you know i know you know we know eminem knows he can do anything he wants....... when he raps he wins when he drives a car he makes me make you make every one make eminem the moust popular best awsome epic raper in the galaxy!!!!!! thumbs up
gives me shivers and I am European. Some American cities have corners, sides, that are so utilitarian, so "ugly" that they become beautiful. I think this video really captures what hard real work is about. smoke and steel and fists and rage and toughness. I admire it and I hope a new era for Chrysler is ushering in and it's happening also thanks to Italian design. It's a beautiful video. And whether a BMW or a Toyota is a better car than a 200, I don't give a ...because I chose not to blend
I am from the East Side of Detroit, lived there all my life. I knew this commercial would set off stereotypical Detroit haters and overprotective Detroit lover, and I'll admit it, you could call me the latter, but after seeing the ad for the 200 with Eminem, I wasn't sure if I was gonna laugh or cry
just to translate the speakers words to simple english "we may make rubbish cars and we may not understand the word luxury, but we are from detroit."
And to be honest, have anything good ever come out of that city except Eminem? München, Ingolstadt, Coventry etc, that's the real motoring cities of the world
@DrVictim : You are a moron. Obviously, you're not from Detroit, you've never been to Detroit and you don't know squat about Detroit so, how about you keep your worthless opinion to yourlself. You're part of the problem in this country and NOT the solution. Jackass.....................
@imasinger58 Then answer me, have there ever been a good car coming from Detroit the last 30years that could compete with any European brand?
By the way your a moron yourself too in according to your logic, because I guess you've never been to either Ingolstadt nor Stuttgart? Two cities who've set the standards for today's cars. What have Detroit done? lowered the standards of American cars? (if it's not already at the bottom)
@DrVictim You have totally missed the point. I have been to Stuttgart, Japan and England. Have you ever lived in Detroit or been part of the American Automotive industry? Have you worked in a steel mill, a rubber factory, or any other industry that has helped to create a car? No? Obviously, just another armchair pundit who is all opinion and no expertise.
@DrVictim Detroit is about more than cars. It is our gov't who had ruined the industry - not the city. Do you know what NAFTA is. Would you work for $.25 cents an hour?
America will never export or compete with car companies that actually know how to make cars until they start adding some DOHC into their V8's and then put those engines into luxurious cars like this one.
Chrysler takes that low rated piece of garbage commonly known as Sebring, puts a 200 label on it and wants us all to believe that it's something totally different. How stupid does Chrysler think we are?
Not in the Pacific Theater and not in Europe by the time of D-Day. America began the war as a mosquito and ended it as one of the world's two Super Powers; the one that went on to rebuild the mess Europe had made of itself through the Marshall Plan.
@bigbad1000do7a He's actually a talented poet. in this song he uses a technique called internal rhyming, meaning all the words rhyme with other words in the song one way or another, bet you didn't know that. He's very good at what he does and the last time I checked nobody here has sold a million albums much less the 80+ million he has sold.
I love the way some of the comments here ramble on about socialism, and anything else that does not come close to the disappearance of the American Auto Industry.
And it's funny . . . . . . because if you look in most of their driveways or garages, you will find a Honda, Toyota, KIA, Lexus, Infinity, Nissan or any other foreign auto.
But . . . Oh Yeah! . . . they are "built in America"!
This always seems to sooth that guilt feeling that sometimes pops up.
@happystance6able im guessing you have a rice truck. And assembeled in america, the parts aren't built in america. Plus the profits go back to Japland dipshit
Toyota dominated Cars.com's 2009 American-Made Index Top-Ten. The Toyota Camry came in 1st place (made in GeorgetownKY and LafayetteIN). 4 other Toyotas also appeared on the list; the Sienna (Princeton IN), the Tundra, and Venza (GeorgetownKY). There wasn't a single Chrysler on that list and, now, 25% of its profits will go to Italy. It's more American to buy a Toyota.
@FGalaxie >>Italians are Europeans like Americans are<<
...huh? Our nation was founded explicitly as a rejection of the European top-down, authoritarian approach to governing. You're a racist moron. No wonder you support this Democrat Party policy--you belong with all the other racist Democrats like WV KKK-founder Robert Byrd. I, myself, am more in line with the Party of Abraham Lincoln; the Republican Party.
@FGalaxie >>if you still had the British parliamentary system<<
We'd be pulling our own teeth like those idiots do in the UK. Over 45% of UK dentists are no longer accepting NIH patients so Brits are resorting to do-it-yourself dentistry. Great! Brilliant! Innovative!
@FGalaxie Oh yea? And what's wrong with my German car? Does that make my soulless too because it's not a rusted piece of classic junk? Also maybe Americans should stop overpopulating the low IQ'ed and put emphasis on a higher education, our country has long moved out of the industrial era economy.
