WHICH CAN KILL YOU BECAUSE PROTEIN CREATES NITROGEN IN THE BODY WHEN BROKEN DOWN.. WHICH CAN KILL YOU IN EXCESS...WHAT DO YOU THINK LEE?

  • @HOTRODRICO

Ask him how many deaths has he seen that's been caused by eating protein??? My guess is a whopping ZERO!

  • how many of these can i take in one day?

  • @GarrettGoodwin1

I recommend having 2-3 protein shakes a day.

  • Had a question, can you use regular oatmeal or does it have to be rolled oats? Is it the same thing?

  • @jaspfs1

Rolled oats is oatmeal, they are the same thing.

  • You have large upper abs like I do....what is that caused by? I always thought it was due to the many years of benching while arching my back.......taking wild guesses of course.

  • @kc550

I've got a pretty thick torso in general, including thick abs. It's just the way you're built it's not necessarily caused by a certain exercise.

  • hallo ... is this effort to make those shakes and meals and spend that kind of money worth to the end effect ?

  • @czarcio333

That really depends on you... I personally value my health and fitness enough to spend money on quality nutrition. But obviously not everyone feels the same way. After all the average Joe would rather spend his money on cigarettes, booze, and lottery tickets LOL

  • @leemhayward i would take it as yes then . how much (on average) do you spend on those shakes and weight gainers? ... i dont drink smoke or play lottery so its all good haha

  • definetly

  • Hey lee I just want to say your videos are great and I've lost 30 pounds using some of your recipes, it would be great if you added more. By the way I live in the U.S. And most stores I've been to have liquid egg whites

  • hey lee, I'm a female that wants to get toned and lose weight because i am going to join the US Marine Corps, i read about the protein supplements what protein supplement would you reccomend for me? ( I'm a big girl 5'5 248 pounds) So how much protein would i need to take a day?

  • @drzjari92

You need to get your bodyfat tested and find out how much bodyfat you have and how much lean mass you have. Then you would eat 1 gram of protein per pound of lean mass daily.

  • @drzjari92

good luck, i just got out of boot 1 month ago, stay motivated

  • @drzjari92 I'm pretty sure there are standards on weight and height in the military, not sure about the corps branch, but I'm in the Navy and if you're 5'5 you can't be over 170 or something like that.

  • Lee I have 2 questions that I would like for you to please answer: What do you eat before going to sleep? And how long do you wait between your last meal and sleep?

  • @UltimateHibz

I'll often have a protein shake right before going to bed. I try to keep my protein high and my carbs low right before bed.

  • ok so i am 16, around 5'8" and weigh around 110 pounds---scrawny i know

i only consume about 1500 calories per day, because i usually don't eat that much

how fast do you think i can build muscle when i start eating 2000-2500 calories or maybe more when i start working out?

it seems like my situation is a bit different from alot of people

you're a real big dude who seems to know what he's talking about so it would rock if i could get some advice from you

  • @TeWarChief

The numbers will vary for everyone, but once you put yourself in a caloric surplus you can realistically gain a pound of solid bodyweight per week. This will really add up over the long term.

  • Thanks Lee. The recipie sounds nasty, but I'll have to get use to it for the better. Thanks again coach Lee.

  • Sweet we use the same protein supplement!

But Lee...doesn't this kinda contradict the use of a protein shake? What I mean by this is the body can process 40g of protein an hour...so anything higher would be useless, correct?

  • @iTzMattz

Well it's not like I'm chugging down shakes every hour on the hour. If you drink this you should be good for 2 or 3 hours before needing to eat again.

  • @leemhayward Ah okay I get it. Makes sense for a long-term sorta meal replacement then.

  • @iTzMattz

That's not true, the amount of protein one can digest will vary on how big you are. But most people will have no problems with 50+ grams of protein per meal.

