  • Nice song realy NICE and all the girls to :)

  • this is really beautiful

  • beautiful art

    love and blessings..........Gerry...........Canada

  • i <3 u chloe! ur the best singer ever!

  • i think shes lip sinking. cuz she sounds just the same live

  • @cutiepie101779

It's because she and the the other are, you know, GOOD. If you're actually worth your salt as a performer and put in the hours of practice and rehearsal required, your performance will sound the same every time. Some people are in fact talented and don't need to computerize the crap out of their voices for recordings.

  • @butterflytigress1985 oh. well then shes amazing, because every note, and pitch is perfecto lol

  • I fucking love the Snowman! Had such an epic soundtrack!

  • @Rudo122 completely agree with you i always remember this song from the movie and i loved hearing this song and i still do

  • I hear an Angel.....

  • @MrKokspang Well said sir. No more said.

  • Why so many talking bout tarja's version? This must b bout the most beautyful ive ever heard!

  • I'm to moved for words WOW!!

  • amazing version, I prefer tarja's though!!

  • When I met David Downes after a CW concert in December, he gave me an autograph... and A HUG!!!

    :D It was like this:

    Me: Can I hug you?

    David: (laughing) sure.

    I am very random.

    :D

  • I love this song more when Chloe sings ! I actually don't like to hear anyone else singing this song. She is lovely and this song is just right for her voice. I feel like I'm dreaming every time I hear Chloe singing this song.

  • She got such a sweet voice.

  • I just scrached my pubes

  • what is dislike button?

  • @kakna1974 thanks for the support. I will say it again for you. Chloe in this video is an angel from heaven. Not only is her voice the most beautiful thing I have ever heard in my life, but she is the the sweetest girl I have ever seen. The way she smiles, the way she rolls her eyes, the way she tilts her head...I am simply in love with her! I cannot take my eyes off her. She has an innocence about her that is spellbinding. So different than the slutty singers you see today everywhere. A goddess

  • her voice is so beautiful. <3

  • This SONG IS SERIOUSLY THE FREAKIN' BOMB!!!!!!! I LOVE IT

  • The music is surreal! 3

  • Piekna piosenka!!!

  • this sounds great wearing a turtle beach PX21 headset

  • This was absolutely lovely! ...my favorite vocal version of this song. FYI - George Winston does a nice piano version on his album "Forest".

  • I think anything is comparable and of course there is a degree to which you can compare things but really? It's christmas and the only thing that makes it special is whether you chose to appreciate it.

  • silky unique texture

  • mmmmmmm not sure, maybe i need to listen to this a few more times

  • weak voice.

  • @Holvem Give her a break. She was 16 when this was made. She's only gotten better over the last 6 years.

  • @kanjimasteryugi She has 16? well girls these days are very developed... while i have 16 and people think that i have 13 =/

  • @Holvem Weak?! Try hauntingly beautiful...

  • @UndercoverCracker or turn up your speakers

  • @Holvem the word you were looking for was soft not weak. She can sing with an orchestra and if you can do that you have a powerful voice.

  • @Holvem turn up you speakers

  • @dotinthedirt1 Come on people she have a kid voice.

  • @Holvem It's no problem. Weak but angelic that gives us many many pleasure. That's good! And that's a billion billion times more important than the height and strenght of somebody's voice.

  • @kakha1974 Well that's your opinion gentleman.

  • i love this,makes me wanna cry.

  • Comment removed

  • @kakna1974 Thanks for responding to my comment. I posted it last night. For some reason it was removed. I will repeat that Chloe Agnew is mesmerizing. I could not stop listening to this video last night.Celtic Woman is a wonderful group. I love to hear white women sing in the celtic style

  • @panos2160 Why they did that?? Your comment was good, lovely and there was nothing wrong in it! I've visited here again in order to once again hear this angelic voice and once again re-read your nicely comment

Yes, repeat it please. Your comment must be exactly here.

  • @panos2160 same feelings here ;-))

  • Comment removed

  • This is by far the best version of this song I've heard anywhere. Stunning.

  • I like this to a point could have backed off on the bombastic trumpets and a little less violin "whirling' imo it kind of takes away from the magic and simple beauty.

  • What black magic was used here? THis sounds too perfect.

O.o Chloe is so friking beautifull.

