I remember seeing "Virgen de Covadonga" at Medina del Campo in May, 1988, at the head of a Talgo bound for Salamanca. Amazing that they are still around!
Unfortunately thay aren't anymore in service. In the beginning there were 8 of them, but due to fatal accidents every time the class had less and less units. Finally, in 2010 there were only two units alive and I think Renfe decided to retire them.
Now the diesel locomotives pulling passenger trains are 100% class 334 (sister of UK class 67).
qué pena, espero que salven alguna del soplete y nunca dejen de rugir esos bravísimos 4000 CV
