  • light can be accelerated to 300 times the speed of light according to Kent Hovind, and he also gave that statement to the IRS and landed in jail for tax and light fraud... What a sanctimonious moron he is.

BTW the speed of light is 299 792 458 m / s (that's meters per second) try wrapping your mind around that concept Mr Hovind, now that you have all the time in the world to read some books

  • Kent Hovind - "Well you're giving it a name but that's not telling me what it is." hmmmmm sounds familiar......

  • Very interesting arguments...but I would have asked Hovind this one simple thing....."Your arguments are based around the assumption that your biblical truth is absolute.....Therefore....BY WHAT FUCKING RIGHT DO YOU CLAIM TO KNOW THE 'TRUTH'??"

  • The reason these dumbasses are able to tape the interview, transmit it to a low-earth orbit satellite which then transmits it to receivers on earth and then to individual homes is a direct result of the fact that we know the speed of light to a very high degree of accuracy. Fucktards.

  • IS THERE A PART 2??????

  • @innergame05 no, you don't. all you have to assume is that light is traveling in a straight line, except for gravitational effects. but i think we can all agree on that.

if you disagree, can you please explain why you think the speed of light is important in this calculation? cause i can not see any way in which it would matter.

  • also its a theory we cant know the speed of light.. ask scientist peter akins who choked when william lane Craig called that out.

  • @marcella83able William Lane Craig is a joke.

  • sadly physicist will admit that they dont know what energy is.

  • @marcella83able do you

  • well if either time or lightspeed are variable then u can't measure lightspeed accurately until u understand the variables.

  • he says we don't know the distance of the stars? are you serious? all you have to do is take 2 telescopes that are far away from each other and each one will see the star at a slightly different angle. you measure the angles and the distance between the telescopes and use some trigonometry to calculate the distance. seriously, a high scholl student could do the math. at least here in germany i had questions like that in like 10th grade.

  • @42lebenuniversumrest u still have to find out if lightspeed is accurate, Einstein says either time or lightspeed are variable.

  • its like there explaining it to a child.

  • How long is a piece of string theory guys.

Depends how stretchy your rubber ruler is. (Tee-Hee)

By the way debating how old earth is ceases to hold perspective if one side of the argument refuses to acknowledge sunspots are where the star is already burning it's iron due to low hydrogen levels & the other claims an angry theo-magical cosmic psycho with unlimited power & love wants to destroy earth with the same spooky cosmic magic he used to create both it & us after 7 hard days & nights.

  • Stomped

  • correction=geology

  • Boy, this Hovind is as dumb as a rock or he faking.By his comments he shows that he has absolutely no knowledge of geoligy or physic, what a jerk.

  • Hovind says that it's "silly for little humans on earth to say we know the distance to those stars" and yet he is fine with those same little humans knowing everything about god. What nonsense.

  • @ghostframer he doesn't say he knows everything about God, in another video (debate at Florida university) he says humans cannot or can only perceive God, but not understand him.

  • hovind is a complete dumb shit

  • People who come here just to say "believe in your evolution religion if you want, i believe in God's words" is just disgusting imo. If your mind is already so made up, why are you here on discussion board? You know very well you cannot be convinced any otherwise, so why bother posting?

I think you guys just want to spread your religion, well guess what, you have failed. Every post you make further reveals your ignorance in science and flawed logics. Congrats. Keep it up.

  • @Casshyr we post for people who don't know the truth. God's words have never been proven wrong, but the theories of evolution and big bang have major problems associated with them. They are based on faith, just as Christianity is. You are absolutely right that I cannot be convince otherwise because I know the truth and I have a relationship with the living God. However, you might be convinced of the truth by having a more open mind. That would make posting on here well worth it.

  • @RestoredHumanity I think EVERYBODY in North America or Europe (i.e. those with access to youtube) have heard of your Bible, Jesus, and your religion (i.e. Christianity). There is no one left in a 1st world nation that hasn't heard of this, unless in extreme poverty or mentally challenged. People don't come here to learn about your religion lol. You can't spread your gospel via internet, especially through something like youtube! If that's ur purpose, i suggest you find better use of ur time!

