That's awesome man.... I remember seeing this truck at Castlereigh Drag strip in Sydney's western suburbs, near the blue mountains, in mid 70's.... I'm sure it did the 1/4 mile in 10's or less back then. I got a Bandag Bullet jacket, because my mum n dad worked at "Prospect Hotel" on "The Great Western Highway", and the fella's that owned it/worked on it, drank there, so that's how I got to own a Bandag Bullet Jacket. I'm sure mum still has it at home somewhere.

The Shockwave is an "unconventionally" powered truck. It's world record is separate from the more "conventionally" powered diesel Bandag Bullet. The two don't really compare and thus, they get their own categories in the Guiness Book of World Records.

Look up fastest vehicles as well. There are separate categories for the jet powered and the piston-engine-powered. Jet powered landspeed record is 750mph+ I think the piston-powered is around 400mph. And again, there's the diesel category.

The fastest truck is Les Shockley's SHOCKWAVE. The truck's best performance has been 376 mph on a two-mile runway, as recorded in the Guinness Book of Records.

@HelimanZ06 I was only going off what was on his website. He built that truck to be the quickest in the world. Look up bandag bullet on google and you should find his site.

@HelimanZ06 Shockwave has jet engines this has two diesel engines. the shockwave has 3 engines producing 36.000 hp and 19,000 pounds of static thrust. the bandag bullet has 2 engines with diesel producing 2.200 hp and 2.800 hp with nitrous oxide.

@dodgeman789 Hopefully you know that Shockwave will run on Diesel fuel just as easily as Jet A so Shockwave would qualify as "the fastest diesel power truck" as well.

@manafao depends on how your measuring it. IT IS the fastest truck (elapsed time)that is wheel driven and internal combustion engine over a measured distance.
