is there any difference in performance with the short shots? are they practical for longer trips?

No difference in performance just louder. The difference comes when you add a high flow air intake filter and change the fuel settings. You might gain small amout of HP.

It simple. I liked the short shots. They went on my wife's superglide. I missed the look with the full pipes and up the noise level with some slipons and sound great with the Rush 2.0. Personal preference.

Looks great and sound great! Nice job! Personally I really dig the stock exhaust shield too much so i went with the RUSH slip-ons w/1.75" interchangeable baffles that are similar to the stock look and obviously did not lose the "tommy gun" look. If you want to go w/bigger baffles you need to add a power commander and possibly air intake kit.

im so fustrated with pipes..dealer says i have to bring it in to remap motor. an having hard time tring to figure out how to w/o bringing it in. sert,pc3 im confused..grr  nice bike, nice pipes. havnt decided on the 1s i want yet.

did you put your fuelpak in yourself?if so how much of a job was it?

I did put the fuelpak on myself and due to the fact I have the HD Alarm/Siren it was somewhat a pain in the ass. However after fitting it in setup was easy

skull fuel cap is very cool! Pipes sound great, but I still think the stock pipe is much more distinctive. Do you miss the aesthetic?

I did like the look of the old pipes and was going to get rush pipes with 2 inch baffles. I dont miss the old pipes , still got them stashed away. Stock pipes are too muffled and dont produce that true harley sound.

they sound really good. u usually see these pipes on the smaller 1200 cc, but they sound great on the bigger engine.

almost all of the time u see short shots on like 1200 sportsters or other 1200 cc bikes; but wow, they sound really good on the bigger engines.

thanks, i listen to all different kinds on here and i like vance and hines better than any other brand, but cant decide which set i like the best. short shots, long shots, big shots, and side shots are my choices, but which is the best???

Acutualy if I had a second choice it would be V&H Radious pipes, but the Short shots do me just fine and are the most inexpensive of all the V&H pipes.

i honestly dont like the big radius as much as the others, they look great but i think there are some with a better sound. and yes short shots are cheaper, i cant believe the prices on some of thse other sets!!!!!

Hi there i just bought one of these and want to fit short shots. Mine is uk spec which has a lamder sensor do you know a way around this problem..

Best hing to do is call Vance and Hines in the US and ask. They dont seem to respond to emails ,but answer the phone questions with no problem. Sorry but I dont know about the UK specs and how it would work on it. Good luck.

I believe the short shots will work with mid controls. Best send an email to Vance and Hines just to be sure.

I like the idea of keeping the O2 sensors....what is the part number of the Fuel Pak you installed? I see one for 202.00 on ebay......he has a good rep.

Love the bike- I have a Dark Pearl Blue..... Pipes sound good. Is that Fuel Pak open loop? It does away with the O2 sensors on the headers? I kind of want to stay away from that. Great looking bike! All I have done so far is bought a comfy seat and a quick release back rest for my wife. And the Willy G foot pegs all round shifter and brake pedal.

Thanks for the comments. It uses the stock O2 sensors very easy to install. I just put new pegs and grips on.

and i am going to do the same setup that you have that looks great but it looks like the short shots wont work with mid controls ? also was hoping that i could find either a velocity stack or open air breather to add .

I dont see why they wouldnt work with midcontrols. They are just shorter than stock and dont go any lower...

Fat Bobs are forward mounts anyway.