  • Hovind totally got owned here...at the end, he realizes on a scientific level he couldn't argue with this actual PhD astronomer, so he resorts to logic essentially going "Bible is right over science.."

  • I really wish someone would not allow Kent Hovind to talk over people. Notice, he does this when his beliefs are refuted.

  • so much fail lmao

  • I'm glad Hovind is in jail. Now his bullshit can at least stay local.

  • God says in Genesis that He created light on the first day, but didnt create the sun and stars untill the fourth day. If the author of Genesis were trying to trick people into believing in a god then why would he say light was created before the stars, when clearly the light came from these stars. There is obviously some divine intervention going on in the creation of the stars and light

  • They slowed light to one mile per hour? WTF? Kent Hovind needs to just go away

  • @brother234 hovind has no idea what he is talking about

  • @2xtream so you're saying you have no real reason to believe there is a god? Thats the difference between you and me, i see no reason to believe in god (lack of evidence, the irrationality of it etc.) and therefore i don't, you have no reason to believe in god but still you choose against your rational thinking.

  • hovind wasn't owned in this video at all. In fact, it was funny when his opponent said light is a Photon, a packet with waves, which is really just an observation of how it seems to act. The fact is it isn't proof, only interpretation, just as Hovind claims. and the debate ends without resolving this argument. no one is owned, only leaves more questons after seeing it.

  • @2xtream WHY do you believe in the existance of God?

  • @AngryHumanoid Only a fool says in their hart there is no God...

  • During Hovind's trial, Hovind tried to justify why he didn't pay his taxes by saying he was "doing God's work, and that doesn't require taxes". He also put many of his employees down as "missionaries" to avoid extra benefit taxes on that. What a fucking douchebag. I myself am not an atheist but I rather have a law-abiding atheist than this fucking hypocrite.

  • Listening to Kent Hovind is like getting an anal probe with a section of flaming barbed wire fence while watching Farsi dubbed reruns of Growing Pains with the audio of Yoko Ono's voice exercises blaring through the speakers of an abandoned Big Boys Drive through allowed to rest in the mossy water of Jerry Falwell's naval warmed by the sun at an evengelical conference run by Billy Graham who has locked himself inside his suite to masturbate to the video of Kent Hovind defending creation.

  • there was absolutely NO schooling done here.

  • Kent Hovind is a absolute moron.

  • The Red Sea Parting and Chariots found at the bottom = proven fact

The 10 commandments tablets found = proven fact

Noah's ark found = proven fact

The ark of the covenant found = proven fact

The blood of Yeshua found alive with only 24 chromosomes = proven fact

    Just to name a few....

    1 Timothy 4:1

Now the Spirit speaketh expressly that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils,

    I'll take God's word~

  • @2xtream Your post is the biggest load of crap ever spewed. The Red Sea Parting? Crap. The 10 commandments tablets found? Crap. Where? Noah's Ark? Same thing. Where? Same for the AOC and blood of Yeshua! What fantasy novel have you been reading? I would love to see all of these fairystories in the flesh. God probably doesn't exist given the evidence and Jesus most certainly didn't exist. You've been lied to.

  • @ponchred all is true.. I wanted to point out that YOU have decided not to follow God nor his written word by choice. Yes YOU have decided and that's ok. Most go to hell, your in a big group not to worry... I just wanted to show you that YOU have made your choice so YOU are without excuse... If what I say is true, ya think ya just might want to spend 5min of time in a search to see? Naw you wouldn't want to do that, you want to play world of war craft...

  • @2xtream Sir, the Bible is littered with a veritable plethora of utterly absurd fairy tales and malevolent acts allegedly committed by your god. Evolution completely disproves the myth of Creation, diseases aren't caused by sin, the earth isn't geocentric, and leprosy cleansing doesn't result from the "sprinkling of bird's blood".

Also, women don't turn into salt and they aren't made from ribs, and men don't live in whale bellies for three days. The Bible is a book of bronze-age myths.

  • @CynicalSkeptic1 Your faith in evolution is grand. I however have faith in God, his written word and spirit...

  • @2xtream You said "Your faith in evolution is grand."

