  • A lump in the throat or what?,fantastic peace of work rellimnaek.

Was you on a Leger Battlefield tour or was it off your own bat?.

I did the D-Day tour with Leger, worth every penny.

    Thanks for your movie.

  • @zemstamonte

I go out to Normandy as many times as i can.

Never been a tour always on my own back

    Glad you enjoyed the film

  • These men...it was them who gave the greatest sacrifice for freedom. Many today do not understand why they did it and are calling them terrorists, demons, and much more. Realize that they did not die in vain, but for all one cause. Freedom. God Bless those vetrans, God Bles those who sereved and are serving, and God rest those souls who died on that bloody beach. Never forget the memory, never forget the reason. Remember Always.

  • Thank you for your clips. This, too, is my favorite of all variations on youtube. Our municipal band played Hymn to the Fallen at our Fourth of July Patriotic Concert, 2010, at the Lee County Courthouse in Illinois. The arrangement is very melodic and has good lyric lines for most of the players.

  • served in afghan and iraq, and am proud one of the best friends i know today served in this war

  • god bless all those who fought to rid our world of the nazi menace and the evil of tiranny no matter what their nationality they faced death and they faced it like heros i thank them for every day i live in freedoom beacuse of their brave sacrifice thank you for making this world a free one

  • I just want you to know That this hymn and the video you put together perhaps discribes WW2 and the sacrifice our brave men and women made to save the world from tyranny. I have watched several versions and this one is my favorite. Too many people I feel have forgoten that fact.

  • Everyone did their part.

  • we didnt win the second world war on our own, we had help from the british, and russia, russia was one of our allies at the time, we are no longer allies with them, but the british are, they were the ones who fought beside us on the front lines, even in our darkest days, they were the ones who helped us build the atomic bombs,we should be more grateful towards them for that, we should honor those who died for our country, and our freedom, but not just them, the ones who are still with us today.

  • My friend that made my day. Thank you, im guessing your american, well i love america, and im glad that my family and friends helped you in the Great world war 2.

  • People in the USA are nor were never taught that we won WWII by ourselves. That is a myth, and the idiots that proclaim this to be true are idiots.

  • beautiful. I will never foget the sacrifices of all the honorable people that have served in the armed forces

  • hopefully yes...and they may even learn to spell...something that has obviously passed you by in your education

  • very well. this video will remind all the others that who have fallen for our cuntry fighting has not fallen in sperit. hopefully this video will also encurage others to join the military. thank you

  • Very well? cuntry? sperit? I don't even know what you're saying...You think you're gonna be in the military? Ha not with that spelling you probably don't know anything

  • As young Americans watch this moving video, I hope they will realise that - despite what they are brought up to believe - World War II was not won only by the Americans, neither were they the only troops to invade France on D-Day. Thousands of British, Canadian, French, Polish etc etc boys were there, too, fighting and dying in a common cause. Thank you, America, for contributing your wealth and soldiers, but please remember our boys were there, too. And we had been fighting Hitler since 1939.

  • Renard , we'll never forget the British Lion nor the other Allies united in common cause.

  • You Brits held off the German Air power pretty much on your own.Y'all have my respect."We will never surrender".

  • dont forget the Canadians cuz we fought and gained the most ground on D-day, then the British came in second with the Americans gaining the least. But I am thankful for all the Allied countries who took part in the invasion

  • It's not about who took the most ground on D-Day or who captured the most POW's etc. It's about liberating a contenant. It was Human history at it's worst yet at it's finest. Several great Nations came together and stood up against tyranny and opression, the three major allies (Canada, US and England) all lost men at staggering numbers. I would say to be thankful for those brave young guys who went over there to fight for the common good. Regardless of flag.

  • @puju1234 Stupid remark! About 1.1 million Canadians served. Some 45,000 were killed in action. 5,000 took part in Dieppe raid 1942. Canadians heavily involved in invasions of Sicily and Italy 1943, fought bravely throughout Italian campaign. On D-Day, only Canadians stormed Juno Beach, they got further inland than any other troops.

You are either deliberately provocative or ignorant of history - or both.

We in Britain salute the Canadians and all other nations who fought tyranny in WW2.

  • @renard801 Go look, what Romania,Finland,Greece,Yugoslavia,Hungary,Norway,China had to suffer in ww2, these countries casualties were much more than Canadians.

  • @puju1234 I do not dispute that at all - but it has nothing to do with your original comment, which was a stupidly misguided attack on Canada for allegedly playing no part in WWII.

I see you have now removed your comment. For the record I will reproduce it here, so people can understand my response above.

This is what you posted: "@renard801 Why should we rispect Canadians. They didnt do anything in WW2. There was so many other countries which did much more in WW2."

  • @renard801 Well how about your private message?

" Atleast Canadians werent allied with natzi scums like you Finns. Finland and other Axis countries doesnt deserver our rispect"

So if I were you I would shut up.

