  • Cars from 1962-68 were tops. Beautiful looking "Chief", partner. Sounds fantastic. I love a bigger car with a 4 speed. Good stuff.

  • My first car was a 68 GP. You have a great car there. I would love to own another one day. Thanks for sharing!

  • Very very nice.....looks spotless everywhere.

  • Oh yea, she sounds as good in the new video with the 068 cam. It is hard to hear the motor with the Charger running, but the GP sounds great. It is one of my dream cars along with the Catalina 2 + 2 and others.

  • This is the best sounding motor on youtube. Does it sound as good with the stock cam now? You gotta go stock, regardless.

  • @bg147 Thanks, I think it sounds better and performs better with the 068. I posted a vid of it running with the 068 along with my Charger. Check it out and let me know what you think.

  • Pontiacs RULE. Great car. I have a 74 SD455T/A. Torque monsters.

  • Beautiful car, and sounds great. I had a '68 Catalina with the Ventura trim package back in the day. I only regret now not ordering it with the 428 4 speed package.

  • i love it, its killer

  • I have just an automatic 68 gp but i wanna see more of them on here. I feel like a king when i drive mine...in the process of being rebuilt i have a parts car and my restore and a dude has one so just three in my state that i know of :-)

  • Very nice looking car. I especially like the mag wheels. Sweet!

  • really a beautiful car!

  • factory headers aslo,,,correct? - mine did!

  • Cool! Check out my 68 Grand Prix 428 4-speed:)

  • A beauty! I have a 68 GP 428 HO, 4sp, black on black, but no tach and 8 lug wheels. It has no power except steering. Any idea how many 68 GP's were built in this combo?

  • dude, 3 1/2 minutes and you didn't get to the back of the car.

nice car, would have liked to see the whole thing.

  • Flawless beauty. I'd love to have one of these from the golden age of American cars.

  • '68 Grand Prixs are rare enough, not to mention a 428 4speed. This is one awesome car!!!

  • Now That is a Car,,,,GTO Judge,,,,,Grand Prix Executioner,,,,,My 1999 GP GT Doesn,t Even come close,,,So That is why I,m dropping a 1975 GP 400 into a 1998 GP GTP,,,I miss that sound,,had a 1969 GP 400 and a 1974 Formula 400,,Pontiac Big Blocks just have That sound to be Reckoned with,,,,The Iron Indian eats Mustangs and shits road runners

  • love the key in the dash...good ol days

  • Thanks for all the great comments. Since the video I pulled the motor out due to a leaking rear main seal ( neoprene style) I used the new graphite rope seal which completely eliminated the leak. I also installed the 068 cam and love the overall performance. I'll have the car at the Madera Ca. Pontiac show on the 30th of April.

  • Man that's sweet! I've got a 69 Firebird with the 428... it's not #'s matching though. In the process right now... cant wait to get it finished! Take it easy!

  • NICE beast!

  • Very nice looking '68 GP,i'm guessing since it has long branch manifolds it's a 428 HO car.

  • Back when GM made real cars. Those were the days....

  • sweet

  • Is that the stock 068 cam?

    Nice car!

  • @Bonneville462

Thanks, the cam is just a bit bigger than an 068. I will be installing an 068 in the near future.

  • @428grandprix Use the 722. It will work great with what you have. what is your comp. ratio.

  • Graduated from high school in 69' and got a 68"Grand Prix in the exact color that you have. Was and still is a beautiful car. Sad to say, I don't have mine any longer .

  • Beautiful car!

  • what a classy beast.

  • My 99' gp gt is missing 2 main things: rwd, manual, they should have left the gp's rwd

  • Hey Dave, You out there? Contact me if you want to see another 68' GP 428 4spd..

  • The 428 is an absolute torque monster. I had a 1969 428 in a 69 tempest and i could lay rubber on demand, even at speed. I loved that car...

  • Nice ride! I have 2- 68' GP's. The first is a 400 w/at and air, in Nightshade Green. The other is the same car, 428 4spd with factory 8 lugs and highly optioned, in Solar Red. We should talk.

  • That is a hell of a car, I had the pleasure of owning a 1968 GP, myself and really enjoyed it mine was a 400 automatic but still a great car that i still mis to this day.