@FGalaxie What superior people you Nazi? If you want to talk about intellectual superiority then Jews and Asians far exceed Italians. All your "superior" Italians here in Chicago are vendors, cab drivers, and run cheap fast food pizza joints; not to mention that there's practically none at high ranking universities. Get real and learn to be patriotic by things you accomplish. For the record I'm half Greek and half Italian and I drive a 2008 G-Glass which was made in Austria/Bavaria not some Fiat
@SirGeorge8600 If i was a nazi i would be a Republican wouldnt I? they are the closest thing to it.
Fiat owns 2 of the most prestigous marques in Automotive history, Ferrari and Maserati, not to mention Alfa Romeo. Whilst Mercedes used jewish concentration camp inmates s slave labour in ww2. Real class there, but still better than Jap Crap.
Yes ok, no Italian Americans go to university, ffs, you couldnt make this up.
@FGalaxie Right, but when you drive a fiat are you driving a Ferrari? Volkswagen owns Porsche, yet the beetle is nothing compared to it. I am a naturalist. if you're a liberal as you insist then you'd treat people equally, wouldn't be a racist, and believe in free-will. There are Italians and Greeks who go to university, but they simply don't compare to most Jews and Asians who dominate the Ivy Leagues. Also what does the G8 have to do with Americans? You're not a factor to the Italian economy.
@FGalaxie Also yes, I am a Greek-Italian hybrid, and there are many of the sort believe it or not. However I am white since by ancestors come from north greece and north italy as opposed to the south.
@FGalaxie I guess, the southern seem darker though, maybe it's the sun. Or the rumors of the south mixing with arabs and turks. Yes, my father is from Aosta Valley and my mom from Thessaloniki. At one point in time these areas were dominated by Slavs and French, so I could have some of that blood in my too.
@FGalaxie >>If i was a nazi I would be a Republican wouldnt I? they are the closest thing<<
....uh, no. The Nazis were the National Socialist party of Germany and the first things they did were nationalize health care and disarm the public on the basis that the "smart people" were in charge now, so there was no longer a need for individual rights. That would make the Nazis more like the Democrat party. They're all COLLECTIVISTS.
@SirGeorge8600 >>All your "superior" Italians...are vendors, cab drivers, and run cheap fast food pizza joints<<
You're overlooking what they really excel at; crime. They're great organizers in that area. There's a lot to be proud of there! It's a form of Community Organizing.
@happystance6able I don't hate Italians, I am half Italian. I'm just sick and tired of seeing some nationalists (in this case Greeks and Italians) brag about how superior they are simply because of a historical past. Also that crime stereotype comes from the SOUTHERN Italians, please don't mix the two. Of course it's once country, but when you look at Italian crime statistics it's clearly a Southern problem almost purely. The north has one criminal: Berlusconi.
@SirGeorge8600 >>I'm just sick and tired of seeing some nationalists...brag about how superior they are simply becuase of a historical past [...] that crime stereotype comes from the SOUTHERN Italians<<
@stormercody >>Nazi scientist were the most advanced in WW2<<
Nope. Einstein wasn't a Nazi and he was easily the single most advanced scientist in WW2. There's absolutely no question about that. The Nazis were very advanced as engineers--death camps, etc--but not exceptionally so as scientists. On the eve of World War II, Albert Einstein helped alert FDR that Germany might be developing an atomic weapon, and recommended that the U.S. begin similar research. We know how that all ended...
@happystance6able well i guess you can put einstein as the smartest scientist but if he wasn't jewish, he would have been helping the Germans. Also germans had the superior weapons back then
@stormercody >>if he wasn't jewish, he would have been helping the Germans<<
Right. The Germans kicked the smartest scientists out of their country. The smartest scientists went to work building the atomic bomb and finished before the dumber scientists in Germany got there, even though the German scientists had a head start. Therefore, America had the smartest scientists.
@happystance6able But the thing is, Germany was headed for defeat no matter what. If they would have had the bomb ready to go, the Allies would most likely be there to stop it. But anyway, its ironic but the Atom Bomb saved a lot of lives. The U.S. only had two plans for Japan. Drop an atom bomb, save millions of U.S. lives. Invade, lose lots of lives.
@SirGeorge8600 idk what that means, im guessing you thinks it isn't true. I meant they had superior weapons, such as the V rockets, Stg-44, the MG-38/Mg-42, etc. And all the secret weapons, if they would have been perfected, could have ended the war a whole different way. Plus they had great designs but didn't have enough supplies to build. The one weapon they made, the 800mm railgun, was awesome!