Evolution is proven, even if we completely disregard all the transitional fossils which have been found...DNA sequence comparison confirms evolutionary theory.

As far as your "faith in God, his written word and spirit..."...then obviously you should beat your unruly children to death and take your AK-47 down to Home Depot on Sunday and do your god's work!

  • @CynicalSkeptic1 contrary to your belief. Evolution is a false teaching, given to you with good measure to bind the easy pray... All you have are lies from those with degenerate dreams and self-gratification at hart... This is evil and you have been duped... Time to listen to what you know is true, and part of mans myths and fairy-tails... I bet you believe a bank is a good place to keep money, and the government never lies to the people as-well...

    You are the end result

  • @2xtream "contrary to your belief. Evolution is a false teaching, given to you with good measure to bind the easy pray..."

I'm sorry Sir, but evolutionary theory is being put to practical use in industry and widely used on a DAILY basis by researchers in medicine, biochemistry, molecular biology, and genetics to both formulate hypotheses about biological systems for the purposes of experimental design, as well as to rationalize observed data and prepare applications.

  • @2xtream Excerpt: James McCarter of Divergence Incorporated states that the work of 2001 Nobel Prize winner Leland Hartwell which has substantial implications for combatting cancer relied heavily on the use of evolutionary knowledge and predictions. McCarter points out that 47 of the last 50 Nobel Prizes in medicine or physiology also depended on the use of EVOLUTIONARY theory.

Scientists don't win Nobel Prizes in medicine and physiology based on a theory that doesn't actually exist.

  • @2xtream Atomic Theory, Theory of Matter and Energy, Cell Theory, Germ Theory, Theory of Plate Tectonics, Theory of Evolution, Theory of Quantum Mechanics, Theory of Relativity, Theory of Light Energy, Theory of Electromagnetism, Theory of Radioactivity, Theory of Molecular Bonds, Theory of Homeostasis, Theory of Gravity, etc...

These are all theories also...but only evolution and the Big Bang are disputed. The reason is because they conflict with a 2,000 year old holy book.

  • @CynicalSkeptic1 All of your man made (THEORY'S) are sweet. I however do not believe in Mans Theory's. God has some very important FACTS he gave man. It's up to him to listen... One of these FACTS are Free Choice... You Choose Theory's I'll stick with God's Facts...

  • @2xtream You said "I however do not believe in Mans Theory's."

OUTSIDE OF SCIENCE, 'theory' means speculation or 'unproven conjecture'. The definition for 'theory' in a scientific context is "a well-substantiated explanation of some aspect of the natural world; an organized system of accepted knowledge that applies in a variety of circumstances to explain a specific set of phenomena; "theories can incorporate FACTS and LAWS and tested hypotheses"; 'true in fact and theory'."

  • @2xtream Here is another example: "a logical, systematic set of principles or explanation that has undergone testing or validation from careful observations and HAS STOOD UP AGAINST ATTEMPTS TO PROVE IT FALSE. A scientific theory can be used to make a variety of predictions of what will happen under different circumstances."

  • @2xtream You also said "God has some very important FACTS he gave man."

Apparently these would include murdering unruly children or anyone working on the sabbath, forcing a rape victim to marry her rapist, murdering innocent infants in the global flood and all the first-born children when he was angry at a pharoah....

As I said before, you should follow your ancient holy book and begin murdering people to make your god proud.

  • @CynicalSkeptic1 You know nothing and speak as a fool...

  • @CynicalSkeptic1 Doesn't America have laws against criminal activity? not only to protect but to also make an example for future criminals?

You lack understanding and don't seek it because u'd rather believe ur cynical belief

  • @2xtream Oh FUCK YOU AND YOUR STUPID HELL!!!! There IS NO HELL. It's not logical. Why would any all knowing God create a living being just to roast it in an oven because it followed it's PREDETERMINED (hence ALL KNOWING) programming. It's not logical. It's like having a baby just to burn it in an incinerator. NO loving being would do that so ENOUGH with hell. It is an illogical concept and is a man made lie designed to play on your fears. YOU retard.

  • @ponchred Your intelligence is your reward...