  • the original will always be the best

    but man this comes close

and i dont say that to much

  • Celtic Woman are some of most beautiful singers I have ever heard. I discovered them while I was channel surfing one night on PBS. I have loved their music ever sense that nite. Can you beleive that Chloe was only 15 yrs old in this video? I have watched every PBS special ever sense.Wish that I could tickets because they will be in D.C. in March 2012. If angels sing they must sound like these young ladies. Whom ever doesn't like their voices must be tone deaf.

  • @DUCK17267 15!!! that means that there is still hope for me!!!! You just made my Holiday!! THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH!!

  • This was my solo on flute for band this year! :)

  • Love it

  • OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OOMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMGOMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMGOMG OMG OMG OMG

  • @tracytaulier I KNOW RIGHT?!

  • ♥♥ Freedom IS Walking In The Air ♥♥ “What’s in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name, would smell as sweet.” William Shakespeare (1564-1616)

  • i love this song and cant hear enough of the celtic woman. i sang this song in my high school choir class for our winter concert and it still will get stuck in my head whenever i hear it

  • tarja turunens version is better in my opinion ps. im not a hater i love celtic woman this version just sounds lip synced

  • Go find Jackie Evancho's rendition of this. You'll love it.

  • @DukeLaCrosse20 Jackie's version sounds more mature, but that is just the nature of her voice. Doesn't take anything away from Chloe (she keeps the childlike spirit of the song)...Just depends on your personal preference. I am a huge Jackie fan...so I may be a little biased! I do agree that fans of Celtic Woman will also like Jackie Evancho...those who appreciate the talent and beauty of one also will of the other

  • @DukeLaCrosse20 I personally don't like jackie's voice

  • calms my friend tummy from hurting :)

  • nice version, but I like the tarka version better.

  • Taja are better.

  • I like Chloes version better...it sounds softer....although Tarja did do good...I just think Chloes is softer

  • I like Chloes version better...it sounds softer

  • Good but you just can't beat the original!

  • this is a very good version, and im glad they tried to stick to the original as much as possible..wonderfull voices also..thanks for posting..my second favourite version of this song..well posted

    Merry christmas all

  • You can heare that its diffrent from the recorded version, but haters gonna hate :)

besides: you cant really compare chloe and Tarja, they have completly diffrent styles an so is their interpretation of that song. Both are very great.

  • No technicalities besides the microphone itself were used while she was singing. That's what her voice really sounds like.

  • @razorclaw008 how do you know that?

  • @razorclaw008 obviously an EQ was used ;-P

  • @razorclaw008

Yes I have seen them in Person. Peace is a very fleeting thing but for 90 minutes I was at peace with myself and the world and had many tears

  • Thats awesome

  • Nightwish version with Tarja are much much better and LIVE. Sorry

  • @gaeilge1O1

An example is when saying "sky". At the first audition seemed ok and childish-like as I said, but hear it again. It's out of tune and staggering.

Another mention: both in the movie and here, the voice is processed. I can't say if here is playback or the voice is just post-processed, but it is not what people in that hall heard.

Anyaway - watch any of Tarja's solointerpretations. Live, she's better than all mention here combined.

  • Merry Christmas all over the world!!

    Dave

  • This is so beautiful!!! :')

  • i think of the daughter i lost when i hear this song...daddy really misses you i will never forget you

  • anyone think of Peter Pan when they hear this?

  • I dream lord of the rings to this song.

  • Wow! I wish i could sing like that! Its beautiful

  • her voice is pure magic <333 *--*

  • She's as beautiful as her voice!

  • I found this song first with the snowman cartoon flying around with a little boy. This song is beautiful. and thats not a word i would normaly use but it is.

  • fantastic voice

  • what does the this song mean?

  • @bella6497 it's a soundtrack from a short film where a boy flies over the world with a snowman

  • A very young Chloe. :-D

But still with a amazing voice.

  • I love this song. It's from The Snowman by Raymond Briggs <3

  • I love the accompaniment <3

  • To lovely! Pure beauty!!!

  • simply angelical

  • Oh nostalgia.

  • Wunderschön gemacht mit Orchester. Tolle Stimme von Chloe.

    Einer meiner Liebliengslieder.

  • @ lovelydespair1 i agree

  • This is amazing for numerous reasons... I love the haunting melody. It almost hypnotizes you......

