  • I remember this movie and i still love it...i hope no one ever remakes it...this song is "fab"...it would be a shame if the likes of Hollywood remade this and had "Will Smith" play "SIR".....please never........

  • Sidney's got some moves!

  • Hi from Czech Republic, I love this film and this scene, very beautiful :)

  • silly comments ...racism must die

  • magnificence

  • I knew Sidney can dance.

  • I was 14 when this movie came out. Loved it then and still love it now What a great movie!

  • '@twain 103, find a woman and grow up , little boy.

  • I LOOOOOVE THIS...

  • (2) standing around with with big grins on their faces as the two dance in the year of 1967. England circa 1967 was not a friendly place for Blacks and it still isn't today. The film industry is always putting out a product that is unrealistic in an effort to brainwash the White general public into accepting left wing point of views that are pure fantasy. They (Hollywood and other film meccas) have been doing it for decades or longer and I am tired of this phony baloney.

  • @MrBEB123 youre a piece of shit to the human race.. go to hell, your a rightwing jerkoff that would rather see people starve, all different colors of the world apart, just for ur dumn as ideal... dont worry, liberals can kick ass too.

  • @tommieparch Liberals are liars. The real story on "Blacks" is that they have killed over 50,000 Whites just in the U.S. and just since 1965. Explaining the truth so that others will know is not a sin.

  • @MrBEB123 i hate nigger rappers & gang bangers. but i have other black friends that hate them too. liberal is looked at differently, just as right wing is too , many different views on both... there was nothing wrong with this movie!

  • @MrBEB123 you're a sad little boy. You want to talk statistics? How many white people have killed other white people..or killed black people for that matter? I se you also hate jews. That I'd say is more out of petty jealousy. You're not telling the truth. You're telling your version of what you think is true and your version is tainted with alot of anger.

  • @MrBEB123 The downside of the internet and free speech (without consequences) is garbage like this.

  • @ParkerAllen2 The downside to Jew controlled Hollywood is their one sided brainwashing movies that they like to put out.

  • @MrBEB123 SUCH HATRED ,JEALOUS MUCH!!!

  • @twain103 No not really I just think that Blacks or anyone else should be put front and center unless they really have earned it. In this film Sidney Poitier plays a teacher and I have never known of any Black instructor that ever did a very good job, that would certainly be my personal experience. Also I find it highly improbable that a large group of White Students in England would all be standing around a Black Male instructor and White Female student would be standing around (continued)

  • @MrBEB123 So you probably dislike any films like The Bourne Identity, Supremacy, and Ultimatum since in your personal experience you never were trained for a covert black ops organization, ended up getting amnesia and forgot your identity and then slowly regained your memory with the help of a woman in the CIA? Since that hasn't happened in your personal experience obviously you must dislike those films or any other film that you haven't experienced. Maybe just watch home videos from now on.

  • @acmarietti The rain falls on your parade every day!!

  • @bongo46 Huh?

  • im 16, and this movie was made waay before i was even born. people like to say that my generation dont know good music, well, this is one of my favorite movies, and To Sir, With Love is one of my favorite songs.

  • I love it tooooooo. She reminds me of that singer Duffy (Mercy)

  • Love this song, the bass rocks. Would have loved to be in London during the swinging 60's.

  • This song is still Hott!!!

  • i really love this song i think that i live in the wrong year i love the 60's !!! (i'm 23 years old)

  • @nyuivandori me too!!! My mother and I should have switched decades!!!

  • Really a great scene. I love this movie.

  • I first saw this movie in English class and I loved it! :]

  • Doesn't gazing upon the face of Miss Geeson make you wish that you savored your highschool years? Attention to all the youngsters, if you have good health and a good family life during these precious but few years of your life. You too will look back and realized how fleeting and unappreciative you were of them. Don't it always seem to go that you don't know what you've got til it's gone.

  • @trinitylancer Well said.

  • A jolly groovy scene this was.

  • Thos was the movie of all time sidney I love you, everytime i see this movie tears come to my eyes.

    Forever in my Heart

  • I uploaded the sequel.

  • I've always loved this scene "ladies' choice"....really a great film here.

  • One of my favourite films and favourite scenes from it. Sidney Poitier and Judy Geeson do a wonderful job!!

  • MY favourite movie of all times. Absolutely the most brilliant movie ever made. Very touching ending.

  • I love this scene! One of the best movies ever. Thank you so much for posting this!

  • @IlBdt I agree, one of the nicest scenes from the movie - and very controversial at the time.

  • I love this scene! One of my very favorite movies. Thank you so much for posting it!

  • these students were naughty by today's standards. Nowadays the are criminals, in fact schools in the US, especially in large cities like LA, NY, Miami, had to install metal detectors. And poor of the teacher who tries to discipline them because they get sued.

  • @imreallyclever here we go playing " kids are so bad today" card..