    Shalom

  • @2xtream Typical. No answer to logical dissection of your nonsensical belief.

  • @2xtream You said "I'll take God's word~"

In that case, we can't forget these:

Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him. But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves. Numbers 31:17-18

“Anyone who curses his father or mother must be put to death.” (Jesus speaking) (Matthew 15:4)

Whoever does any work on the Sabbath day must be put to death. (Exodus 31:15)

  • @CynicalSkeptic1 God also said, you have eyes but you do not see...

  • Kent Hovind - "We don't know what light is. Is it a wave, a particle, photon? What is it? Give me a jar of it and paint it red, nobody knows what it is. What is light?"

    "We know what it is."

Kent Hovind - "What is it?"

"Its a photon which has a wave property and particle property. Its a principle of Quantum mechanics."

Kent Hovind - "But your giving it a name, but thats not telling me what it is."

  • @Bigguy0Bigfun Kent Hovind taught physics for 17 years and I am quite sure he does not know what quantum mechanics is.

  • @snakeguy76 probably from the conversation these two had at 8:27 - 8:44

  • It is utterly amazing how foolish the followers of the religion of evolution are! It is very sad how they use repeated lies to support their foolish theory! Good thing I know what happens at the end! Jesus comes back. Non believers and followers of satan will be crushed. All evolutionists will be creationists one day. They too, like all humans, will have to meet the One True God on the day of judgment!

  • @RestoredHumanity Jesus never existed. He's not coming. You're headed down a road of dissapointment. There's most probably no God either, sorry to burst your little insular bubble.

  • @ponchred Yes, Jesus Christ did in fact exist. He was born of a virgin mother. He is the Son of the Living true God. You will meet him one day, when your life here on this earth ends. Sorry to bust your little evolutionary bubble. You can believe your religion of evolution all you want, but it is simply that: a religion. No human has ever observed life emerge from non life. Since that is true, where did this universe come from, logically?

  • @RestoredHumanity Ok. Fine. Let's say that evolution is completely false. Evolution cannot be true. The big bang has massive holes in it.

This still does not PROVE your point.

  • @3Sciencenut Agreed, the disproving of evolution and big bang do not prove creation by God. But the Bible and the evidence all around us in this earth does. The Bible is scientifically and historically accurate and has never been disproved nor is it able to be disproved. The missing equation is faith, but faith must be applied to ANY belief about existence and creation of the universe since none of us today were around to see the universe created. So the Bible is in fact my point.

  • @3Sciencenut there must be a distinction between proof and faith at some point since evidence can only point to a creation, or as some people would say point to evolution. Any theory of existence must be coupled with some degree of faith and belief in the events that you are theorizing, or in my case, the true historical account of the Bible that I have studied and applied to my life and discovered to be true in every respect every time I follow it!

  • it amazing how creationist can completely ignor all the data and evidence and cling to some irrational ideas

  • @rudyyy911 ok then how is that in genesis, god creates earth, then night and day, then later creates the sun. this makes absolutely no sense and has been disproven beyond all doubt. u believe in the god that wrote that?

  • think what you want to think all my job is to do is try, so bye good luck in science i hope you live without so much hate someday.

  • people will say anything staring death in the face because as smart as they think they are what if WHAT IF that 0.01% chance gods real then their in trouble, i know personally 100% from what gods done in my life and familys life. you can clain god all you want but if you dont do and live by the bible gods not there. you have to give 100% with NO and i mean NO DOUBT that he exsist and he will show you, god doesn want you to suffer because you been lied to by the devil.

  • @rudyyy911 There ya go with pascal's Wager again, Sorry i don't really buy into that crap. So where is hell anyway, everything in reality has a location doesn't it.

  • @rudyyy911 You're just as fucked as we are if you picked the wrong religion.

  • @ivanlagrossemoule i willing to take that chance

  • @rudyyy911 Let me get this straight, you believe hell real. And everything in our reality has a location, a star, a planet, the moon, Andromeda galaxy and my guitar. So then, my question is.... where is hell? Can you logically answer this question.