  • Oh Chloe..... *sigh*

    love love love love

  • i sang this as a solo but i loved it so much that i forgot the words but then when i heard the music it just came and the conductor was blown away! but she is no comparison to me... she is the best!!!

  • She looks like an angel, she sings like an angel .... and she can walk in the air .... i wonder how ♥

  • this is one of the song of declan galbraith isn't ryt??

  • @RomueL008..." Walking in the Air" is a song written by Howard Blake for the 1982 animated film of Raymond Briggs' 1978 children's book The Snowman

  • Absolutely beautiful!

Her outfit needs something... Either a belt of some kind to give the top some shape and/or pants that are more close fitting. She just disappears in all the hanging cloth.

  • I watched this movie in chorus class today, and i was just amazed at how beautiful all their voices are.

  • I don't know about ya'll, but this had me daydreaming of flying with fairy wings and flying over rivers and my Ancestors land in Ireland and Scotland. This sends chills down my spine, it is just that beautiful. <3

  • I sang this is state choir when I was in 5th grade! :) It was amazing!

  • I prefer Nightwish. but this one is nice too!

  • @Luxorion1...This song was never intended to be sung the way Tarja sings it....The original was sung by a young boy in the animated movie The Snowman....it's meant to be light and airy...

  • @gaeilge1O1

Tarja sings it many times better and ACTUALLY much closer to the original version sang by Peter Auty or Aled Jones.

In the case you dont digest well Nightwish heavier interpretation, Tarja has an acoustical version of her own.

    /watch?v=VOQNgUtJkKs

In my oppinion Tarja + Nightwish interpretation is superior, but the above example with Tarja solo is the closest to the compositor's intent.

  • @MrNakhrul...If that's what you think then you have obviously not heard the original version sung in the animated movie the "Snowman"...Nothing like what Tarja does to this song..

  • @gaeilge1O1

If you would have a trace of musicality, my comment would have shown than I did hear the original version. I've heard it processed in the movie and I heard it unprocessed, live, back in the 80's.

The original boy soprano interpretation as well as this one here have many flaws. The greatest one being, many moments where the voice cannot properly hit several consecutive notes and is out of tune.

In the original it was ok and sounded "innocent-childish", but here.. it just sounds bad.

  • @MrNakhrul..I've only been in the business for 20 years..So i guess you know more about it than I do....get over yourself...oh and keep digging that hole....

  • Comment removed

  • @gaeilge1O1

I disagree. Tarja sings it much better and she always sings it live flawlessly, here it's not live.

Chloe does a very good interpretation of course but it's weaker technically and emotionally.

  • @12321marianne...This performance was very live....I was there..

  • @gaeilge1O1

The presence of course... it's not like they were holograms.

I mean that the focus of the discussion - what we hear in this video - is not live and it's obvious from a mile away.

  • @12321marianne thats right!

  • I feel like i'm in some dream......letting go of every feeling i have except for ecstasy.... :)

  • I first heard this from The Snowman, which was one of my favorite movies ever as a kid :D

  • @HaldoChan it's Declan Galbraith ryt??;))

  • It's amusing to consider the disaster that would happen if Lady Gaga or any of the Britney Spears clones attempted to sing a song like this. Can you imagine watching one of them struggling with this?

  • @Wyrmwould The biggest problem would be that Chloe actually can sing beautifully without an audio engineer, autotune, a lipsync track and multiple retakes, etc. that the other two individuals mentioned always need.

  • @Wyrmwould

Gah! Just the thought of it... the horror!!! THE HORROR!!!

  • @Wyrmwould It would be a huge case of :L

  • nightwish is the best...Thumbs up for tarja guys!

  • Chloe's voice is so young and innocent. Her voice makes her seem like she is only 6 years old.

  • Comment removed

  • well it is a personal opinion so frankly i dnt care cuz im intitled to my own opinion thats what makes it mine:)

  • chloe sings it so mush better than NIGHTWISH no one has chloe's angelic voice.....

  • @bbprincess79 I don't think you can compare Chloe's and Tarja's voices. They are very different singers. Besides I think you offended Nightwish fans.

  • @MindlessCrys You can compare them because they both covered one song which gives them each something to relate to the other.

