Building Our New Blue Edge: Central Waterfront

How can Queen's Quay be one of the great streets of the world when it doesn't have one iconic building or even a beautiful one? It in fact has a number of really terrible buildings that are ugly and block out the waterfront. The waterfront has no major museums or art galleries. In fact there is no major tourist attraction on the waterfront, (Bathurst to Parliament) and sadly, no plans to change that. The on-street retail is third rate and Corus is one depressing grey, glass box. DO SOMETHING!

@Torontopia Queens Quay will be transformed both where the area around the street is already developed and in the new waterfront community of East Bayfront currently being developed. The vision for Queens Quay includes providing access to the waterfront and building sustainable, mixed-use communities. The aim is to create a great waterfront boulevard that adds to the character of the waterfront, increasing its value to both locals and tourists.

Excellent! Watching the wave decks pop up at Spadina and now Simcoe and Rees, I'm excited to see the beginning of the transformation of the south lane of Queens Quay.