  • Poor kent doesn't have a leg to stand on. He always says he'll believe in God until it's disproven. And even though every single one of his crack pot theories are decimated, he continues to dwell in his own denial. It's actually quite sad watching him scrounge around for other ways to denounce everything but his almighty God.

  • If anyone wants a laugh, go look at Hovind's "PhD" thesis online. Just google it. First sentence it starts with is "Hello, my name is Kent Hovind"

  • Oh Oh Oh... Hovind is So stupid. If anyone doubts it just check out his self titled "Hovind Theory" regarding the supposed biblical flood. The experiment he claims to have carried out actually disproves his loopy hypothesis, but even that didn't stop Hovind claiming it to be a "theory". Stupid Stupid Hovind. He's a preacher in a lab coat not a science teacher.

  • This Christian is saying that Einstein was wrong? What kind of more bullshit can we expect from creationism?

  • @MultiManriquez What about what rudyyy911 is trying to tell me, kind of BS don't you think?

  • @1991stratplus He is another one, that confirms how much damage can religion make to intellectual integrity.

  • But the best news i can tell you and its a FACT is GOD understands why you question him, he will not hold it against you when you get saved but if you never get saved you are all alone no covering no blessing just you and the devil and all his demons trying to make you go where he is already destined to go, the lake of fire, understand the devil is much older and smarter than any human and knows exactly what to say and when to do it to make you question GOD and reject heaven. dont fall with him.

  • @rudyyy911 Ya that's just great, but do you have any proof that demons exist, verifiable evidence that demons in fact exist. If you can't prove what you are saying is true your beliefs mean nothing to me, no matter how many times you say it. Where is hell anyway? Everything in reality has a location don't you agree.

  • @rudyyy911 So can you tell me why god created Ebola virus, AIDS and smallpox. And Nothing like a good old Black death or plague to spice our existence. Or maybe god created Malaria just for shits & giggles.

  • @1991stratplus god didn create that, when adam sinned death came into the world and the devil was casted down to reigh over this earth, the devil is the biggest liar and deciever the fact that he makes you think god created it makes him already aheah. the bible says nothing bad is from god and we are in the last days, god is allowing the devil to make these things because thats part of the world. god says seek me first and everythin will fall in place. if we do gods will we dnt have to worry.

  • @rudyyy911 ...dude what religion are you? certainly not mainstream christian.

The God created all things, including evil, what right have you to pretend he did not or to lie about him? atributing his works to the devil is itself a sin READ your bible before commenting on the content.

  • @rudyyy911 Allrighty then!

  • @rudyyy911 When did i say that I think god created diseases like malaria? Now you are lying again, I never said that. First of all I don't believe in god, so why would i believe he created diseases like ebola virus?

  • @rudyyy911 So do you also believe the devil created mosquitoes to spread malaria? give me a break already.

  • @rudyyy911 Elijah: "Behold, the Lord will strike your people with a serious affliction -- your children, your wives, and all your possessions; and you will become very sick with a disease of your intestines, until your intestines come out by reason of the sickness, day by day.

  • "i hope you know that darwin got saved on his death bed and rejected all that he worked on."

O rly? What's your source on that, rudyyy911?

  • @rumsonale23 look it up on youtube or google it its no mystery

  • @rudyyy911 I also do not claim that god does not exist, i just don't see any credible scientific evidence that god does exist. That is a logical fallacy. What is logical and what is actually true can be two different things, do you agree? Check out the double slit experiment, this is truly freaky. Peace!

  • @rudyyy911 I did. Every site, including Christian ones, deny that he recanted his theory on evolution. His daughter was at his side when he died and she refutes that he recanted it. Even answersingenesis(.)com says: "Sadly, when evidence is sought, there is little to support this story." creation(.)com and christiananswers(.)net pretty much the same thing. All the other sites I found also said there's no proof that that happened.

    So, what's your source?

  • Creationist.... When will you start to accept credible facts

  • first he believes in the bible which means hes right we already won no matter what yeall say,

second evolution is a theory its a educated GUESS, to believe we all came from molten rock billions of years ago is stupid, to believe that their had to be a creator to make each animal an human makes sense we are so complex. and if we evolved from anythin why dont we see half people half ape walking around we dont we see full human and full ape no sign of evolution no proof stupid idea.

