  • Look at George H in the back, it went downhill after he took over, and his Son... He should have pulled out when he did Barbara........

  • This man is the only great president of our life time.Clinton was an ok president but but a poor excuse for a human being.Carter was a good man ,but a lousy president. The Bushes are just plain old evil and so is Obama.

  • @Darthsinstar i agree to you on that Reagan was the best i do not care what people say.

  • Reagan number one !!!!

  • the first person I ever voted for was Renaldus Magnus!

  • Ah the good old days of the 80s, when a Democrat Speaker could and would introduced a Republican President, with sincerity and respect. Not like today with so much bipartisanship

  • i wish we had someone like this back in office

  • @firehotemily i agree. he was such a great person.. its sad how we have the scum of the earth as president right now...

  • @firehotemily : Keep wishing. It multiplies the power exponentially with each person who agrees with us. It's been a long, painful twenty-two years. Go to sleep wishing it, and wake up wishing it. Act as though it is already here and with us.

  • this is almost same stuff that was read on congress hearing.

  • Actually, he has a really good voice.

  • yep, back in the day, when everything was right with America!!!!!!

  • November 21, 1985

  • What was the date of this speech? Thank You.

  • If Reagan were president today, how do you think he would have handled September 11, 2001? Thank You.

  • As Reagan said "''I warned that there should be no place on earth where terrorists can rest and train and practice their deadly skills, I meant it. I said that we should act with others, if possible, and alone, if necessary, to insure that terrorists have no sanctuary anywhere. When our citizens are abused or attacked anywhere in the world, we will respond in self-defense, If necessary, we will do it again.''

  • Reagan said in his autobiography that when he entered the House chamber for this 1985 speech he got the biggest, loudest ovation of his presidency in Congress the night he came home from his first summit with Gorbachev.

  • thee reason reagan was good speecher without using a teleprmpter was he was an actor and so actors are trained to read a script and give lines without one when they are in front of a camera so someone like obama can't talk without a teleprompter if he did obama would look bad.

  • I believe that this comment was directed at Preident Carter because President Reagan picked up this country after President Carter. President Bush was not part of this era.

  • Carter Really tried and Tried hard but the job was too big for him..

  • sorry...but carter sucked

  • To those people who called Reagan dimwitted ... all this without a teleprompter.

  • What are you talking about there is a teleprompter, and anyways he is an actor so of course he could remember a simple speech, that doesn't say anything.

  • So do you think that Ronald Regean was a goo President or basd, and if you think he was bad ,who is better?

  • Was "Regean a goo President or basd"..? Lol, You cant simplify something as complicated as a President's legacy in terms of black and white, but overall I'd say he was a fairly poor President. TR, FDR, Truman, JFK, LBJ, Nixon, and Clinton were all better Presidents.

  • did he need a teleprompter? I think not. He genuinly loved his country.

  • And I don't recall Reagan going uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh ... and having to do a teleprompter rollback.

  • My point exactly he was an actor, that knew how to deliver his lines well.

  • On what do you base your opinion? President Reagan was one of the greatest! Why? No, he wasn't just someone with speech ability, though, he was perhaps the greatest on that category, the difference between him and Clinton and Him and Obama, is that Reagan MEANT WHAT HE SAID AND SAID WHAT HE MEANT! Obama and Clinton say things that they think people want to hear! President Reagan, through his philosophy of "peace through strength" won the cold war!

  • I made a bad statement "he was perhaps the greatest"! That is a bad statement! He was certainly the greatest speaker ever to reach the presidency because, besides the clarity and greatness of his statements, he meant what he said! And he did not the stupid BIG EGO that both Clinton and Obama have!

  • Like all the other people who worship Reagan, your argument is weak and superficial. "He meant what he said", "he didnt have an ego,"...wtf? Try to learn something about history and bring an argument based on policies and we can talk more. I have no time for a cult of character myth.

  • First of all, I only worship the True God. The Father of our lord and saviour Jesus Christ. As for policies, I already know that you must be a "heart bleeding liberal." No question we must disagree on the kinds of policies we want implemented in a country. And even liberals agree that Reagan won the cold war. He did what was seen by liberals as "crazy!" But he won.

  • Your hero Reagan actually had the nerve to sign Bibles at the Bel Air Presbyterian Church he went to. No, Im not a "heart bleeding liberal", but you must be a no-brain conservative troll. Reagan didnt win the Cold War dumbass, America won!! It was liberals like Truman and LBJ however that actually fought communism with American blood, Reagan did it with rhetoric. I give him credit for bankrupting them, but they would have collapsed with or without Reagan!! It just happened under his watch.

