I know most of us have little experience in the oath taking department, but am I the only one who found the rehearshed, artificial tone in some of them to be rather ironic?
I liked those which were clearly recited from memory and spoken naturally far more than those who were reading it and acting out the severity of the task.
I think any person who means the oath- and who understands it to the root- would necessarily have to treat it with a little solemnity.
That said, I do think some variety comes out in a sense of life way- some say it slowly like their wedding vows, some say it quickly and defiantly like Wynand signing an editorial. Some are shy, some are stiff. But the important thing is that they all do thier videos for the right reasons and for thier own sakes.
It's a pleasure to be able to critique a video of yours - a rare cultural gem - and be greeted with an intelligent, thoughtful response. Dealing with a mind who knows that everything is open to reason is refreshing.
XCowboy2, the other woman to post a John Galt Oath video for you has the username "nicolemasian". If you run a search on YouTube for "nicolemasian," you'll find her Oath. :-)
In the beginning I thought, "What did that guy say at the start? 'Here we go'?" And then I realized, "Oh, wait a minute, that was ME talking!" Lol. My voice sounds weird. The way it sounds to other people doesn't sound anything like how it sounds to me as I hear myself speak.
Who is SorrowisforChildren? What a sweet voice!

I realized that late- sent her a note to attach her oath to the challenge so I don't miss it next time.
