It's great that you're all bias based on a time era, but I am not. I think any new artist who sings this type of music is just paying tribute to the music they love and there is nothing wrong with that. If you are so stuck in one frame of mind, maybe you should have killed yourself back during this time, so that you wouldn't have to suffer the horrors of this generation as you so often put it. I remember seeing those lips take up the whole television screen in the early 60's on top of the pops when I was about seven.It was like being struck by lightning,and it fixed in my mind the glorious chemistry between female sensuality and pop music.

I thought they were the most beautiful girls at my HS, George Washington HS in NYC . Tiny, petite and Nedra was very sweet. Proud of the success they had and their induction into the Hall of Fame. Let's face it folks LIFE happens to us all, and we all need faith, love and a support system. I was touched by Estelle's death and moved to tears, not that she died, but the way she died. I never did hear of a memorial service. But, I'm a Ronettes fan and they gave something special.

Estelle was mentally ill and her illness had nothing to do with drugs. Because most people are ignorant about mental illness, when someone's behavior is "off" there's an automatic assumption that it's drug related, especially if they're a performer or celeb.
Real-pretty ladies; all of them. They're also quite talented. I was only five years old when they sang this song. It makes me wish that I had been older though so I could have enjoyed listening to them more at the time. What do you know when you're only five years old right? Ronnie is such a heart-throb, real sweetheart too. History will certainly never forget these great ladies. Thanks to all of them for all their great music! :)

The best film of this recording. Ronnie sang OVER the instrumental (only her vocal track was removed). This allowed her not to have to lip sync and embellish the vocal line for a live audience. Super!

As someone who appreciates vintage music, Beyonce has a lot of talent. She's good at what she does and she sings much better than her peers. It's so funny how people bash many of today's stars, but twenty years from now, they'd be praising them!
This is an overlooked gem in the girl group tradition. That Ronnie was born with a great talent. You can't learn to do what she could do. Not to say that she can't do it now, but she was in her prime at such an early age.

From our view, watching the video...no....Estelle is on the right. That is her cousin Nedra Talley on the far left. (Ronnie in the middle, of course.)
Look at Estelle on the right, how great she looks, how she moves, that gorgeous hair!! Estelle was never the same after the Ronettes broke up. She was quiet, but she loved the life...she loved dressing up, and she always read Vogue and Glamour for ideas for their dresses. When the Ronettes split up in late 1966 Estelle realized that the excitement went out of her life. She fought emotional and physical health issues the rest of her life...and for her to die in her apartment...it is so sad.
It is very sad. What happned to Estelle is like what happened to Wanda of the Marvelettes. They never got over the break up of their groups and their health deteriorated as a result.

I thought they were the most beautiful girls at my HS, George Washington HS in NYC . Tiny, petite and Nedra was very sweet. Proud of the success they had and their induction into the Hall of Fame. Let's face it folks LIFE happens to us all, and we all need faith, love and a support system. I was touched by Estelle's death and moved to tears, not that she died, but the way she died. I never did hear of a memorial service. But, I'm a Ronettes fan and they gave something special.

Estelle was mentally ill and her illness had nothing to do with drugs. Because most people are ignorant about mental illness, when someone's behavior is "off" there's an automatic assumption that it's drug related, especially if they're a performer or celeb.

Real-pretty ladies; all of them. They're also quite talented. I was only five years old when they sang this song. It makes me wish that I had been older though so I could have enjoyed listening to them more at the time. What do you know when you're only five years old right? Ronnie is such a heart-throb, real sweetheart too. History will certainly never forget these great ladies. Thanks to all of them for all their great music! :)

The best film of this recording. Ronnie sang OVER the instrumental (only her vocal track was removed). This allowed her not to have to lip sync and embellish the vocal line for a live audience. Super!

This is my all time fav of the girls. Though they had an amazing amount of fab songs including Paradise, this always got to me. Ronnie's voice is just the greatest but Nadia was really the one who I noticed. (RIP Estella)

Why should a bunch of light skinned hispanics play them? You have some nerve. These were black women--yeah yeah, they are technically mixed raced, but the world sees them as black. In America, we have the one drop rule. None of them have hispanic ancestry except for Nadia and it's only half. Tiger Woods and Barack Obama are mixed raced, but are classified as BLACK. I know what you mean. I have the Phil Spector Box Set at Home and when I first heard it I was blown away. Phil Spector sometimes was too far ahead of his time. Remember, alot of his songs had Classical Instruments that people didn't think fit in properly in Rock 'N Roll.

This is an overlooked gem in the girl group tradition. That Ronnie was born with a great talent. You can't learn to do what she could do. Not to say that she can't do it now, but she was in her prime at such an early age.

Look at Estelle on the right, how great she looks, how she moves, that gorgeous hair!! Estelle was never the same after the Ronettes broke up. She was quiet, but she loved the life...she loved dressing up, and she always read Vogue and Glamour for ideas for their dresses. When the Ronettes split up in late 1966 Estelle realized that the excitement went out of her life. She fought emotional and physical health issues the rest of her life...and for her to die in her apartment...it is so sad.