  • Good morning, mr esb84, "dumbass"?? Yours is a quite nice vocabulary! No, I am not going to result to that kind of language in any kind of debate. "Peace through" strength, remember? Ronald Reagan, made the United States a strong nation! That won the cold war, whether you accept it or not. What is wrong with him signing Bibles? I believe the Bible is The Word and Will of God!

  • Whats wrong with signing the Bible is its blashphemy. Stop trying to tell me about the history of my own country, because I know it far better than you ever will. The Soviet Union's economy was collapsing before Reagan was even president, communism is a terrible system and it was only a matter of time before they went broke. Reagan also ran up of deficit trillions of dollars, and it took Clinton to get us out of the mess Reagan and Bush created, only to have our economy ruined by another Bush.

  • Who is rewriting history? When Reagan was President, unfortunatelly the congress was liberal, and he had to compromise to get some of his programs through. When Bill Clinton came in, with his health care proposal, he scared Americans, Newt Gingrich, with the "Contract with America", won Congress and passed laws who brought sanity to free spending Democrat congress. I give credit to Clinton who signed what Newt accomplished into law.

  • As for the Bible, that is my life, I believe the Bible is the Word of God and I make note and write all over it. Because the Bible is just a book, who makes known the Word of God. Nothing wrong to write on it. As for the US, it is also my country, I have dual citizenship.

  • If calling you a dumbass is too harsh (lol are you still in elementary school?), how about simpleton, because that is exactly what you are. You dont know anything about American politics, other than watching Reagan speeches on youtube and believing everything he says. How can somebody your age be that gullible..? "Peace through strength" lol, as if the United States was weak until we had Reagan. Reagan was an empty suit and puppet of big business, who sold this country to Red China.

  • No, the United States had weakened quite a bit and Jimmy Carter had made the US a laughing matter until Reagan came in with a phylosophy of arming the US and daring the Soviet Union to try to do some stupid thing. Liberals called him crazy when he said "Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!"

  • Yes, I am a simpleton! See, I believe the Bible is the Word and Will of God! If that is simpleton I plead guilty!

  • I'm glad you accept that you are a simpleton for looking up to Reagan, and you dont need to keep proclaiming your Christianity every statement because I am one as well and it doesn't change the fact that you are wrong. If you think America wasn't a stong, great, nation until Reagan then that shows how nutty you really are. We had eight years of Bush, appointed by the conservative supreme court, and 6 years with a GOP Congress and we all know where that got us. Go on worshipping Newt and Ronnie..

  • esb84, I worship God, and God alone! What do you mean by "being a Christian?" So, you are a Christian, hum? So then you are "for marriage between a man and woman!" As a Christian, then, you are against homosexuals in the military, is that correct?

  • And, interesting, if you are a Christian, you are for a Supreme Court that does not make law from the bench, and you seem to be against a "conservative court." And, by the way, you do ignore facts, because, with all the different counts of the votes in Florida, even those that considering counting bad votes, there is not even one report that Gore ever won the vote! You are bias on your views!

  • Ha, I should've known since you cant debate me about politics, you'd resort to questioning my faith. I dont have a strong opinion about homos in military one way or the other, I think dont ask dont tell is fine. It's not really gov'ts business anyway. But funny how people on the right always talk about small gov't and then try to run people's lives and spy on them. As far as the 2000 election, if Bush legitimately won then why'd they stop the recount!? It was an issue of states rights!!!

  • esb84, my beliefs are that when it comes to political choices, it is always a matter of choosing the least damagind individual. My "political views" are based upon my biblical views! So, for me, the Bible is what determines what is right and wrong! If you are Christian, read Romans chapter 1 all the way through and see what God says about homosexuals.

  • OK, if the Bible is not your basis for your "Christianity", what is it then? And no, homosexuals, have no business being in the military. And "don't ask don't tell!" is a joke of policy. A policy that is "politically correct!"

  • When did I say the Bible wasnt my basis for Christianity!!? I dont need you to quote the Bible to me, I have several copies myself, you jerk. It also says in the Bible not to use the Lord's name in vain and bear false witness, in other words dont pretend to that you are Him and try to judge others!! So if your political beliefs are based on the Bible how can you support a party that starts unjustified wars!! Jesus was a man of peace, and you are a fraud for trying to question my faith!!

  • There you go again! (Remember that quote?) "you jerk" ??? Can we keep our conversation in a civilized manner? It is OK to disagree, but let us stay cool! Explain to me how did I pretend to be God? I do claim I study the Bible quite a bit! That is true! And yes, since the Bible is the only source for believing and practice I do quote it!