  • Gives me hope that someday racism in america will go away

  • @kwumey here we go again pulling the race card

  • @imreallyclever interesting how you play the "guilt and denial card" so easily.. love how people want to deny its existence and act like we all get along soooo well.. If it makes you sleep better at nite.. keep your head firmly tucked in your backside..

  • This scene never fails to make me laugh - Sidney Poitier set back the cause of black men's dancing by at least ten years with this scene! God, but he's SUCH a bad dancer here! I wonder if his boys still bust his balls for this? But even with his imitation of the Tin Woodsman here, he's otherwise great in this film.

  • When they remake this someday, I hope Duffy plays her part in the film!

  • Now that Im watching this again,it appears that theyre RUNNING away from each other instead of dancing together (LOL)

  • Classic song and scene...

  • This is one of my all time favorite movies!!!!!! I was only 10 yrs. old when it came out. They just don't get any better than this! Thanks!

  • Get down SIdney!!!! I'm bringing this dance back (if it was EVER out)

  • Comment removed

  • One of the best dance scenes in a movie not actually about dancing.

  • this guy must have had a raging hard on during this scene!

  • One of my all-time favorite movies....Go Sidney!!!

  • @mzneel Part of Mr. Poitier's 1967 'Trifecta'. I am sure you know the other two movies.

    Happy Thanksgiving.

  • @Juliaflo Were the other two movies "Guess Who's Coming To Dinner?" and "In The Heat of The Night"?

  • @57highland Yessssss!.

    Have a good summer.

  • lol...Sidney know he cannot dance....but this is one of my favorite movies....he is and was a great actor

  • Sidney Poitier is a class act. He is a wonderful actor!

  • "Sir" had a sense of propriety so he didn't hit on Miss Dare.If I was in his place I doubt that I could have resisted.Great,*great* film....on many levels.

  • Sidney Poitier A-GO-GO!!!

  • This is my fav this has nothing to do with sex this girl never has anyone in her life that had a education. This is my fav part of the movie

  • ooohhhh, I just LOVE this scene !!! It's great !!!

  • I love this movie.

  • Darling film..and it's message still holds up today.

  • i get chills when i see this. i love, love, love this movie!

  • Look at brother Poitier putting his back into it!! Cute.

  • @LoverLover711..you're a pig.

  • saw this movie in the theater when i was 9 and have loved it ever since. this is one of my favorite scenes. judy is beautiful, the song is great, and the conclusion of this scene brings tears. oh and who knew that sidney could dance

  • great memories of this movie

  • Actually who's the girl at 2:06,I LOVE short haired brunettes. Her hair style really attracts me,and pretty face.

  • @LookSquirrel

Yes, I was thinking the same thing. A very cute girl.

  • I NEVER GET TIRED OF THIS SCENE...

  • donde puedo encontrar musica como esta ?

  • judy geeson is so cute isnt she?

  • Next time ya'll watch SIR again, listen when he distributes a card to the students so they'll be covered by National Health Insurance.

LOL USA->40 yrs behind England. Hopefully not for long and not for another 40 yrs.

  • AMEN!

  • Perfect scene and song.. I love it!!

  • best scene in the movie, by far!!

  • who was the band playing this tune.........anyone knows??? the Mindbenders???

  • Yes, you are correct.. the band is "the mindbenders".. wonderful song!!!

  • Luciana7786....thanks partner, I think I need to pick up this movie @ the video store and replay it. I remember it back in 67, I was a 10th grader and wrote a book report on the movie.......what a great actor

    Sidney is..........

  • The name of the band is The Mindbenders.

  • I should be forgiven, but I would have loved a throw with Ms. Dare!

  • "A" throw. You mean, one throw? How about a dozen or so?

  • I like the song..always wanted to know the name of the group and song..has a nice lil sound ..so sixties..i was kid in grade school when this came out.the desk and classrooms look the same as america.small crowded with bad kids lol

  • this post rocks

  • I saw this movie 9 times when I was in my teens, coudn't get enouch ! The cast the music it is to me still a waw!

  • The actors and actresses who played the students were not seen after this movie or at least I hav't seen them.

  • Lulu who played Babs, has had a high profile, had a UK Top 10 in 03, as a duet, even had a No.1 in the 90s in the UK! Chris Chittell who played Potter, has been in the UK Soap Opera, Emmerdale for the last 25 years! Patricia Routledge who played Clinty Clintridge, was the star, in a succesful British sitcom of the 90s called 'Keeping up appearances!' And Judy Geeson who played Pamela Dare, works in the U.S, shes been in episodes of Gilmore Girls,Mad about you,Star Trek Voyager.............etc!

  • It's nice to hear that all those folks didn't fade away after just one success.

But how about Christian Roberts? (Denham)

  • Christian Roberts is now in the hotel business in Barbados.

