oh the memories. I had a Dreamcast as a kid and spent some of the time I should have been spending as a healthy, socially well-adjusted boy playing Skies of Arcadia. Now that I don't have time to play video games so much anymore because of ADULT RESPONSIBILITIES I'm happy to be able to relive some of those memories here. Thanks!

I would love to get the dreamcast version again but their isn't much differences between the 2 versions, Except a few tweaks in the subtitles.

I only have 3 cons

1. Cheesy characters, voice snippets, and everytime someone goes "WHAT?!?!?" when what's happening is always obvious

2. LONGGGG ASSSSS GGAAAAMMMMEEEE

3. I have Legends, so this music is messed up, and the graphics aren't that better even though they could have been

@ObsidianAurion yeah, I agree. I don't know why the Gamecube version sounds distorted. The Dreamcast's Yamaha soundchip can't be that hard to emulate.

@tiga2001 the reason is that while the dreamcast was on 2 disks, the GC was on 1, so to put everything on 1 disk they had to degrade the music. That's why the dreamcast's music is MUCH better than the GC version

The GC version has stronger censorship of mature content. All traces of cigarettes are removed, shops serve Loqua juice instead of alcohol, and one female character's attire is altered to be less revealing.

The GC does have some extra content but overall id say the Dreamcast version is the best especially if you use the VGA box, it outputs Dreamcast games in HD resolutions

GC is unable to make use of the Dreamcast external hardware such as the rumble pack and VMU to let players know when many treasures or events were near. For example in the Dreamcast version the Sega VMU would start to beep when there was a Cham in the area Cupil would also appear on the VMU screen to guide players to the Cham's exact location. Since the GC has no VMU, Cupil would start making a "Pyu" sound and appear in the corner of the screen as an icon when the player was on top of a Cham

And theres this creature where if you feed it moonfish wich are invisable and can only be seen through this eyepatch that vyse gets he can catch them and make the creature grow and it belongs to a girl called maria who has a back story. (If your that curious play the game yourself, because this comment will be 10 pages long)

ive played through the gc version and loved it. just never played the original version. ive heard the original has a side quest with pinta you cant do in the gc version. and if i remember correctly the moon fish go to cupil, who belongs to fina.
