Glass ornament looks a bit odd like it's a crystal ball instead of a hollow glass ornament. But the chrome ball looks great.

Hi great video, im new to this can you help me because evertime i drag a color/skin on an object all of the object changes color im trying to apply color on objects individually...I made my 3d in autocad 2008 and im planning to render it using 3ds max but it frustrates me help? pls? thanks more power

You must select 'Mental Ray' as a render engine.

to do so, go to : rendering - (tab) common - scroll down until you see 'Assign Renderer' - click the '...' that's on top (production) - select Mental Ray Rendrer and click OK. Problem soved! ;)

Lol i already saw 1 month but i have already been in your situation (1 hour before. really..), so i felt like helping you. :) fumefx? sorry but i just began 3 months ago, i can barely model and render.

For the hollow letters, in face mode, select the faces you want to hollow and Intrude them (Extrude or Bevel negatively).

@Toca91 To Render With FumeFx You Have To Clic On The Fume Fx Grid You Made And Go To The Modify Panel Then Look at the three buttons it has at the very beginning of the modify information of the fume fx grid and clic t he middle one. Then look for something named start simulation or simulate and there you go.

Dude, i know to render flame in fumefx, the problem is it won't render flame when mental ray is the rendering.

you have to go to render options, then press in COMMON and then you have to select the renderer, arch n design is a mental ray compile of texture, so you have to select mental ray as a renderer, and then you have it, press m, and then click on standard, it will appear in yellow.