  • hey im barely starting to work out but i wanna loose the belly fat wat do u think its the best suplement for that or the best work out n whats the best protein to build muscle thanx if u can let me know

  • @OPGVIERTELS MUSCLE TECH BABY, THATS WHAT THE PROS USE

  • @leemhayward what brand of whey protein are you using? I started working out about 2 months ago and I wanna start trying out whey protein but i don't know what brand to get...there's so many. I'm a student so a cheaper brand that you could recommend would be great! thx.

  • @t3chnon3 gold standard whey is good

  • @t3chnon3 A GREAT CHEAP BRAND IS ELITE, SIX STAR MUSCLE, THEN OPTIMUM NUTRITION, ALL DO THE SAME JOB BUT REALLY CHEAP, O.N. GIVES ME GAS THOUGH, ELITES AWSOM, GREAT FLAVORS, NO CLUMPS, MIXES EASY AND TASTE GREAT, TRY THE MINT CHOCOLATE.

  • LOVEE THAT SHIRT LEE CAN I HAVE IT PLZZ

  • Hey Lee, thanks for the video, i was wondering if u think this is a good shake...

1 cup light soy milk (or water)

    1 banana

    1 tbsp natural pb

    1 scoop whey protein

  • Heyyy Hayward!, thanks for the great tips as always! i am just curious to know what brand u use for veggies/fruits powder and rolling(?) oats? Thanks

  • do they contain animals?

  • lee looking lean and vasculr your waist looks smaller!

  • it's pretty good it's okay if i add some fiber for faster digest..

  • hey, kind of unrelated but i was wondering if you knew anything about the lucozade pro muscle drinks? are they any good?

  • Check out who's on the main page of nlabba . com ;)

  • u got big belly !!!

  • Hey Lee, great vid I'll give this a shot! thanks :)

But one question, what is the brand and product name for the Veggie Greens? I'm gonna try and order some directly because I don't think the stuff I have is the same as yours, where it gives about half a dozen portions of vegetables. Mine just has small percentages of a few vegetables per scoop. :S Cheers man. :)

  • @Acid113377

The funny thing is that it was 2 popular "Name Brand" supplements that actually showed up in the high levels for heavy metals. EAS and MuscleMilk.

  • Yeah, seriously. Optimum Nutrition is one of the better brands but I know a lot of people who have used Muscle Milk, and I've seen plenty of ads for it at gas stations. Muscle Milk isn't even significantly more of less costly than a few others that are higher quality. They're just bigger companies. The same is true with food quality and brand names and ingredients. Some companies are bigger but use ingredients like high-fructose corn syrup and hydrogenated oils, vs smaller ones that don't.

  • @wccrispy

Most likely I will compete again next year. Maybe the NL provincials.

  • you're great, man. =)

  • Lee, are you going to prepare for a competition next year?

  • all that hassle just to save a few pence!

  • sure is a lot of maintenance

  • In Canada, rolled-oats come in bags.

  • effin awesome, thanks man!!

  • I love how you call it homemade when your still using protein powder and vege greens. A much better home made shake imo would be:

    1) 1/3 cup oats

    2)banana

    3)blueberries

    4)cup of milk

    5)2 raw eggs

6)tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil

You could adjust this depending on your goals.

This is cheaper and equally healthy. If you're worried about salmonella from raw eggs you could always boil the eggs and throw them in that way.

  • @deniedd y olive oil?

  • @liftinislife91 good fat.

  • @deniedd but then it's not low gl

  • @deniedd

I agree that I'm using the word "homemade" loosely. The main thing I'm focusing on here is saving money and still getting all the nutrients.

  • @deniedd

Another thing is that the shake you mentioned is much higher in carbs and much lower in protein than the one I mention here in the video. Not saying it's "bad", but it's more of a fruit smoothie than a high protein meal replacement shake.

  • @leemhayward lol u tell em Lee

  • @leemhayward However, I did say you can adjust the ingredients according to your needs. IE you could add 3-4 addtional egg whites or like previously mentioned cottage cheese.