  • @puju1234 Oh, you poor, pathetic little person! To get your own back for my post, you pretend that I had sent that private message!

Well, sorry to point out that anyone with a grain of common sense will see from the dreadful grammar and spelling that you, and not I, composed that sentence. You even continue to misspell 'respect', just as you did in your original post!

It is disappointing that someone like you can come on here and defile such a moving, respectful tribute to the fallen.

  • @renard801 Yea Im really sorry that english isnt my homelanguage, because everybody isnt from UK you know. How about you show some rispect to Axis soldiers. Most of them werent Natzis, they were just normal people who answered the call.

Maybe you accidently sent the private message to me? Btw why you didnt post it in here?

  • @puju1234 Hello again. From curiosity, I've just clicked on your User Name and discovered that you are 20 years old and have previously been accused of Trolling on YouTube. Now it all makes sense!

    20-year-old Troll. End of. Goodbye!

  • @renard801 Thank you, you made my day.

  • @renard801 I will never forget those brave British, Canadian, Polish and French soldiers that fought beside our troops to free europe from Nazi tryanny. We Americans should never take all the credit. It was a joint effort and we all did our part in the war. God Bless every nation that freed europe from the Nazis

  • @renard801

dont forget the russia contribution but they seem to be hitler ally when the molotov treaty was signed thus freeing german forces to concentrate on the battle of france.

  • the video is great, but what hitler made war wrong.we are the next generation. we risked their lives in the hands of the tyrants have liberated. But we will continue our fallen soldiers will never forget.

    rest in peace

  • thank you very much veterans. you will never be forgotten. I also have to say I respect fallen soldiers from all nations during the War, including the Germans and Japanese

  • Williams' not only wrote a theme for Saving Private Ryan. He wrote the theme for the Greatest Generation ever. Maybe I should say for all Veterans. In Schindler's List he did the same. He wrote the theme for the Holocaust.

  • well said man

  • im going to cry

  • No one ever forget what these British, Canadians, and Americans did on that day 64 years ago. We all owe them our lives. They are all the epitome of bravery.

  • Great Tribute - My Dad was D Day + 6 hours, and Korea, and Vietnam. The scars he bears remind us Freedom isn't free. All Gave Some, Some Gave All. I was honored to follow in the legacy of all the of age male members of my family have worn a uniform in service to this great Country.

  • six of my realitives fought in ww2 and 4 of them gave their lives in an attempt to restore freedom the man who destroyed. remember all of those who gave their lives to defend us all from hitlers tyranny and tojo's cruel leadership

    And say

That for your tomorrow, we gave our today

    They suffered all

    Sacrificed all

    Dared all

    and died

  • So many deaths over one man with a twisted dream.

  • @they7692

i wish it was one man,

but it is human nature with regard to war,

look at how countries allocate vast resources of their GDP to imporve on their military.

  • @they7692

it was never one man, there were a lot of willing accompline.

  • those soldiers in there...that sacrifice....the duty to follow...its now our proud that we respect...they all are heroes...now and forever....they will never be forget...RIP...our brothers...very good video..you are invited to see my tribute to WW 2

  • that famous footage on D-Day of the soldier falling as he is shot. It looks like he fell dead, i always wonder if he made it. I guess we'd know if he did... Most the D-Day film was lost, fell in the sea.. Awesome theme, just awesome by the Great Mr Williams..

  • I wasn't borne till 1948 but was bought up on memories of WW2 and I played in the ruins of the bombed out buildings in London.

We must never forget the sacrifice these people made for us all.

  • very moving to say the least. great footage and great music. may god bless all the familys affected by any kind of war.

  • yes gatot is right there is a famous quote he who wishes for peace shall prepare for war

  • The world may never know true peace, but as long as there are brave men and women who will sacrifice everything they have to fight for what is beautiful in this world, then at least there will be a chance.

  • this video is great i got to say. i've had relatives in every war since WW1. we have lost a great deal of famiyl to ballte but we know that it is for the good of people every where and that to sacrifice ones self to make the work better for all is a great thing ot do. so i want to say good job with it.

  • They will always be remembered. Thank you veterans!

  • My Grandfather fought along side some of the British Solders in Italy and France. He always mentioned what magnificent fighting men they were and how fortunate we were to be allies. Great video, thanks very much.

  • God Bless all the men who fought for freedom

  • That was excellent.

  • what a waste.but we should be so gratefull.but for them go i

  • poor souls

  • They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:

Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning

    We will remember them.

    We WILL remember them.

  • the army shouldnt fight the politicians should

  • today in australia is Anzac day LEST WE FORGET

  • RIP Veterans on both sides

  • great video!!!!!!!

  • the army shouldnt fight the politicians should

  • The army is only an instrument of government and that is how it usually is. There is a fine line between command and cowardice, compassion and objective command. Thats why it such an emotive issue.
