@refillz leveling up negotiation is also great, you can get the Cinqueda (spelling may be wrong) which gives you the awesome "Steal: Ability" ability. If you didn't do Wanted! Diaghilev Goldeye you can steal the Steal: Weapon ability from the thief.

to anybody who thinks this doesn't work...it does. i tried it. it takes several hours, and SEVERAL times doing both of the missions but it does eventually work. it is great hitting people that early in the game with my favorite technique.
Night is the only move you should be using to put foes to sleep, IMO, and, while Beatdown works, it's so much more satisfying to use Last Breath/Rockseal or at least the ultima attacks if you really want to see numbers appear (or if there's an immunity involved).
You can get your first Ultima-teaching weapon as early as after the Ultima Crystals storyline mission, assuming you place locations on the map in an organised way.
Berserk is a waste of time, if you ask me. It's only good for the enemy before you can kill them, but you'll rarely be able to take advantage of it yourself. Surely, berserking a mage works great but why not kill it instead?
And yeah, Attack UP comes with a superior bonus to WAtk than DG, not sure if this applies to A2.

Ok. So, I've beaten the game multiple times. Well I decided to start playing it again using Marche only (with the exceptions of dispatches.) When you mean "liberating" areas, I can't figure out if you mean to rescue the area from attack or to let it be stolen from you and redo the mission to win it back.
Are you following me? You need the Nosada blade to learn abilities of any kind. In this game, equipment teaches specific classes different skills (active, passive, support and combo). A Ninja won't just learn Double Sword on its own, as you need to equip it with a Nosada katana, and in order to equip two blades, you need to equip the s-ability first.
The same way I show. Boost your Smithing. Or if you're far enough in the game (like, approaching the final battles far), you have a good chance of getting one as a mission prize.
Lol i miss this game it was fun i beat the newer version of it and finished like 350 quests but after a while it gets to a boring point like they give me 1 new quest at a time and its always that "catch a chocobo" quest i think this FFtactics was better.

Google for TFergusson quest guide. It has all the information about what is necessary to trigger any of the missions. I have to say though, if you tossed some items away, say goodbye to your chances to get all the 300 missions.

I'm talking about items you receive mainly as rewards for completing missions, which in turn are used to provide access to new missions. Mythril weapons are equippable items for different classes, do not mistake them for mission items. Be careful though, Mythril Pick is a mission item not a weapon, so don't sell it accidentally.

@speedybo0m dude trust me i have the same problem. I have 285 missions and after many years i still cant beat it. It is because you threw away items that were needed for missions and they will never come back. the only way to beat it is to get a friend to trade you those items from his or her gameboy, and i DOUBT anyone has this game anymore...so looks like u have to start over like i did, and dont throw away the essentials! I started new one and have 180 missions right now.
Equip weapons that teach the Thief Steal: whatever skills. Fight battles with them. Learn two of these skills an your Thief will be able to change into a Ninja.

Remember to check what the laws are. Some don't limit you much, others do tremendously. If you enter a mission on a day when, say, Damage to animals (=any monster) is banned, and there are monsters around, it's a good idea to reset and enter on a different day.
Sometimes you can adjust your actions to the rules, sometimes you have just the right antilaw card with you (you get these very soon into the game), but it's a good idea to enter missions on days when the laws are friendly.
To get ninja which is a kick asss job you need. you have master 2 thief abilities like steal armor and steal weapon or something. go for the ones that are easier so master because they need require less ap. once to master two thief jobs go to change job and then ur a awesome NINJA

Have you set his passive ability to Double Sword? Remember that it's just the ability that the weapon teaches, not its trait. The katana itself will not attack twice, but setting your passive ability to Double Sword AND THEN equipping a second weapon will allow you to attack twice.

They're all kinda long, and the YT limit is only 11 minutes. But more importantly, that would be kinda abusive to the band. Even if you own the album, you have no legal rights to publicly share their work. Though I do believe I help spread love for good independent music by using it in my videos, that would be one step too far.
There should be whole track samples on progarchives do t co m, and you could take the responsibility yourself by sampling the whole album on soulseek.