  • @deniedd you could also use cottage cheese instead of eggs.

but all of this is not very portable, so a true "meal replacement shake" looks more like the one demonstrated by lee in my opinion. because your "fresh" shake looks more like a real meal ;)

  • @deniedd and make sure theyre free range organic ;)

  • @deniedd so if u buy powder and make ur shake at ur house, its not homemade?

  • @Jugglemisterer Would a mass produced dinner cooked in the microwave for 3 minutes be considered a home made meal? If so, then sure thing man.

  • @deniedd no but if u start from the raw in grediants and combine all the pieces of the meal (ie,. chicken, carrots, peas, self mashed potatos) urself it would be homemade.

  • @deniedd no point for the raw eggs...

    1 1/2 cup milk

    2 tbsp peanut butter

    1 cup yogurt

    1 banana

1 scoop or recommended amount of protein

    good shit

  • @deniedd NOTHING IS HOMEADE CUZ U STILL GOTTA BUY THE BOTTLE OF VIRGIN OIL AND MILK AND BANANAS UNLESS U HAVE A COW, CHICKEN, BANANA TREE AND EXTRACTING THE OIL URSELF FROM THE OLIVES, THEN THAT'LL BE A LITTLE MORE "HOMEADE"

  • @deniedd i dont think boiled eggs in a shake would be too nice aha but the fruit would definitely be a nice in a shake

  • @deniedd sry for bothering yhu but how much bananas and blueberries do i put??

or if yhu have a new better home made shake could yhu plz telll me? thanks!

  • @deniedd salmonella is not the only issue about raw eggs, your body does not absorb the raw egg protein in the same way, you're actually wasting eggs as if you were throwing them away

  • @deniedd @deniedd Your suggestion is nice, but completely different than the "high protein meal replacement" given in the video. Your carb to protein ration is way different, with more carbs than protein. You also have no vegetables in this. I like the raw eggs idea, but I don't think this is equivalent as far as health, and I'm not sure how much cheaper it really is. Seems like around $2.50 a serving to me.

  • sick haircut

  • Where can I buy vege greens?

  • @steveh1010

Any supplement store will carry these.

  • What's the intro music?

  • Awesome advice! Gonna make my own meal replacement shakes now! :)

  • Finally an MRP by the savage beast himself..... been waiting a while for this one

  • Thanks!! Very helpful!

  • how much water r u suppose to use, and can u substitue with milk

  • @silentgui08

This is all personal preference. I usually mix my shakes with 10-15 ounces of water. But you could use milk if you like.

  • I think this kind of food is very synthetic and does not work right

Maybe I should try something more natural like yeast barley

    what better than synthetic food.

  • MISC LYFE

  • I meant *consumer report, not cspan, braine surge...

  • I make meal replacement shake, meal replacements. I just eat a real meal instead of the shake. lol

  • Comment removed

  • I don't agree on the subject of "doesn't matter what brand of protein powder you use" studies have shown that the cheaper brands sometimes have alarmingly high levels of metals such as lead etc.

My opinion is that sticking with a high quality, more well known brand (and yes porbably more expensive) will be better for your health in the long run.

Really enjoy your vids though Lee, thx for all your info!

  • Comment removed

  • @Acid113377

I actually cover the topic of heavy metal in protein powder in my 2nd bodybuilding supplement review video, just go back over my most recent videos and you'll see it. Bottom line they exaggerated this way too much, in fact the consumer report even showed that most protein supplements are safe to use, even when taken in high amounts. Again you should watch the video for all the details.

  • @leemhayward I still think sticking with the quality brands is more beneficial for your health in the long run... your 5 part series on supps. is amazing btw. thanks a lot for the info!

  • veggie extract! I must find me some veggie extract

  • now how do you blend that up?? that is so much powder!

any tips on what to do AFTER you have all your powders in check?

  • @probassangler31

I just add water and shake it up in a shaker cup. It mixed fine. It's all powder and nothing needs to be "blended up".

  • Thank you Lee! :) I shall go hunt some veggie extract now! maybe i'll check GNC they should have it, im pretty sure GNC would cost alot more; so do you recommend any other place i can try for more reasonable amount so i can stock up on them?
