For some reason im finding it really hard to understand you joshua fought the battle of jericho. It should be easy for me as ive learnt much more complicated things...
im liking 3rd position. ive always liked the sound of the chromatic harmonica, but its hard to learn. i think 3rd, and even 4th sounds a little closer to the chromatic because you dont need to bend as much. plus it gets you up into the upper octaves on the harp so it doesnt have that standard blues harp sound. which dont get me wrong, its great, but over done i think.
awesome! really cool! I see you are with soul in blues! thats good! blues riffs comes out different from every people! because blues coming from your own soul!! I LOOOVE BLUES!!!
hey thanks so much for the lessons.. I have been playing for a week now and found your videos really helpful!.. I think the harp will bring me loads of joy! and I owe it to you and all the other harp tutors online.,.keep up the good work!.. Dan from London
thank you for the great play. its realy very inspiring. i wanted to ask you, do i have to by a pentatonic harp or which kinds of harmonica i need i order to play blues?
To play on the C-blues-harp in Dorian (on D) and than create a D-blues-scala from it was totally new for me. Thank you for this lesson. Compliment for your emotionally and clean playing.
my harp seems to cover those notes- up to a point- is it possible to have a simple harp which plays a basic scale which wont cover the notes you can cover on yours? or is it me not being able to play it? :-(
super good ... been listening to Ronnie E. and Jason R. a lot ... this video is super instant clarity ... can now do the schtick from 1st hole draw as well as 4th hole but not quite as good ... as for multiple holes octaves and stuff thats going to take a lot more time ... but this is one of the best places to start ... and the walls came a tumbling DOWN
CORRECTION: the 3d unbent can be used to make this scale more jazzy. I am coming to see this after brutal arguments with Jimi Lee and Jason Ricci, and I must say they are right. You can usethis note. But to my ear it is a tricky note, that potentially clashes. But when you can work it in, it is brilliant. Thanks Jason and Jimi for correcting my sorry ass.
Hey John, I'm in love with 3rd position too! I've got a couple vids up of me playing some third pos stuf (one slow blues, and my 3rd pos version of Amazing Grace). Check 'em out over on my channel. I'd love to hear what you think of 'em! Your instructional vids are an inspiration to us all! I'm def gonna make to a Jam Camp one of these days... I just gotta finish my dissertation first! ;)
Great playing!

@srsteve12 ???? I am not selling harps on e-bay. It's just a normal harp I am playing here.

Lee Oscar is the only harp I will play, it's easy and sounds great and lasts a life time.
srsteve12 1 year ago
@srsteve12 Lee makes great harps, but you can make them all sound good if you have an open and relaxed embouchure.

Hey Jon,
You should do a book like " Bluesify your melody " only all third position tabs . I'd buy it in a second .

I heard "i'm in love with 3rd position" and i thought there was a Kama Sutra course on Youtube.
Thanks for the lessons. Huge help.
I learned Harmonica in a guard tower in the Air Force. Talk about the blues!
I never managed the vibrato technique tho.
Any pointers?

What a wonerdferful expression just breathing what you feel, in and out, two notes.
The first is the beginning, the second is the end.
The beginning and the end and evrything in the middle.
That's the blues.
Thanks bro...