  • So Jesus Christ is all about peace, hum? How about this quote, it is Jesus Christ sepaking: Luke 12:51,52: "Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division: For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three. "

  • esb84, did you ever read the record where Jesus Christ challenges the moneychangers who were doing business in the temple? He not only yelled at them, but kicked them out of the temple! This thing about "peace" is a liberal thing! Peace within yourself, and peace with God, OK! But peace with everyone is impossible!

  • Neither one of those quotes has anything to do with peace, and furthermore I cant imagine how any believing Christian could say peace is a liberal thing! Luke 6:27 "But I say to you that hear, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you." On that note I'm very tired of talking to you so please dont respond, go on and believe whatever you want and I'll follow the word of God, which is reflected in my political beliefs not yours.

  • @FanDaElis

    What anout GOD?

Could he be more important then the bible?

What if HE/SHE/IT disagrees with the bible?

Would you stick to God or the bible?

    Think about that.

  • Well, schusterlehrling, God is Holy, and God is Spirit, God is HOLY SPIRIT, and you can not see, touch, smell, hear or taste God. He reveals himself through the scriptures, The Bible. John 1:1, says that God is The Word (The Bible).

  • @FanDaElis You say you cannot see him, but yet the bible represents him? That would mean you could see him. So what are you meaning? Contradiction after contradiction. I say you can see his CREATION. The bible is not written by god. Has many authos, but GOD never wrote a chapter in it. So plz don't claim that. They all were humans that authored the bible. ALL
  • schusterlehrlilng, the natural man does not understand spiritual things (II Corinthians 2:14). As for how we got the Bible, in II Timotthy 3:16 says "All scriptures is given by inspiration of God (theopneustos - breathed of God) ... " In II Peter 1:20,21 it says the scriptures did not come "by the will of men." Men wrote what God gave them to write. It is the Word of God!

  • Ispiration of God tells we you are wrong and close to blasphemy.

God does not need to write to a book.

The next thing is you tell me that Chist is born again and that you are a/the new born Christ.

Seems like many Americans lost contact to God and instead chose heredity.

  • Romans 1:27,28: "27And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

    And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

  • So, esb84, the Bible says those who allow themselves into homosexuality, have a "reprobate mind." That is what it says. I am simpleton to believe that! :-) :-)

  • @FanDaElis

    Is this clip about Homosexuality?

So what the hell are u pointing at?

    Scratch my head

  • YOu are getting in the middle of discussion with esb84, he does not seem to have an understanding of the scriptures regarding homosexuality, this topic came about due to a debate that went into what makes true Christianity.

  • President Reagan gave this great country its respect back after President Carter made us hang our heads in shame for being great.

  • absolutely. Carter was shocking to look at and even more shocking to listen to.

  • Carter wasnt a great president surely but at least he will never be regarded as bad as Bush who is regarded by most people AND historians as the worst president ever...Carter is respected now he won a nobel prize Bush cant go out cuz protests will follow everywhere to repudiate him...the world loves Carter,Clinton and Obama ....and they hate the Bushes

  • Everytime I see this man I think of peace and prosperity and love of country!!

  • 2:15!!!!!!

  • It might be best if a majority of the nation loves liberty. The single failing of this passing generation is to be so enamored with Reagan that they believed he was the movement for freedom.

Thus, when his admin ended and Bush didn't carry on the legacy, the movement died.

In large part this was the mistake we are faced with now.

Freedom is not the face of a person or a group. The number of men working to recover, expand and sustain it is too large.

We must push for liberty from all fronts.

  • The current president elect would not be able to debate or put himself over this machine. A man who was one of the last great American patriots. I pray this machine will have resurgence in the next 8 years. Where are you?

  • we weed other Reagan

  • The majority of America loved Reagan.

  • ...the majority of the world....you mean...

  • @ThunderAppeal There's an understatement.....almost everyone loved him.....very few hated him.

  • @MattRyanHorn Indeed, it was a time when American starry eyed positive outlook on the future hinged on how much a potential Commander in Chief would make sure to capitalize on Americas strengths. Whereas today the idiot elect makes sure to run around the world apologizing for them.

  • @ThunderAppeal

no, everbody but the reds loved him

  • That man had a deep love of this nation that we have not seen in the white house since he was last there and for far too long before his arrival

  • Indeed! How the Great Man is missed!

    Best wishes from Brazil

  • Ronald Reagan is the great communicator.

  • @Worrier316 Fact

  • god bless our president ronald regan the greatest president of the united state of america

  • C´mon One of the Greatests. Washigton, Jefferson, Jackson, Monroe, Lincoln, Teddy and FDR.

  • great speech
