El aceite y la grasa que usan los restaurantes es GRATIS (FREE) muchos restaurantes incluso te pagan para q te lo lleves, yo lo digo por que soy productor de Biodiesel y asi lo consigo yo, para contribuir al medio ambiente............

How can someone say that the price of methanol being over a 1$/gallon makes the bio diesel more than a $1/gallon? In the video he says 40 gallons of oil and 8 gallons of methanol. By my math, the cost of the methanol in the 48 gallon batch is 16 cents per gallon. There is very little lye used, and the electricity is expense is very small.

The cost is still very low. Even if you double the material cost above.

Fuel is cheaper now than ever don't pay attention to numbers they mean nothing . when fuel was $.50 gallon people only made $2/hour. now fuel cost $2.70 but you make $14/hour. it's all a head trip. we have it better now than ever.

Not everyone's cost will be under a dollar. Find out what your cost will be.

Assuming you have a supply of used oil, locate a methanol source. Right now I get methanol for $1 per gallon. That alone is more than the "under a dollar" statement most make. You still have to add the catalyst cost and electricity.

You can also visit the biodiesel forums and see what others are buying methanol at. If you buy 500 or more gallons then you might find it less than a dollar per gallon.

That system from biodiesel solutions is like $3000. Simple setup and the most common BUT you can build it for about $400. Tanks to my door where $300, pump at Harbor Freight is $40 and the plumbing can be picked up at Home Depot. I made about 1500 gallons in my little processor and now we duplciated/biggie sized it to a 275 gallon batch version.

F@#$ ethanol, biodiesel is the way to go and it would help everyone even if you don't drive a diesel!