  • @rudyyy911 You are either so profoundly stupid or so profoundly brilliant at trolling.

  • @auroraman56 is that your comeback?? where is your argument where are your facts?? you resort to calling me a troll ?? good luck in life

  • @rudyyy911 Hey fagtastic fagtroll, before people discovered and confirmed the earth was round, it "made sense" to think it was flat. Before people discovered and confirmed the earth revolves around the sun, it "made sense" to think the earth is the center of the universe. And before Darwin and others discovered and confirmed evolution, it "made sense" to think some jealous, vengeful, merciful, imaginary god uttered a few words and POOF! Grow up, fruitcake.

  • @jokesonyouhaha1 your really mad over something, you must of been saved at one point and left, you must of blamed god at somepoint for something that couldn be changed .to have this much hate and anger towards someone who believes different than you is crazy.i never once said one insult to you or the other guy i was talking too here.i hope you know that darwin got saved on his death bed and rejected all that he worked on.i hope one day you find your self needing god because if not then im sorry.

  • @rudyyy911 What about the old earth creationists, they believe the evolutionary theory??

  • @1991stratplus old earth and new earth creationists believe the same thing but say they happen different ways im argueing with like 3 other people on here this could go on forever, fine dont take my word for it but when your on your death bed or get cancer or worst die instantly your going to be begging there is a heaven.i hold no grudge to anyone even if you hate me an my beliefs because i know deep inside your scared to die and when that moment comes whenever it comes you will ask GOD for help.

  • @rudyyy911 just like darwin

  • @rudyyy911 The Bible says the waters covered the entire face of the earth (Gen. 7:19). So where did all the water go then??

  • @rudyyy911 What you believe is true, does not mean it is actually true. I don't hate you also. And if i ask for gods help when i die, does not mean god actually exists. You have to demonstrate that god exists. And i also think Pascals wager is total BS. Just because I beg for heaven does not mean there is a heaven.

  • @rudyyy911 Believing in god to me is like believing in Thor, Allah or Zeus, it's absurd to me. I only believe in things that can be proven to be in fact true.

  • @rudyyy911 NO!! Old earth creationist do not believe in the same thing, that is a lie, and I will prove it! go to "h t t p:/ /w w w.answersincreation.o r g/" You will see that you are wrong.

  • @rudyyy911 I had to put spaces in to post. No I do not hate creationists, my sister is a christian and I lover very much, we just have different beliefs. What I don't like though is when creationist tell me I am wrong without any evidence. I am sure you are a very nice person, and I am a nice person also, believe it or not

  • @rudyyy911 you havn't seen many popular atheists on their deathbeds have you? Why would they ask a god for anything if they don't believe in one?

  • @rudyyy911 You...really don't understand the theory of evolution. Hell you don't understand theories. I'll give you a chance to correct yourself. Are all theories just an educated guess?

  • Kent Hovind is a boss listen to this man

  • @rudyyy911 - He's a tard...He's massively wrong on every level....I don't get what I should be listening to.

  • the only problem with science is that it believes itself fact.

allegory and symbolism has no place in science as it must always finitely present itself as fact.

the beauty of parables and reading between the lines remains an intuitive privilege to anyone who ventures to question authority. At this point in time the bible is not at all an authority.

look up "seeds" on wikipedia and replenish your curiosity.

  • @belational

Wikipedia has 'seed', 'The Seeds', 'SEEDS' (Sustainable Environment and Ecological Development Society), 'Seeds' (cellular automaton), and more.

    To what are you referring?

  • Ha!! What a gutless little weasel Hovind is!! He is embarrassingly spanked by this guy, and he resorts to his old standard "We are ALL looking at the same facts, but with different opinions"

This idiot neither understands evidence NOR reason!!

  • @rogan71 What is so illogical about what I have said? It is perfectly logical. Labels don't prove anything when it comes to meeting definitional requirements. So where is my lack of logic?

"So if you're labelled as Cristian you unquestioningly believe EVERY aspect of Christian faith as a default?"

