Man I used to love these commercials when I was a lil dude. Hell I still love it! Thanks for postin this up. I have a 87 Monte SS. Gotta get a set. Cuz thats what Paws are made for. LOL!
I remember this ad, and after going through about 3 sets of these in 1000 miles, I learned why they performed as they did! They were soft and the GTO was tons of torque.
Wow, commercials were pretty odd back then. The guys monotone voice freaks me out. If the audio and voiceover was different, it may have been more interesting.
commercials have become so lame nowadays.....somebody actually had to think and design this commercial.....not all computer graphics garbage.....and intuitive.....( now you will get some stupid dancing hip hop kids doing the same stupid dance to sell tires.....so michael jackson or jessica simpson.....cmon assholes in advertising...get off drugs and bring good ol american commercials back@!!
The Pontiac GTO. In 1964 Pontiac worked out a deal with US Royal (now Unroyal) for some high performance redline tires, The US Royal Super Safety 8oo. Pontiac used the term wide track tiger for their GTO. so when USA REoyal made the deal, they nicknamed the Super Safety 800 'Tiger Paws' because of the GTO, but the hot rodders nickenamed the GTO The Goat. Thanks for inquiring.
My 19 year old son just told me he put Tiger Paws on his new car, and loved seeing this old ad!

I have an animation cell from one of these commercials. It has the tiger as the cell (LARGE) and Uniroyal plant behind him as the background.
I love it and would like to see the whole commercial.

Cool--have you got the UNI ROY & AL Commercials were there doing stunts in their 72-73-74 Venturas.
