@BoogieWithStew LOL should have bought the hx series then... i can hear the fan in my cas! even when idle... thought the cheaper one would make me satisfied..... but only my psu is the only one thats not silent in my pc!! grrrrrr corsair........maybe if i put some cotton below the PSU it will be silent from the vibrations inside the case
I've got the HX850W 850 watts PSU. I can easily use crossfire in my system. Check out the vids in my channel. You can see my gaming rig together with the HX850W and a lot of other stuff
When I mean burnt, the Hippercase got 100 ? degrees high- didnt dare running it, next the 12v+ was roasted at the connection to motherboard and behold the motherboard still works-nice quality I guess
Wow, sounds pretty lucky. 100 degrees Celsius is pretty hot, no wonder it burned out. This is why I always buy a quality PSU. There's nothing worse than baking (or nearly baking) a few hundred dollars worth of equipment because I paid 30 bucks for a shoddy power supply. The corsair PSU in this review might sound pretty expensive, but 150 bucks for something that'll run my computer solidly for the next 5-7 years is better than risking it.
i have an cmpsu-400cx. it is now modular. but still kick ass. it is 80 plus certified, but not 80 plus silver certified. it is good for mid range video card single setup.
My experience is that there are to many cheap power supplys-Im on my third 1. 480w .Second a520w and this one 450w- they just dont cope with a gamingload for me they live 1 year- then I must buy a new one and Im about to buy a new one now- just maybe this one
Cheaping out on power supplys is a no no, especially for gaming. I definitely recommend corsair, they make great psu's and mine have both served me strong.
Brand and workload often make a huge difference. Are you going through power supplies because they're second-rate versions? Or are they insufficient for the amount of hardware in your case? A good rule of thumb is that the heavier the psu is, the better chance you have of getting a good one.
well bsa, I bought a quality PSU 480w Hipper but it burnt on my motherboard after about a year, then then the next one burnt 2(520w cheap) , now I dont care i got a cheap Delacto
You can't? Well there is 2 video cards in 1 GTX 295 if you didn't know that, it's 2 GPU's in each card, so if you got two GTX 295 you got 4 gpu's or also called quad sli. You didn't know that did ya?
Well i know that the 850HX has x6 6/8-pin leads as opposed to the TX series which only have x4 6/8-pins. Also I know the HX series are slightly more efficient.
Hey rod, you should just make a video on what rails are, then you can just say "To understand this, you need to know what rails are." Then put an annotation with the link to the rails video.
As soon as I have money to burn I'm going to replace my TX650W with this because it's modular and has better cables. I don't even need the extra power but want a neater case :D
Corsair makes the best stuff. I've had my TX750W for a few months now and I'm loving it. Reliable, sturdy, everything you'd want in a PSU. It's a little overkill for me right now, but if I get another 4870 I'll be taking full advantage of what it has to offer.

niels2029 1 year ago
@niels2029 If the fan is loud you can swap it out for a Scythe fan, or better yet, a Noctua fan.
Some foam pads should take care of any vibrations in the case, etc.
Good luck!

I recently bought the HX520W, and the packaging is nearly identical except for the lack of a cloth bag around the unit.
It's certainly a nice PSU, but still has a hardwired lead that I have no use for...

KapteinFruit 2 years ago
no way i dont think you can even do that.

I meant I dont think he can even do that because he has 750w power supply and i7 at 4.2 ghz running.

A decent 750W PSU would be capable of that system so long as he isn't running any high power TECs.
