It is hilarious to go onto some Ford truck forums and see people talking about how the C frame on their Super Duty is great, but then come on here and see Ford people talking about a C frame being a pos on a Tundra.
@MrOhyeah66,Big rigs use C frames but they use thick steel to make them, toyota uses stamped sheet metal(so thin it had to be riveted instead of welded)the C frame on the superduty is much thicker then the sheet metal toyota decided to use. the C frame allows for some flex to comply with heaver loads but the F150 is a 1/2 ton so it will not see loads that will cause problems with a boxed frame, for drivability and handeling. the F150 will take more weaght then a tundra due to toyotas thin steel.

f250's and I will only own ford trucks. My daily driver is a 78 F150 with a 400m. It has 328,000 miles and runs like new. Ive put that ranger through anything you can imagine and it wont die. The only thing dodge has is the cummins and that truly is a great motor but DODGE DOESN'T MAKE IT! Chevys are another story all together. I have to work on my buddies 09 silverado with 30,000 miles more than my 78 F150 with over 300,000 miles. Chevys are JUNK!!!
Why would you be working on his truck if it only has 30,000 miles on it? Wouldn't he just take it to the dealership under warranty? Not trying to be an ass, but I don't believe that. I am a Ford guy through and through, but the '96 Chevy I have has outlasted any other vehicle I have ever had foreign or domestic.
The dealership doesnt know what they are doing. He had the brakes go bad at about 15,000 miles and he took it into the dealership and the put on new pads and rotors. Two weeks later it did the same thim all over. Keep in mind this isnt doing and hauling or towing but it shows the quality of parts you can exspect from GM. We had to replace the brakes with an aftermarket brand ourselves to keep it from doing it again. Ive worked on any vehicle you can imagine and chevys are the biggest POS ever.
I don't know. I have only owned 1 Chevy and it hit 381k without any major repairs, and it had a hard life as a farm truck. I have only owned 1 Ford and it has been perfect, but it only has 28k on it. My last truck a Dodge Ram 2500 Hemi was the biggest piece of shit I have ever encountered.
I know Many people who have had both and 90% of the people would go with ford over chevy. My uncle has an expidition and a silverado 2500 duramax and the both have around 230,000 miles that he has put on them. He runs both of them really hard but the ford has held up to the abuse way better. He had to replace the alternator on the expidition but that was it. The silverado has had problems from overheating to fuel dilivery problems transmision problems to the belt tensioner breaking.
I had an expedition before my Tundra. I will never buy a ford with the current 5.4L in it. I replaced that engine twice in less than 150,000 miles. My grandma, who retired from GM, bought a Tundra and her statement was, "this is the best truck I have ever owned". She has driven trucks all her life, from all big three manufacturers. I was hesitant when I bought my Tundra, but have had no regrets. The new RAM is nice though, and the new ford is hideous in my opinion.
I like Ford and Chevy, but whether you prefer Ford, Chevy, Dodge, or Nissan, I think that it is pretty clear that the Toyota Tundra is a feeble, pathetic piece of shit!
I wouldn't own a ford if they gave it to me, the new body style F-150 is completely ugly. The old body style was attractive in ways but the head lights and body lines of the new one are horrid. The dodge looks better but looks aren't everything. The toyota is uglier than the Ford (by a little). The Chevy is the best looking truck out and i am a chevy fan but I like other things as well. My mom had a Ford Tarsus and it blew up, literally, about killed my dad. I will always own, and drive a chevy
The Current Silverado is hideous! The GMC isn't bad looking but, the F-150 is still better looking. The Dodge is pretty good looking and it has the most comfortable interior that I have sat in, but I had a '05 2500 Hemi and it was constant problems. The Mexican built Hemi engine is a little scary to me also.
NOr would I touch a Ford either.. they break down too easily -- just look at the dash and the workmanship under the truck too :( Had a friend who is selling his F-150 after too many problems in one month!

