@davepaula123 Really? You can't get parts for these? Try looking at the website before you make comments like this that show you only here to spam. Every single part is available online and has been for last 6 years on Aurora Generators. You must be one of those guys who purchased some clone and got what you paid for. Only Aurora Generator have electrical approval in North America. You get what you pay for.
That's a really nice generator, I'm assuming in America the engines are set to run at 3600 rpms to give 60 Hz and here in England they are set to 3000 rpms to give 50 Hz right?? I have to say I'm one of these people who don't mind buying "made in China" stuff, yeah some stuff isn't fantastic but some of the more expensive engines and generators are very good. I know this is an Aurora generator, but what brand of engine is used on them?? I'm just curious.....Nice genny though :]
Hi, I plan to purchase one of these next month. My only issue I have is EVERY time someone post a video of this unit they NEVER have it running under load OR they plug up a single lamp or small air conditioner.
Show what this unit can do! Put 2 or 3 big items on it at the same time. You will show the power and how loud it is under stress.
Please post a video like that and then you will have a real eye catching commercial.
i need one that actually is silent so when the solar flare and emp comes ill be ready so no one tries to take it or know its there i have a ditch dug in my backyard with underground wires and a electromagnetic shield
This is a win/win - the efficiency of running a Diesel engine (uses significantly less fuel vs Gasonline engines) and the fact its made in China - therefore less than 1/2 the price of American made products.
@DontTread0nMe1776 There is not one portable made in the USA by anyone. Diesel that is. Why is Made in China a bummer? Did you look and see where Honda and Yamaha are made?
@punkngoth Not true. Go see Aurora Generators site. They are all approved to CSA standard 22.2 No 100. It beats UL Standards. No other company has one that is electrically approved or is legal now.
@younitehumanity Hard to answer that one. Too much difference between normal automotive diesel and bio diesels. Lube properties and flash points are very important.
@qwertzu3 Portable Diesel Generators ar often 76 db in noise. The enclosed ones like this are under 69 db. The term "Silent" has been used in the industry for many years. If you compare 76 db to 69 db then you too would call it "Silent" It would be better to call them Silenced rather then Silent but we can't change the world and how people refer to them.
@auroraron These aren't even close to "not very loud", let alone "silent". Once you get these down in the 58-59db range of the honda inverter generators, I think you would be safe using the term "silent".
@qwertzu3 to be fair (I'm an ex radio tech), home cameras have an AGC (automatic gain control) in them. if something is not that loud, the agc in the camera will deliberately amplify the volume quite a lot. this is so quiet spoken people still sound ok watching home movies. only on a more professional camera and setup can you record at fixed level. you'd also have to record a noisy generator as a reference using the same gear/setup from the same distance to give you an idea of the difference.
@InsaneVender LOL YUP. There is not one single company making portable diesel generators in north america. Too many cheap rednecks bitch about made in china but are not willing to pay double for made in the USA. Only gas is made in the USA by Generac but their shares just dropped this last 1/4 and sales are down. Too bad they don't have diesel either.
@MastaF0035 All portable diesels you will find are 3600 RPM. Life is on average 1500 - 2000 hours on this brand, 500 hours less on others. Using synthetic oil makes a difference.
@auroraron The life of the engine could be vastly extended by not starting from cold & going straight up to full power revs. Although I understand that is the tough life of a generator engine. They reckon 90% of the wear in any engine occurs in the first 5 minutes after a cold start, as the components work their way up to working temperature tolerances. Is this a Hyundai 10 hp diesel?
you are correct, the modern diesel engines are very clean burning. But, i hav seen a few of them at the campgrounds, and the owners do complain about the smell of the exaust. in a house it wouldnt be a problem but it is somthing to think about.
Lots of cheap clones on the market. Unless it says Aurora on it.... You can see the exhaust is clear here. Others build cheap and the end result is a engine that smokes and exhaust that does not do what it should.
Black smoke is from unburned fuel. The engine under full load does not bog down and runs normally never leaving any unburned fuel. There is also a catalytic converter that helps reduce emission. I think your experiences are with other brands. We have the coolest running and the highest quality we can manufacture. We now have CSA approval also and that is something no other manufacture has been able to do.

The real question is can it be run on Bio-diesel or UVO? That would make is a useful tool in getting off the grid!

So....what is the difference in performance of a deisel vs. unleaded gas generator? Longevity, noise difference, ....anything else?
UpcomingJedi 1 year ago
@UpcomingJedi Diesel is more efficient so if you have the same amount of gas and diesel the diesel will last longer.
