  • oops got you mixed up with another. I am learning from you

  • could not find your harp on ebay. where do I get one and how much are they? Sure sound good would like to have a few, thanks

  • @srsteve12 ???? I am not selling harps on e-bay. It's just a normal harp I am playing here.

  • Lee Oscar is the only harp I will play, it's easy and sounds great and lasts a life time.

  • @srsteve12 Lee makes great harps, but you can make them all sound good if you have an open and relaxed embouchure.

  • Hey Jon,

You should do a book like " Bluesify your melody " only all third position tabs . I'd buy it in a second .

    oldguy

  • Comb your Hair!

  • are u playing d minor chords or d major chords

  • very good...you look like silvester stallone !! :-)

  • i just bought one. you look blazed as hell though. aha.

  • You are GREAT . I appreciate this.. playing harmonica myself for many years.. Love that ending line!

    See ya!

  • Gindinck, you're the man!

  • For some reason im finding it really hard to understand you joshua fought the battle of jericho. It should be easy for me as ive learnt much more complicated things...

  • @elkrobber oh no wait i've got it now haha. Cheers for the video my friend.

  • im liking 3rd position. ive always liked the sound of the chromatic harmonica, but its hard to learn. i think 3rd, and even 4th sounds a little closer to the chromatic because you dont need to bend as much. plus it gets you up into the upper octaves on the harp so it doesnt have that standard blues harp sound. which dont get me wrong, its great, but over done i think.

  • will somebody PLEASE tell a good harp to buy. Jon...what kind of harp do you play? Im going to order one right away.

  • I play Hohner Special 20 diatonic harmonicas.

  • @JamCamp06 just out of interest why the special 20 as apposed to the marine band?

  • @JamCamp06

Play one all night and your lips will really appreciate that plastic comb in the Special 20. And, the price is right, too.

  • Thanks Jon, great lesson as usual.

  • wasnt that like the pink panther lol..?whatever it was..(the first song u played)..was awesome!i loved it :)

  • Do you have any tips for bending 2 draw? I just can't bend it enough...

    Thanks

  • is there any vids that actualy show you how to play from stratch?

  • I have videos on you tube, plus books, cds and

an online video lesson series at my website at

    Gindick dot come.

  • ok,but i have a 16 hole diatonic harmonica

  • How do you bend on the 2 draw when you're playing it as chords?

  • I don't bend it when I am playing a chord.

  • Just saw that--thanks.

  • awesome! really cool! I see you are with soul in blues! thats good! blues riffs comes out different from every people! because blues coming from your own soul!! I LOOOVE BLUES!!!

  • ABSOLUTELY LUV IT BRO

  • hey thanks so much for the lessons.. I have been playing for a week now and found your videos really helpful!.. I think the harp will bring me loads of joy! and I owe it to you and all the other harp tutors online.,.keep up the good work!.. Dan from London

  • thank you for the great play. its realy very inspiring. i wanted to ask you, do i have to by a pentatonic harp or which kinds of harmonica i need i order to play blues?

    best,

    Hiwa

  • I heard "i'm in love with 3rd position" and i thought there was a Kama Sutra course on Youtube.

Thanks for the lessons. Huge help.

I learned Harmonica in a guard tower in the Air Force. Talk about the blues!

I never managed the vibrato technique tho.

    Any pointers?

  • I learned how to play when I was a kid with your "Country and Blues Harmonica for the Musically Hopeless."

  • Great lesson as always John. Which harp holder do you use?

  • did you ever find out what kind of holder that is unidavidson?

  • To play on the C-blues-harp in Dorian (on D) and than create a D-blues-scala from it was totally new for me. Thank you for this lesson. Compliment for your emotionally and clean playing.

  • Fantastic lesson! It was a little eerie when I was playing along and you said, "boy you sound good" LOL! I've subscribed.

  • my harp seems to cover those notes- up to a point- is it possible to have a simple harp which plays a basic scale which wont cover the notes you can cover on yours? or is it me not being able to play it? :-(

  • You look like shit what have you done to yourself? Are you OK? JC

  • You mean the plastic surgery didn't work? Damn!

  • i wish i could put some thumbs up on your comment, jaja made me crack

  • big thank you--this helps a lot.

  • thanks!!!

    big help (:

  • what harp are you using there?

  • C harp.

  • It's cool to hear. I'll try.

  • Easier than first position

  • If you talking blues, yes.

  • Of course I do, anyway thanks a lot for your much appreciated job, it's very helpfull; long life to the Blues.

  • super good ... been listening to Ronnie E. and Jason R. a lot ... this video is super instant clarity ... can now do the schtick from 1st hole draw as well as 4th hole but not quite as good ... as for multiple holes octaves and stuff thats going to take a lot more time ... but this is one of the best places to start ... and the walls came a tumbling DOWN

  • mmmm falta algo que tradusca.. se escucha genial!!!

  • easy, learn some english

  • CORRECTION: the 3d unbent can be used to make this scale more jazzy. I am coming to see this after brutal arguments with Jimi Lee and Jason Ricci, and I must say they are right. You can usethis note. But to my ear it is a tricky note, that potentially clashes. But when you can work it in, it is brilliant. Thanks Jason and Jimi for correcting my sorry ass.

Check 'em out over on my channel. I'd love to hear what you think of 'em! Your instructional vids are an inspiration to us all! I'm def gonna make to a Jam Camp one of these days... I just gotta finish my dissertation first! ;)

  • Hi--I listened/watched and you are definitely getting the hang of it. Best wishes--Jon

  • Thanks a lot! I really appreciate it! BTW, I've been playing "joshua fought the battle of jericho" non-stop since I watched your lesson!

  • you have fallen in love with 3rd position? OHHH MYYY

  • Nice job on breaking down 3rd position!

  • Great job

  • Excellent lesson!

  • i love 3rd position. it sounds sweet but mournful. another great vid, thanks.

  • Sweet!! I had stumbled upon this idea once... Then kinda forgot about it. Thanks for reminding me! lol :) Great stuff! 3rd position!! I love it!!

  • What a wonerdferful expression just breathing what you feel, in and out, two notes.

The first is the beginning, the second is the end.

The beginning and the end and evrything in the middle.

    That's the blues.

    Thanks bro...

  • Thanks Jon. I'm going to enjoy working on this (BTW, when's your next Jam Camp in Cali?).