@stormercody oh yes, you meant that. Germans had the best technology without doubt. My favorite were the tanks. The TIGER tanks were unstoppable, allied tanks would retreat when those were seen. Shermans would keep pounding that thing while a Tiger could take out a sherman with one hit. Other nice tanks were the Panthers, especially when they traveled in tactical battle-groups. The STG-44 was nice too, but I liked the FG42 better. STG-44 was also made into a scoped version.
@SirGeorge8600 No argument from me on the infantry side, though. Those Panzers and Tigers kicked Sherman ass. We were totally out-gunned there. But you don't get very far with a strong infantry if you can't keep it supplied and that's why our superior air power with the P-51s and our awesome bombers won the war; defending our supply lines and attacking theirs Of course it was all dependent on the huge bite out of the enemy the Stalinist Bear took. Without that, we'd probably have nuked Germany.
...and I must add that the huge bite Stalin took out of Hitler was done with the T-34, which even the Germans readily acknowledged was the best-engineered tank of WWII. It made the Nazis do a double-take and start up-gunning their Panzers and come up with the Panther.
@stormercody >>they had superior weapons...V rockets, Stg-44, MG-38/Mg-42<<
Nah, America had the superior engineers too. Our guys designed and built the P-51 in 117 days. That plane alone sealed the Nazi's fate. It allowed us to get the most out of our superior bombers, which were in dire need of cover. Once we put the P-51 in service, that was it for the Germans. Without that plane, we really could have lost the war, though. I'd give you that.
@FGalaxie America didn't invent the automobile, but Obama thinks it did.
watch?v=zU9wTnif40M
What kind of fucking idiot would vote for somebody like that? That fucking moron had a million-dollar education handed to him and look what he has to show for it! THAT'S a Democrat for ya! Democrats are fucking idiots. FACT
You don't have to tell me that, idiot. Go tell Obama that America invented the assembly line; not the automobile. What a bunch of idiots...Democrats....
@FGalaxie >>Most Americans...couldn't find their ass on a map<<
Yep. The American people have gotten really stupid since the Leftists took over our education system. It's the kind of stupidity that produces a Barack Obama Presidency. You get no argument from me there. We were smartest and strongest back in the days before our families were destroyed by the welfare/entitlement mentality and our schools were controlled by the Department of Education. Stupidity spreads fast from above.
@SirGeorge8600 >>Americans should stop overpopulating the low IQ'ed and put empahsis on a higher education<<
Actually, there is too much education in America. Look at all the "party schools". That is the clearest example one could ever hope to see, indicating that the price for education in America is too low, such that more is being consumed than is necessary.
@SirGeorge8600 >>our country has long moved out of the industrial era economy<<
What can America do? Their liberal Democrats are incessantly bitching that manufacturing jobs are leaving the country. They fight continuously to drag America back into an industrial era economy.
@stormercody >>the profits go back to Japland dipshit<<
All those American auto workers building Toyotas and the dealers who make money hand-over-fist selling them; all those Americans are profiting quite nicely before the residuals ever make their way back to the masterminds who created something people actually want to buy; unlike a Chrysler.
@happystance6able Thats caused people are retarded and buy cheaply made cars that have break problems and countless other things wrong with them. Hope your riceburner gets over 45 miles a cup
@stormercody >>Thats caused people are retarded and buy cheaply made cars that have break problems and countless other things wrong with them<<
"October 20, 2010 (Reuters) - Chrysler Group LLC is recalling 26,397 vehicles, saying a malfunction with the power steering pressure hose may cause steering fluid to leak over a hot engine and cause a fire."
GM and Chrysler have had countless recalls as well. Your corrupt media invented a problem that was eventually traced to driver error, idiot.
@happystance6able CHEAP PRICES OVER QUALITY! thats what Toyota stands for. And i don't know if you heard, there is an unintended acceleration problems in about 4 million of them. Then there was the brake problem. Theres way more problems with toyota then Chrysler, Ford, and GM. If your so Non-American, why are you still here. Are you some miserable fuck that has to make fun of American Cars because you can't afford one?
The people who buy Toyotas, drive Toyotas and give them positive reviews disagree with your assertion. If they sucked, they wouldn't be buying them in the hordes. They think that buying American is throwing away your money unless you're buying an expensive specialty item like a Ford GT or a Corvette, where money is no option. But even then, there are better European alternatives in the same price range....
...were linked to driver error, not Toyota's error. Your trusted media must have swept that under the rug for you so you'd still promote ObamaMotors like the good, useful idiot for the Left that you are.
@happystance6able Obama is gay and black so go fuck yourself, plus there were many accounts that claimed that the throttle stuck. Don't here that everyday so i don't think its driver error
@happystance6able aww someone doesn't have a comeback. Mass driver errors, around the SAME TIME!! that sounds very believable. So go fucking use your damn vagisil, transvestite
@stormercody >>Mass driver errors, around the SAME TIME<<
No, mass lawsuits around the same time as a stupid Leftist media frenzy geared toward attacking ObamaMotors's biggest competitor. Fucking idiots--especially women--stomp the accelerator instead of the brakes all the time. My own sister did it in an '85 chevy back in the '90s. She got out of the car swearing that the brakes didn't work. Still remember my dad rolling his eyeballs over her reaction. Had there been a frenzy, she'd have sued.
