ohh ok i have a keyboard that i can connect to pc so it can act as a midi controller...so do u think i will have a greater advantage in terms of making music as oppposed to my pc keyboard or mouse?
hey quite useful videos man, can i ask u a question... how do u makes chiptunes?(if u do) do u use ur normal pc keyboard or a midi controller/pad? do u know if u are able to?cause i think u can...
@Chrissss698 Milkytracker supports MIDI, but i just use the keyboard at the bottom of the screen. I have a little 49 key casio next to me to help me with chords.
Even if you sound a bit confused these are probably the best tracker tutorials I've seen, I've been wanting to learn this a while and now I think I'm getting it, thanks. If you do more I request more on generating instruments since I didn't even know I could do that!
I found these videos very helpful, thank you for doing this! My only complaint is I had to turn the volume on youtube and my laptop speakers to max to be able to hear your voice.
Awesome tuts! I had to put my headphones on to hear you though. I took as many notes as possible... I will be sure to screw around with milky tracker, as you suggested.
The part that was the most helpful was how to make the drums and beats, I was having issues with setting the beats as I am used to only using programs like Finale.
If you could make a part three on properly composing a song, that'd be good. I do my best learning by ear.
@stereobread7 i downloaded, however, since then I have found a better sample pack which is easy to download and you wont be "pirating" if you do so. Its called the Amiga ST samples pack, and can be found here on the 8bitcollective website, in the forums under the Commodore/Amiga forum. The thread is called ST-01 through ST-99. It contains mostly 8 and 16 bit samples which work and sound better with milkytracker. Hope that helps!
what other ways did you learn, i feel like there is so much to take in to become at least decent. Like right now i'm having trouble with the pitches. It sounds fine alone but when i try playing along to it on like my piano or guitar, milky trackers like way out of the key it claims to be in. Tried messing with the "relative note" note up/down but i can never get it to the exact pitch. Know anything about this?
@stereobread7 Yes. When you are in the instrument editor, look near the bottom right, you should see a meter for an option called F Tune (fine tune). Get the pitch as close as you can with the relative note, and then you should be able to get it exact with the F Tune option. Milky can be out of key for some samples because it depends on how many kHz the sample is, i don't know a whole lot about how to fix that, but thats the reason from what I know.
Thanks for making this.

@wallh4cks If you do decide to continue, please try to record to voice a bit louder. It's pretty quiet. Thanks!