  • A Madonna like articulation in the love of some Celtic essence is extremely enthuasiastic and a kind of overwhelming to me. When will the lovers of Jesus learn speak non colloquial and non locational in English? When will they have explicit English articulations meaning into all language intensions? When will they use a perfect tense articulation ability? Thank youn Madonna for the joy you gave anyway and we Love Jesus, our enemies but not Jesus's enemies.. kindly..

  • simon says, UK dog:god?

  • why doesn't anyone ev er pay attention to simon when he talks about GOOD music. let paula follow him wherever he goes. SHE it.

  • I hate it when women who don't have the right voice try singin this and think they are good. But this... this is actually really beautifull version.

  • @Onnenkissa Yeah. It was originally by a little boy, so sometimes the sweetness of someone's voice sounds so much nicer.

  • feels like im flying

  • Rumour is that Jackie Evancho has recorded this song for her upcoming Christmas album.

  • Молодцы девчёнки,чудесно поют.Я в восторге.ideally

  • She looks like a >>>very naughty girl<<< in this video ;)

  • I love the eyes on this woman as well as her voice.

  • I wish she wasn't wearing this bag.

  • I'm so in love with her voice!!

  • Is she Irish? Her accent goes perfect with this.

Personally I like Nightwish better though. Don't try jumping down my throat about it either. I think they both have their own beautiful, unique take on it, both styles work but I just happen to like Nightwish's better.

  • it's just so pretty and wintery. i could listen all day

  • Love this song!! :)

  • she sounds so pritty!! ^-^

  • Epic

  • i like this one , but i like the version from nightwish a little bit better..:o)

  • @MsSnowcake...Nightwith ruins this song....it is meant to be light and airy...It was originally sung by a young boy for the animated movie "The Snowman"...

  • @gaeilge1O1 You can't compare Celtic Woman to Nightwish anyway...they have their own unique style and each person has their own personal opinion upon which version is better. I LOVE both and only reason why i like this one abit more is because u can't rlly understand Tarja, but she's more an opera-ish singer whereas Celtic Woman...is...well...not....so...to each their own

  • @Fooountain The stars of CW are what is know as lyric singers. They de-emphasize the coloration that opera singers deliberately use to dramatize the words. That is why it is so hard to understand them.

These incredibly gifted ladies enunciate clearly and with precise and well practiced breath control. All while allowing their natural beauty and personalities to shine through.

And we are SOOOOOOOOO glad they do!

  • @gaeilge1O1 1) There's no band called "Nightwith" and 2) no piece of art is "meant" to be like anything - that's the beauty of art, it's a "to each his own" thing that is free of constraints.

  • @YTisSRSbznz Actually, it's "Nightwish." They do exist. Don't pick on someone for making typos. And what you describe is not the beauty of art, it's the beauty of the human mind, and the right to free speech. I can write a poem about a snowman and someone might think I'm writing about a rubber ball (true story). They'd be wrong, but still.

  • @parisanba I know very well the band "Nightwish." As such, my point stands: there is no band called "Nightwith." And no, what I described was the beauty of art, not the mind.

  • @YTisSRSbznz...Ok so I misspelled Nightwish...big deal...and you are dead wrong about the "meant"...when a person composes a song in this instance he/she invisions it a certain way...Same with poetry, painting, and any other art form...What a different "artist" does after that doesn't change the way the original "artist" meant the piece of "art" to be...The original intent of this song was for it to be light ard airy, as it was first sung by a young boy for the animated movie "The Snowman"..

  • Hey guys...let guppypal alone. They said something awful, but don't jump down their throat. I so don't agree with them, I think it's an awful thing to say. But just enjoy the beautiful music!!!

  • I don't even see how people can dislike this.. it's beautiful in every way!

  • @GuppyPal Rather ignorant of you to be sure.

  • @GuppyPal You are an asshole.

  • @GuppyPal - Those were words of pure jealousy

  • @GuppyPal Your a BIG jerk for saying that she is beutiful the way she is

JEALOUSY ALERT JEALOUSY ALERT JEALOUSY ALERT JEALOUSY ALERT JEALOUSY ALERT

  • the best thing i ever see...

  • @LovelyDespair1 that's a beautiful way to put it.

  • Sensationelle Musik!!!

  • she is the cutest angel i've ever seen <3

  • heavenly..

  • Lovely!