  • nice. I had one a few years ago in rough condition

    now have a '67 gp 4spd

The big cars can be fun

  • i have one of these but automatic...running condition sitting in my backyard

  • man that is bad as hell would love to have it !!!!!! my dads got a 74 with a 400 and i have a 99 gtp and a 02 gpgt with a turbo thats putting down around 350 to the wheels fwd!!! but anyway i trade my turbo and supercharged gp's for yours !!!! Nice ride

  • Greetings for all those people that own a full size 68 Pontiac a 67-68 firebird arrowhead emblem (rubber) works great .most Pontiac parts houses sell them for under $30.00.

  • is that a factory cam?

  • What a beauty!

I almost bought one back in 1975, but couldn't afford it...I'm now looking for one.

Please consider me if you wish to sell her...I'm willing to pay top dollar.

    Keep up the good work!

  • Did you have to replace your nose emblem when you restored it? I'm fixing up my '68 GP and haven't been able to find one. I envy those who have more than a rusted piece of metal adorning their nose.

  • I found an NOS one in 95. Very hard item to find since it's a 1 year only emblem. I haven't checked if anybody is remaking them, I should cuz I'm in need of another one.

  • @pyr0static Try a 68? Firebird nose emblem bolt w/ the top stud & cut off the bottom stud , use a little glue and that is as close as your gonna get. It matches the conture of the F/S nose and worked great on my 68 bonne. hope this helps.

  • @ponyyak68

Well shoot, it's worth a shot... Thanks for the idea.

  • @pyr0static Ames Performance Engineering sell's parts only for Pontiac's 1955-1976 Full size Pontaic's and 1962-1977 GP's. you should be able to get an emblem from them no problem if your still looking for one.

  • @pyr0static Ames Performance Engineering sell's nothing but Pontiac parts for 1955-76 Full Size Pontaic's and 1962-1977 GP's. you should be able to get an emblem from them no problem if your still looking for in.

  • @Motox339 I checked them long ago, Ames Performance lists no nose emblems for a '68 GP. It's a one year body style so the emblems for the previous and next year don't fit. The '68 wasn't a popular car, either, so some parts are just really hard to find.

  • Sweet!!!

  • five stars, good to see someone else with a g.p

  • Really nice. Love the 428/4spd. Any chance you`d sell or know of another one?

  • This is the only one I have ever seen in person. I have seen a few on ebay and could only locate 8 of them years back. I've owned her since 87 and it would take a lot for me to give her up.

  • Thanks. It's an original 375 horse motor, I added the manifolds. I used to race it on the El Camino in San Jose and never lost, total sleeper. I ate my share of ZR1 vettes and turbo 911's on the freeway also. I know if I ever sold it I would feel the same as you about yours. You should try to track yours down, that's a rare car!

  • @428grandprix my dad back in the 70's owned a 69 Grand Prix (the smaller one) with the 390hp 428 HO, it was an automatic though.

  • @428grandprix: How high was your top end?

  • @MiracleMile90 I burried the speedo with 3 of my friends in the car against a red ZR-1 Vette on 680 in San Jose. The guy was a little upset cuz his girlfriend was laughing at him.

  • @428grandprix Nothing against the Toronado or Riviera-Both great cars-But they have nothing over the GP when it comes to personal luxury car,in my opinion. I owned a couple Toros and Riviera but my 73 GP was my favorite of all. You have a fine piece of machinery there-don't ever sell it.

  • @365degrees Thanks, It's been 15 years since I restored it. Of the GM's I still love the Pontiacs the best but a nice Riviera always gets my attention.

  • @365degrees Thanks, It's been 15 years since I restored it. Of the GM's I still love the Pontiacs the best but a nice Riviera always gets my attention.

  • @365degrees damn right!!! GPs are the top of the luxury chain, check out my vid of my bros 73 GP burnin off the skins and let me know what you think.

  • Your car is beautiful. I once owned a Maroon 428 H.O. 4-speed and regret ever selling it. Is yours an H.O.? I see the H.O. exhaust manifolds in the video. As I recall shifting from 2nd to 3rd and floorboarding the accelerator was quite the thrill. You would not think a 4200 lb car could move so fast! I bet yours is the same. Please coment back. If your ever decide to sell I would like first crack at it although after looking at the video it looks like your pride and joy!!!! Excellent workmanship!