The F-150 and Silverado also have a fully boxed frame. My guess as to why they didn't bother with the Titan is because it hasn't undergone any major changes since '04.
Ford is the only truck company I trust. I have a ranger with 210,000 miles a F150 with 327,000 miles and two F250s that you cant kill. Ive tried. My buddie bought a brand new silverado last year and has had nothing but problems. Anything from brake rotors keep warping to door lock actuators to electronic problems. The only thing I like about the dodges is the cummins and the toyota speakes for itself. Ford all the way!!!

I also have a '96 Chev 1500 Z-71 with almost 400,000 miles, it has been a great truck but it has had its fair share of problems(none that have left me stranded on the roadside like my NEW '05 Dodge did). I would love to have another Dodge i think they are the best looking trucks on the road(especially the '10 Ram 3500 Dually's) but after the problems with my '05 it will take them a while to earn my buisness back(and the fact they are owned by Fiat ain't helping them).
The Dodge has a max towing capacity of 9,100lbs with the 5.7L Hemi. Google is you're friend. I had a Ram 2500 w the 5.7L Hemi, it was complete garbage, poor fit and finish, poor fuel economy (and yes i am aware it is a 3/4ton truck), and poor road manners(again im aware it is a 3/4ton). I purchased a '08 F-150 FX4 and haven't looked back.
The Fiat Ram needs that lifetime warranty because it is the only way people will buy their crappily made truck. The Dodge can only tow 9,100lbs MAX, the Ford tows over 11,000 and the GM and even Toyota can tow more than 10,500lbs. I love my new Dodge Ram with a heated steering wheel and navigation, it's great when i take it to buy grocerys.

You cant go by the videos. They are tailored to the Truck making the video. Chevy has the same video performing the same test. Chevy made their car move smooth and the ford perform sloppy. Doge has a camera on their truck showing how smooth the RAM is on highway with the new suspension. I vote the Toyota the best. It reminds me of a girl doing the rump shake on a rap video. It's not about who has the most power anymore, it's about towing, smooth ride, luxury, feul mileage, durabilaty and safety. Ford is the best, chevy/gmc are next, dodge is way behind all they have is good power and that's it and don't get me started on the toyota.
We just got a new F-150 and everybody in our family loves it, even me. The ride is smooth, it doesn't seem so slow, and is very spacious, even for a regular cab.

There are no Ford trucks built in Mexico. I build them for the living and I work in Kentucky. The Super Duty's are ALL built in KY and the F-150's are built in Michigan. You fail...
The Kentucky Truck Plant and Louisville Assembly Plant are both located in Louisville. Shelbyville isn't too far of a drive to either plant, but I believe its closer to the Truck Plant.
The Explorer plant should be hiring once they are done retooling it for the Kuga/Escape they are suppose to be building for 2011. I believe they are looking to run 3 shifts. If so, they will probably hire 1500 people or more cause they are only running one shift with about 1000 employees. Good Luck!

I have had 4 ford trucks from rangers to
f250's and I will only own ford trucks. My daily driver is a 78 F150 with a 400m. It has 328,000 miles and runs like new. Ive put that ranger through anything you can imagine and it wont die. The only thing dodge has is the cummins and that truly is a great motor but DODGE DOESN'T MAKE IT! Chevys are another story all together. I have to work on my buddies 09 silverado with 30,000 miles more than my 78 F150 with over 300,000 miles. Chevys are JUNK!!!

Why would you be working on his truck if it only has 30,000 miles on it? Wouldn't he just take it to the dealership under warranty? Not trying to be an ass, but I don't believe that. I am a Ford guy through and through, but the '96 Chevy I have has outlasted any other vehicle I have ever had foreign or domestic.

The dealership doesnt know what they are doing. He had the brakes go bad at about 15,000 miles and he took it into the dealership and the put on new pads and rotors. Two weeks later it did the same thim all over. Keep in mind this isnt doing and hauling or towing but it shows the quality of parts you can exspect from GM. We had to replace the brakes with an aftermarket brand ourselves to keep it from doing it again. Ive worked on any vehicle you can imagine and chevys are the biggest POS ever.

