I Love The Soundtrack From Gladiator, But I Have To Say, Hanz Zimmer Did An Excelent Job On This Movie. Also Hanz Zimmer Did All 3 Pirates Of The Caribbean Soundtrack, And If You Listen Carefully On Barbarain Horde On The Gladiator Soundtrack, I Think You Will Here Jack Sparrows Theme. But Also A Very Good Song, I Have The Whole Soundtrack On My IPod. And Gladiator Always Makes Me Cry When Ever I Watch It. I Don't Know What It Is, It's Just Sad :'( My Favourite Song Has To Be Sorrow!!!

Hanz Zimmer composed both this piece from gladiator and the more familiar 'pirates' theme, gladiator came first, pirates second, but the part everyone keeps referring to was represented in each.

not to mention the Mars theme from the Planets, which I heard actually got him into a lawsuit :s. But yep Zimmer, although he writes some great stuff, is quite uncreative at times and recycles his themes. If you run up and down a c major scale you can play themes from both Gladiator and Pirates they are incredibly similar.

Well, its because its Hans Zimmer famous style. He re-uses him self. And sometimes he pupils, Klaus, Nick-Glennie Smith, and those guys use the same as well.

Of course we've noticed it :) Until I didn't even heard of the Pirates of Caribbean movies, I had been wondering why the music of the Gladiator had become so popular...and not too much time later, I realized that it's another movie's soundtrack. I think it's needles to say that both of them were composed by Hans Zimmer, so that is why there is this intense similarity. If you listen to the Transformers soundtracks, you'll definitely hear familiar themes!

actually, the composers of PotC involve a dozen of musicians, incl. Hans Zimmer, and the original main theme and most of the themes in the first movie are - matter of fact - composed by Klaus Badelt. The themes of Transformers are composed by Steve Jablonsky, though it was said that Hans Zimmer had helped with the score, the styles still reflected Jablonsky's own interpretation. Someone say the scores of Robin Hood are similar to Transformers, but well I dont think Zimmer... (cont')

(cont')...was in this time. but certainly a lot of film scores nowadays are influenced by Hans Zimmer's work. that might be the reason that some sound slightly similar, but there's no way that they are close. Composing music is like writing poems. all romantic poems consist of similar words or scenes, all great music that tells stories of similar settings have some certain degree of similarity.

Did not like it at all....percussion at the 2:25 theme is shit and it's too slow! The "gladiator theme" at the end is weak and again the percussions and the trumpets do a poor job at the end.... by the way strange collage without real transitions