  • Nice gig!

  • Yeah, Sidney! Get down!!

  • I love this song! It always gets stuck in my head after watching this movie!!!;)

  • Can you get any cuter then Judy Geeson is pigtails. Talk about shag-a-licious.

  • Yes, the pigtails were the perfect touch! (We should bring them back.)

  • The last 15 seconds of this knocks me over every time. No words...but moving on so many levels.

  • I always loved this movie. sidney portier is the best in all his movies.

  • Cleatus, that's about the stupidest thing I've seen anybody write. He didn't sleep with her because she's a student. He has morals, something I'm sure you know nothing about. Oh yeah, you're also a vulgar piece of garbage.

  • I'm 20 and the girls you say are pretty sit fine with me,but the asian and girl at 2:06 are very attractive to me.

  • not sure if she's asin, but she's definitely super cute

  • I think the best looking girl was the blonde teacher. She was more beautiful then any of the other girls. Just my opinion.

  • Well, I would just refuse to choose between the blonde teacher and the blonde student dancing here and simply demand to have them both.

  • I can put your mind at rest, I had them both and it was very poor. Now Dot Cotton and Anne Widdecome, they sexed me up big style.

  • Dot and Anne--plain looking girls? Plain looking girls are known to do it better.

  • she was chinese not asian.

  • Lulu have great boobs too

  • Love this bit of the movie!!!! What a cool teacher he is!!!!

  • Yes she was. I wonder what she is doing now. Anyone know?

  • great scene from the movie... unforgettable *.*

  • awesome!

  • When I first saw this movie I fell in love with it.

  • Judy Gleeson was so hot in this movie! Great eyes and a great smile. One of my all time favorite movies. Can watch it anytime!

  • Geeson

  • You're right about Judy. She was the hotty of her era.

  • Is this song only for the movie or can you get it somewhere?

  • I loved this movie growing up and still do because it reminds me of the junior high school I went to in Queens, NY. I also had a crush on LuLu and the babe dancing with Sidney Poitier, I think her name is Judy Gleeson. She was sooo fn cute! Also, the group that sings this song are "The Mindbenders." Not a bad band.

  • I love this movie! All others that followed in its kind paled in comparison.

  • hes such a fab dancer...

    can be my partner anytime

    smiles

  • Bravo!

  • I LUV THIS ONE :D

  • Perfect, and the title and year, all correct, was always a favorite, and my 7 year old daughter loves your video as well, excellent job!

  • Damn, Mr. Thackery, you could bust a move!

  • chevere baile!

  • Remember this from way back,Love the film-brilliant...........featuring the very sexy Judy Gleeson(i think that's her name?)

Everbody should watch this wonderful film at least 2x times in there life!!

    Lol

  • I've seen this movie more than two times lol and I loved it! I love this movie!

  • You are correct. Judy Gleeson. I had the biggest crush on her and LuLu. Forget about it!

  • Judy Geeson.

  • Pam!

  • Eu amo essa musica!

    I love, this song!

  • Does anybody know the name of the song the band plays before this one?

  • That's the Mindbenders. They rock! :D

  • the mindbenders its called OFF AND RUNNING

  • Lol I could only imagine you mislabeled the song. Off and running is lesely gore and is also featured in the movie. This is "Getting harder all the time" by The Mindbenders.

  • Would that be Wayne Fontana and the Mindbenders? Lulu's band, which she fronted at the ripe old age of fifteen, was The Luvvers.

  • Does anyone know who sings this song and what the title is?

  • The song is "To Sir, With Love", sung by Lulu.

  • Er... sorry, wrong song. :P I don't know what is the actual one. Heh.

  • The mindbenders: it's getting harder all the time.

  • 03:27 - I used to gaze at my geography teacher like that...'til I found out he was gay :(. Oh my god he wore the tightest trousers! lol.

  • Samba

  • What is Sidney dancing? The Fruug? The Boogaloo? ...he get's a little free form at the end but it'd be fun to know...somebody help!

  • It looks like Sidney was following, so you'd have to ask Pam what SHE was dancing!

  • Why is this movie addicting? It really shouldn't be but it is. It's just so charming.

  • I'd dance with Sidney any day..:)

    Great movie....

  • This movie is incredible!

If I could just find it (new) on dvd for under $130!

  • i've watched this video for hours and still not fed up wit it .. very nice clip and movie

  • I love this song and the movie. Who sings this?

  • Awesome... real 1960's

  • i was wrong the guy is michael des barres

  • was the guy who often had the sunglasses on was that chris deburgh who in the early eighties done the song dont pay the ferryman

  • LoL, not to sound dumb but the way the song sounds reminds me of scooby doo cartoons.

  • The group is "The Mindbenders" and the lead singer was quite the looker

  • Wayne Fontana? Phwoar, yeah, not arf! ;)