No, the basic tenets of Christianity are simple. It is not about unquestioningly believeing a huge amount of doctrine, it is about having a relationship.

  • @updr12 Relationship with who?

  • @updr12

Its about the opinion that blood can remove your culpability for your own actions.

    Its garbage.

  • @updr12 - Relationship with an imaginary friend....Or a cosmic Jewish Zombie you can communicate with telepathically ? Yes, I bow to your superior logic....

  • @rogan71 You can insult me all you want. What does that prove? I have been insulted by immature, bitter, God-haters for decades. I kind of think that every contemptuous insult from a person who claims that Christians are evil actually speaks against them, don't you think?

  • @updr14 - When did I insult you? I haven't referred to you at all...Stop being such a whiny victim....

  • @rogan71 The church is nothing more than a collection of weeds and wheat sharing the same label. At the end of time God will sort out who is and who isn't a Christian.

  • @rogan71 'An enemy did this,' he replied. "The servants asked him, 'Do you want us to go and pull them up?'" 'No,' he answered, 'because while you are pulling the weeds, you may root up the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest. At that time I will tell the harvesters: First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned; then gather the wheat and bring it into my barn.' "

  • @rogan71 What has happened to the church is exactly what Jesus said would happen. This is what he said: The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field. But while everyone was sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat, and went away. When the wheat sprouted and formed heads, then the weeds also appeared. "The owner's servants came to him and said, 'Sir, didn't you sow good seed in your field? Where then did the weeds come from?'"

  • @OccamsKatana @rogan71 How do you know that the people who commit these autrocities were Christian? What IS a Christian? Look up the greek definition of the word, that will give you a big clue! If I believe in God and call myself an "athiest". Does that make me an atheist? Think people!

  • @updr12 - Well, if you're going down that road, isn't all labeling of belief misleading? Most Christians probably don't believe in the Ark, and the many other fables - and many atheists may have beliefs similar to theism, like myself.....You cannot label what person believes in their heart...Thus making religion something of an obstacle to spirituality.

  • @rogan71 Labelling of belief is no more misleading than anything else. If you have a jar with a label on it you just have to lift the lid and see if the contents fits the label. The label on Christians is what is found in the words that Jesus spoke. And what did Jesus say? Love your enemies. Pray for those who persecute you. Bless and do not curse.

  • @updr12 - You're missing my point entirely...Your logic is so weak, I would call it complete gibberish.... So if you're labelled as Cristian you unquestioningly believe EVERY aspect of Christian faith as a default?

There's not even evidence that Jesus existed, yet masses to conclude he is part of an amalgamation of myths... Still, if you're going to take the Bible as a source then all bets are off.

  • out of no brains comes no sense - nonsense

  • @updr12 - "witches" are still being burned. Children are still being beaten; Because of the bible. Many more atrocities come forth out of christianity, but one of the biggest to me would be the anti-abortion lobby. Stemcells can do marvelous things. They could for example heal someone with spinal injuries(and many, many more). Anti-abortion lobbyists or defenders thereof should suffer the loss of the use of their legs.

  • Kent, you are a Class A moron!

  • @rogan71 The fact that evil people use the name of religion to bring about their own will has no impact on that religion. If I ordered you to love your neighbor as yourself and you went away and carved him up with a butchers knife, is that my fault? Think before opening your mouth!

  • @updr12 - Religion makes ordinary people do evil things....It's rotten to the core and based on pure fiction...If you need it to be good then you are unbalanced and uneducated.

  • @rogan71 "Religion makes ordinary people do evil things."

Some religions might do, if their religion incites them to do that. But where does Christianity incite anyone to do evil things?

  • @updr12 - The Vatican has a criminal list longer then anyone. And these are crimes against humanity. The Nazi's were predominately Christian and believed they were doing God's work... History is strewn with Christian atrocities...America is a country stultified by Christian bigotry and is educationally on a par with Turkey or Iran....The list of crimes is enormous....Anyone with an irrational belief that overrides their common sense and the known facts, is dangerously deluded.

  • @ultim4t32 3. You just want to sin. This too is evident because of the hateful nature you display. Hate is the root of sin. If you DIDN'T want to sin then you WOULDN'T hate. It's as simple as that. You yourlself prove all 3 statements to be true.

