Gene is the type of person who, if things are not done his way, he throws a fit! How long should anyone have to put up with that kind of crap? I was sad when Ace left Kiss, but I understand why he did. I've been a hardcore fan since 1975. I saw them when they had their Reunion tour, The Psycho Circus Tour and the Farewell Tour. I've seen Ace a few times since he's been touring the last few years. Ace's shows are GREAT!! He can do what he wants on stage, he's in control of it.

During the Revenge tour some shows were only selling 5,000 tickets. I know that Gene and Paul shit their pants because they knew they needed Ace and Peter. As soon as they did the multi-year mega tour in makeup and milked Ace and Peter for all they were worth they fucked them over. The only bad thing about the short reunion is that Gene and Paul got to capitalize on the two most talented members of the bands all the way to the bank.

I read a book by the electrician who worked for KISS and modified Ace's guitars to have the 3rd pickup. That's where they housed the "smoke bomb" material for the smoking guitar effect. Ace has a cool-old-rocker look, plays well and has a good post KISS following. The only thing that held back a killer solo career was his singing. Still, hats off to the guy!

I love Ace. There may be better guitarists out there, but few have that depth of soul and emotional richness that Ace has. 30 years later, I still remember every note of many of his solos. Too bad he couldn't stay sober
