  • 2 people aren't lucky

  • Amazing how just one person can captivate and thrill thousands of people arround the world with only one microfone and one guitar.

  • I was there! Love!

  • its hard to believe this song is about a man crashing his car off a cliff right after talking to his wife, because its so beautiful

  • its nice sonG!!!, but damn 1dislikes :|

  • @glocker68 Yeah, it was awesome! Wanted to go to McCaw Hall so bad, I'm sure that was great! Check out my channel, I have a couple videos of the Microsoft Store performance.

  • I agree

  • What will soon become of me? So Damn Coolage!

  • Awesome! I can imagine how amazing that must have been. I was lucky enough to see him do a solo acoustic set last year in Bellevue Washington, pretty damn cool!

  • @patricktito at the Microsoft store? That must've been incredible! Wish I could've made it to that. Did get to see him and Tim at McCaw Hall in Dec though, and that was amazing.

  • anyone know where and when this was?

  • @patricktito Polaris Amphitheatre Columbus, Ohio Farm Aid 2003 and I was there!!!!!

  • this is the only dave matthews song I like, but it is very very good

  • that's the best of him I have ever seen... I'm taken aback

    bardzo ładna ta gitara

  • thankx bob

  • Music Video of the Day! Dave played this last night!

  • DAVE, nobody can sing it better than you. I too am "So Damn Lucky". Thank you Dave!

  • i like it so much better when he uses his taylor solo instead of the martin

  • When Dave and Tim get together, they make magic. I'm glad he and the guys can do solo projects and reunite for incredible group albums. Regaring a post or two, I can tell you that Dave and Boyd never had a falling out.... They have had their disagreements; but they are the two strongest members in the band. Do you remember a bartender looking for a chance in the south? Boyd gave him that chance.........Look what happend

  • damn right hes lucky

  • i always like to hear dave unaccompanied.... i guess that's because that was the first time i heard this song was when he played it acoustically in africa i believe... something about that version.. still like the album version just prefer acoustic

  • great! Magnificientttt.... only love only laughing... magnificient... °I°

  • dave changed the lyrics to his songs all the time, dumb ass.

  • @6shot6 just cuz he changes his lyrics doesnt mean u have to call him that this guy is so good and amazing theres no way u could top him!!!!

  • @r0bfam04 i wasnt calling dave a dumb ass, ha

  • this song is so damn underrated!!!!

  • @DmB4LiFe420eL It sure is...definitely one of my all time favorite songs of his!

  • this is my favorite song of hi. I don't think it loses anything, just being him. It's like, the pure form of the song.

  • This song sums up my life.

  • u can tell at a couple parts he's like "friggen balls i wish i had some drums right now" lol

  • So pure of a voice and musical talent. Thank you Dave for sharing.

  • wasn't this in Atlanta? LAKEWOOD BABY!

  • some town called farmaid...lol...

  • Right after "I'm dizzy from all this spinning" I expect to hear Tim come in with his volumed, delayed guitar, making that cool sliding noise.

  • is this a real question?

  • hahahahahaa

  • This isn't. This is just Dave Matthews playing solo.

  • this song is from his solo album

  • Precious!! Thank u!! I love this song...

  • i jsut went to the toronto show amd it was absolutely incresible

    youll have a great time

  • curious to how you found out it was due to a car crash that this song was written? All songs have different interpretations....so, how does Grace is gone intrepret to you?

the car crash never happened , btw

  • this tweeter? or comcast center? definetly issss....i think i was thereee

  • Share!!

  • this song is so amazing, definitely on my favorites list :)

    love dmb <3

  • god how i want that guitar! anyone know of a cheaper substitute?

  • is this about a car crash or what. it sounds like it though

  • i think it's written metaphorically.

  • i dont think its written metaphorically... what are u saying that the car and stuff represents something besides a car? the song has meaning and stuff but it is talking about a car crash i think

  • i guess it's open to interpretation. that's the beauty of music. :)

  • he was in a car crash (this is a true story), and there was two cars, he was driving one, and someone else was driving the other. he was in the back car, and he wanted his wife in there with him. she said like, no really ill go ahead (so damn lucky, you went on ahead).

a few minutes later, he slid off the road, and the passenger side of the car was hit, right where his wife would have been.

  • wow. interesting. makes the song mean so much more. thanks!

  • of definatley, my english teach told me this story actually...

  • lol sooo damn luckyy

  • this is a good song!!!

  • Can anyone paint lyrics like Dave? You can really see his love of art through his music... you just close your eyes and visualize the story unfolding. I am haunted by this song every time I hear it.. brilliant.

  • @joecovelli1971 totally agreee

  • This is prettiest melody Dave's come up with since Crash. Awesome.

  • yea its nice...but i think arguable..IMHO i love Shotgun's melody

  • Very arguable indeed... Every single one of Dave's songs is perfected in their perfect ways.

  • Dave never fails to impress the Hell out of me Even in concerts he souds just like the CD

Live Long Dave Live forever your beautiful music

    -Your biggest Fan

  • Great song:-)

  • After rolling my car off a cliff I herd this song and burst into tears reflecting on my own luck.Goose bumps...

  • That opening riff (main riff) in this song is just ... so, simply amazing.

  • genius and there's nothing else to say

    amazing

  • I (insert heart) DAVE...he makes me melty :)

  • Really nice song .. =]

  • Why is Dave with the band? Did they like break or something?

  • ....he does do solo's you..now know.

    or

this could be before the band but i really doubt it

  • Dave is still with his band. They got together in the early 90s when dave was reallllly young. He's older in this video so this was way after he formed his band. He's just a soloist and performs by himself alll the time, and sometimes with Tim Reynolds.

  • ya...what he said

i also think that dave didnt do very good in this version...but still amazing

  • hes done a couple with the allman bros. too

  • he usually does farm aids solo or with tim reynolds

  • they did kind of break up and dave and boyd tinsley made solo cd's in 2003 so i would guess that is what this is from

  • Not true. They never broke up. Dave Matthews has been contracted to do two solo albums with RCA. He was fufilling a contract obligation.

I think Boyd just wanted to do something. None of them have broken up and they are still together today.

  • @bobthebuilder892001 they did... dave said it himself that the band reached a point where they couldnt stand each other and there was pressure on him as front man to keep everyone together and lead them but he couldnt at the time

  • NO he said they almost did. He wrote a letter to them all about breaking up but the didn't actually break up. The whole band did an interview. Their response to the letter was "he lost his mind". They worked it out.

  • did you mean to put a "not" in your first question? Dave does solo stuff all the time. And with Tim Reynolds. Hes still with his band.

  • the best from the best....

  • Wow, this one's really sweet, even without good old Timmie Reynolds...So freakin glad to have discovered this song - reminds me of my friends everytime I hear it, and how damn lucky I am to have them around. Love to ya all :)

  • Nice... just a nice song... simple, perfect.

    I like Dave's solo stuff.