  • @ultim4t32 2. You are most certainly angry at God. No one spews out the amount of contempt that you do without housing a great deal of pent-up anger. You try to blame God and Christianity because of your own failures. God cannot be mocked, a man reaps what he sows. You sow hate and contempt, and that is what you will reap.

  • @updr12 - Grow up! Christians are the most hateful people on the planet...The Catholic Church makes the Nazi's look like hippies....You are clearly too stupid to admit your own hate and judgement of others...You are the embarrassment of humanity.

  • @rogan71 "Christians are the most hateful people on the planet"

Actually, I think you are doing a much better job of being hateful than I am. I'm not a catholic and I am as responsible for what other "Christians" have done as you are that other athiests have done. Don't you think? Jesus predicted the deterioration of the "church", but there is always a remnant that truly serve him.

  • @updr12 - You're obviously too daft too realize the hate and veiled threat in your words... I do hate religion, I'll admit it...But I don't cast judgement on people.... The least spiritual, least Godly people on the planet are the religious....

  • @rogan71 There's no "veiled" threat. I said you will eventually stand before God and give an account. Is that a vieled threat? Where's the veil? I certainly don't see one. And where did I cast judgement on you? I'm not the judge of anyone's soul, but I CAN make judgements and tell you what the Bible says. There is a difference.

  • @updr12 - Yes it is...It's an irrational fear to believe it in the first place, and a veiled threat to pass it off to others - especially as you could not possibly know if this is true or not....The religious generally finish their statements with "you'll find out" Which is a threat...You've giving your beliefs as a warning, which is a veiled threat....Whether the punishment comes from you or not, you are using your belief of divine punishment to intimidate through fear = threat!

  • @updr12 You can't be angry at something you dont believe in... Are you retrospectively angry at Santa for not bringing you the right toy 10-15-20 years ago? Who says he has any failures? We don't need God, plus, who the fuck are you, if you do believe in god, to question why he made us (me/ultim4t32... other atheists) the way he did? But that aside, he doesn't exist mate, he really doesn't... For the good of mankind, realise this now...

  • @darkdexou "You can't be angry at something you dont believe in"

And how do you think you are going to prove that you don't believe in something? Seriously? You say that you don't believe in God. Well guess what? I don't believe in athiests. My conviction is that there aren't any. God doesn't create athiests. Everyone knows in their hearts that God exists and that one day he will call us all to account. He DOES exist, mate.

  • @ultim4t32 Also, your knowledge of scripture is incredibly poor for someone who has been seriously involved in Christianity. You simply cherry-pick certain verses that on first glance cause shallow people to scoff, you totally ignore the context, and you make claims that are simply not true.

  • Yeah, Hovind was destroyed on the speed of light issue (0:40) so he tried to trash the evidence and distract the audience by changing the subject. The fact that creationist want to get into our schools and indoctrinate our kids with their nonsense is frightening!

  • I like this scientist. His composure in the face of the most shame-faced ignorance is truly commendable. Kent Hovind tries to cover up the fact his silly ideas are completely exposed by mocking the scientists explanation. What a fucking melt.

  • @ultim4t32 "..they are basically flat earthers at this point."

Oh, time to pollish off with the old prejudiced remark is it? Ironically, Flat Earth Society's president Daniel Shenton not only believes that the earth is flat, but he also believes in Darwinian evolution. That Christians ever believed in a flat earth is a hoax.

  • @updr12 It is a pretty good comparison in reality. There is as much evidence for creationism as there is for a flat earth. There also is as much evidence AGAINST creationism as there is against a flat earth. The bible calls the earth a CIRCLE. Says it sits on PILLARS, didn't realize that the SUN was just another star among trillions.

  • @ultim4t32 "Religious belief requires unbending belief in the face of no evidence and utter absurdity."

And how exactly do you intend on proving that? Lets say for a moment that God spoke directly into your heart and verified what he said to you by providing undeniable evidences that only you could possibly understand. You cannot share this evidence with anyone else. So is that evidence? Why, why not.