You can't equip more than one passive skill so you'll have to choose between offence and defence. Personally I think you don't need any defence in this game.
Keep clearing missions. If you equip two Nosadas, you'll gain AP twice as fast. If you have many areas to liberate/help, you'll get 160 AP per mission and learn it in no time at all.
You need to make your Human a Ninja (master two thief active abilities) to master the ability. Assassins can also equip the katana, but they can't learn Double Sword.

wow, now this is a nice way to get this Katana. The first time I played FF T:A, I got the weapon on lvl 15... at lvl 17, I had mastered it with my hero. Then the legendary red and blue swords equipped: I two-hitted the last boss.

If you don't want to get it the way shown in this video (increasing Smithing), you can randomly get it to appear as a mission award for one of the endgame quests beginning with the Mateus stage.
Personally with visual boy advance i find that using Fraps uses a LOT less space for those of us will small hard drives. Check out my Let's Play IN PROGRESS!
You could always record with the record avi function installed in the emulator and choose a reasonable compression not to have any huge files on your hard drive.

a lot of people are crazy about double wielding.
its good abillity but there are other ways to deal nice damage.
Like double grip + bone crusher,
sleep + beatdown
and many other ideas.

Double Grip is very much inferior to Attack+.

ultima abillities are late,
but things that put enemy to sleep or berserk
are aquired fast and are great backup for melee units
berserk enemy and send unit with bone crusher near it.....
or use sleep and instantly kill it or steal everything from it.

you are talking about situation when you have crazy weapons and high levels.
If your standard attack deal like 400 dmg or more ANY skill will be overkill.

I thought this game was awsome, then i got half of my guys put in jail just for attacking the enemy, every thing got me yellow card.
Like on my 5th fight, i can't beat it, my guys always go to jail.
How do i kill them, when every time i damage them with magic or attacks are getting my guys in jail?!?

its further in the game when ( normally ) your about lvl 20 you will get a mission to beat a clan rewarding you with it

Locke, u named hium that way for the FFVI character right? even made him a thief (who claims to be a treasure hunter.... but i don't see the difference between a treasure hunter who steals and a thief)

You just have a human become a thief, and then Master two Thief skills, which are the "Steal" skills.

Hey MoogleBoss, do you know how to get a second one?? I have no clue how to, but I bought a guide book (this was a long time ago :P) and in the back of it, it says to equip two Nosada to learn Double sword in half the time.

It's a random mission award later in the game.
You can also steal one from a Ninja in some rare missions, like the Shadow Clan.

They're all kinda long, and the YT limit is only 11 minutes. But more importantly, that would be kinda abusive to the band. Even if you own the album, you have no legal rights to publicly share their work. Though I do believe I help spread love for good independent music by using it in my videos, that would be one step too far.
There should be whole track samples on progarchives do t co m, and you could take the responsibility yourself by sampling the whole album on soulseek.

Sounds good I totally understand. I just loved the song on here and I couldn't find any of the other stuff anywhere. Thanks for the tip of sampling the album on those sites, I just wanted to hear a little more of the album before purchasing Moonshine in it's entirety. Thanks for introducing me to Collage though!

With cheats i once did 1998 damage. (2x999 dual wielding Excaliburs with 999 all stats if i correctly remember)

It has nothing to do with levels. Master two active Thief a-abilities and you'll unlock Ninja. Human only, of course.

You can't equip more than one passive skill so you'll have to choose between offence and defence. Personally I think you don't need any defence in this game.

Keep clearing missions. If you equip two Nosadas, you'll gain AP twice as fast. If you have many areas to liberate/help, you'll get 160 AP per mission and learn it in no time at all.

Thieves Guild guide teaches many of the things you need to know about the game. Find it on GameFAQs.
It's also a good idea to learn how to use the Quest FAQ if you want to do all the 300 missions.

You need to make your Human a Ninja (master two thief active abilities) to master the ability. Assassins can also equip the katana, but they can't learn Double Sword.

wow, now this is a nice way to get this Katana. The first time I played FF T:A, I got the weapon on lvl 15... at lvl 17, I had mastered it with my hero. Then the legendary red and blue swords equipped: I two-hitted the last boss.

If you don't want to get it the way shown in this video (increasing Smithing), you can randomly get it to appear as a mission award for one of the endgame quests beginning with the Mateus stage.

You could always record with the record avi function installed in the emulator and choose a reasonable compression not to have any huge files on your hard drive.