I don't know. I have only owned 1 Chevy and it hit 381k without any major repairs, and it had a hard life as a farm truck. I have only owned 1 Ford and it has been perfect, but it only has 28k on it. My last truck a Dodge Ram 2500 Hemi was the biggest piece of shit I have ever encountered.

I know Many people who have had both and 90% of the people would go with ford over chevy. My uncle has an expidition and a silverado 2500 duramax and the both have around 230,000 miles that he has put on them. He runs both of them really hard but the ford has held up to the abuse way better. He had to replace the alternator on the expidition but that was it. The silverado has had problems from overheating to fuel dilivery problems transmision problems to the belt tensioner breaking.

I had an expedition before my Tundra. I will never buy a ford with the current 5.4L in it. I replaced that engine twice in less than 150,000 miles. My grandma, who retired from GM, bought a Tundra and her statement was, "this is the best truck I have ever owned". She has driven trucks all her life, from all big three manufacturers. I was hesitant when I bought my Tundra, but have had no regrets. The new RAM is nice though, and the new ford is hideous in my opinion.

I wouldn't own a ford if they gave it to me, the new body style F-150 is completely ugly. The old body style was attractive in ways but the head lights and body lines of the new one are horrid. The dodge looks better but looks aren't everything. The toyota is uglier than the Ford (by a little). The Chevy is the best looking truck out and i am a chevy fan but I like other things as well. My mom had a Ford Tarsus and it blew up, literally, about killed my dad. I will always own, and drive a chevy

The Current Silverado is hideous! The GMC isn't bad looking but, the F-150 is still better looking. The Dodge is pretty good looking and it has the most comfortable interior that I have sat in, but I had a '05 2500 Hemi and it was constant problems. The Mexican built Hemi engine is a little scary to me also.

Ford is the only truck company I trust. I have a ranger with 210,000 miles a F150 with 327,000 miles and two F250s that you cant kill. Ive tried. My buddie bought a brand new silverado last year and has had nothing but problems. Anything from brake rotors keep warping to door lock actuators to electronic problems. The only thing I like about the dodges is the cummins and the toyota speakes for itself. Ford all the way!!!

I also have a '96 Chev 1500 Z-71 with almost 400,000 miles, it has been a great truck but it has had its fair share of problems(none that have left me stranded on the roadside like my NEW '05 Dodge did). I would love to have another Dodge i think they are the best looking trucks on the road(especially the '10 Ram 3500 Dually's) but after the problems with my '05 it will take them a while to earn my buisness back(and the fact they are owned by Fiat ain't helping them).

The Dodge has a max towing capacity of 9,100lbs with the 5.7L Hemi. Google is you're friend. I had a Ram 2500 w the 5.7L Hemi, it was complete garbage, poor fit and finish, poor fuel economy (and yes i am aware it is a 3/4ton truck), and poor road manners(again im aware it is a 3/4ton). I purchased a '08 F-150 FX4 and haven't looked back.

The Fiat Ram needs that lifetime warranty because it is the only way people will buy their crappily made truck. The Dodge can only tow 9,100lbs MAX, the Ford tows over 11,000 and the GM and even Toyota can tow more than 10,500lbs. I love my new Dodge Ram with a heated steering wheel and navigation, it's great when i take it to buy grocerys.

You cant go by the videos. They are tailored to the Truck making the video. Chevy has the same video performing the same test. Chevy made their car move smooth and the ford perform sloppy. Doge has a camera on their truck showing how smooth the RAM is on highway with the new suspension. I vote the Toyota the best. It reminds me of a girl doing the rump shake on a rap video. WTF were they thinking, and the chevy has such narrow leaf springs on the back no wonder it didn't do worth a damn. The Kentucky Truck Plant and Louisville Assembly Plant are both located in Louisville. Shelbyville isn't too far of a drive to either plant, but I believe its closer to the Truck Plant.
The Explorer plant should be hiring once they are done retooling it for the Kuga/Escape they are suppose to be building for 2011. I believe they are looking to run 3 shifts. If so, they will probably hire 1500 people or more cause they are only running one shift with about 1000 employees. Good Luck!
