Yes, the US beat Spain but that was in the confederations cup, and none of the big dogs care about that: its only the the World Cup and the Euro Cup, and loosely the Copa America. Despite how awwful they all were in the World Cup, I also think that England, France and Italy are better. I rate the US along with the likes of Sweden, Japan, Czech Rep. and Russia: dark horses to be respected, but not to be feared.

Still better than 95% of the other teams, but just not better than the top 5%. That last hurdle is a big one. I honestly believe that the US will become a much larger threat in the years to come, but until the infrastructure and domestic support is there, they just wont make the final cut.

It almost happened in '86 (Mexico losing on penalties to West Germany) and in 2002 (USA outplaying Germany and still losing. Bitterness still lingers over the Frings handball that QF. That, and Oliver Kahn being a stud in net).
There has been a CONCACAF team in the semis before.....but that was 80 years ago when the semifinal *was* the first knockout stage.

@snake82730 Are you a US fan? If you're a US fan, the Gold Cup is next summer. It includes the countries of North and Central America, as well as the Carribean Islands. The US is the big favorite to win, and Mexico is expected to do well also. The final could very well be Mexico vs. US, which would be amazing cause they're so bitter rivals. As far as other tourneys, every section of the world has a its regional cup. Idk about the exact dates though =/

It almost happened in '86 (Mexico losing on penalties to West Germany) and in 2002 (USA outplaying Germany and still losing. Bitterness still lingers over the Frings handball that QF. That, and Oliver Kahn being a stud in net).
There has been a CONCACAF team in the semis before.....but that was 80 years ago when the semifinal *was* the first knockout stage.

Jozy's still got a lead foot though. At the Algeria Match it was distressing to see him blasting shots over the bar, on chances that could have been settled with a chip or a tap. Like me playing FIFA 2002, w/ it's Shot Power Meter, after getting used to FIFA 99 and its single setting Shots on Goal, "Blam!" I also don't get why they don't have Attacking Wingers, vs relying on the Middle Midfielders all the time. Like an NFL Team which prefers Running Plays and not Pass Plays to move it up.