Amateurs only see "big ideas" while almost all consequential ideas are small; incremental improvements that make or break a company. Toyota boasts one the longest established and most effective idea management systems around which in fact makes it probably the world's most innovative car maker. Its innovations are generally small and about improving efficiency of their just-in-time logistics which reduce storage costs, but the results have been VERY BIG!
@FGalaxie Henry Ford came to dominate the market by taking what others had invented and building it more efficiently. Toyota came to dominate the market by doing the same thing.
@happystance6able Not true, henry ford had worked at other car companies before starting Ford.
Plus Ford has a long and proud history of innovation and actually inventing things, many classic cars.
Toyota - no innovation, 1 classic car, designed by a German, and powered by a Yamaha engine. efficient? they are the most over rated heaps of crap without a soul style or substance, appeal to the most boring of people.
What sort of Yank are you? spare us the extreme right wing economic theory.
Plenty to feed a stupid Leftist media frenzy geared toward attacking ObamaMotors's biggest competitor. You have no idea just how desperate people are to be seen as a victim instead of a moron when they do something stupid like that. Just give them a way out and they'll take it every time. It happens often with elderly drivers too. There are lots of stories of senile old people driving into people, thinking their feet were on the brakes.
...who can't afford to throw his money away to pay for shit like the GM Jobs Bank in addition to paying for what it really costs to produce a car? Yep. That's me.
@happystance6able Its fucking people like you, that think there fucking piece of shit cars are better than the ones built were we live. Are you a non-patriot, did you want the Japs to win wwII. Emphasized this a lot but still, you are the most non supportive american i have ever seen. "SHIT", really, thats why the American Trucks have fucking more horsepower, more torque, more towing, and more quality. Don't even say they have more problems than toyota cause they fucking dont you pathetic cunt
@stormercody >>"SHIT", really, thats why the American Trucks have fucking more horsepower, more torque, more toweing, and more quality<<
...and sell better, like the F150. The market decides what's shit and what isn't. Some American trucks are great. By the way, Ford isn't owned by the federal government. Kinda unfair, isn't it? I'm a Ford fan still.
Every Automobile making nation has helped its car industry.
Wish the Right wingers would shut up about it.
For every Auto job there are 8 or 9 connected jobs. If all these jobs were lost in America here would be blood in the streets, then pampered wasp right wingers would be calling for the national giard to protect them.
@FGalaxie But that is always thier screed isn't it? Call out the guard....in the old days, it was free enterprise: call out the Pinkerton police to crack some heads. Unionism is great for Poland when it threw out the Communists, but bad here (?) The private wealthy will take care of things, like they did when Bank of America and Chase and the rest so skillfully managed the financial system in 2008 (has everyone forgotten it was under Bush the bailouts occured?) Yes, leave it to the banks!
@wolffhd >>the main blame...allowing Japan, Korea, and the rest to build their factories here<<
But we are net beneficiaries of the whole concept of outsourcing. Tthat is, if we were to eliminate outsourcing, the United States would be worse off as a result of it, because there are more jobs insourced to the United States than are outsourced from the United States. Many companies from Europe and Japan have set up companies in the United States, producing a net benefit to us.
To complain about outsourcing is to subscribe to a make-work fallacy, where it's believed that labor's better used than conserved. Loss of jobs is seen only as bad. However, while technology and outsourcing throw some out of work, it also frees up labor to produce other things. In 1800 it took 95 of every 100 Americans, working on farms, to feed the nation. In 1900 it took 40. Today it takes only 3. Workers not needed to farm became available to produce homes, cars, and thousands of other goods.
@wolffhd i have nothing against ford or harley, infact their great but when i see someone that likes Ford i ask what motorcycle and they always say Harley.
This AMAZING commercial shows you all the incredible things the unemployed people of Detroit do regularly as they await their next unemployment check from the socialists. They skate! They jog! They even get together and sing in empty theaters! It's TOTALLY AMAZING AND VERY AMERICAN! AWESOME! Of course, the theater's empty--no paying audience members--'cause everybody's unemployed and out for themselves; expecting their next government handout just like Chrysler is.
@happystance8able Its actually every americans fault that are car dealerships are like this. People out there that keep buying rice burners instead of american. Now shutup and buy american
@stormercody >>its...every americans fault that are car dealerships are like this<<
Our car dealerships are doing fine--at least the ones selling quality cars at a competitive price. It's your own damned fault and responsibility if nobody wants to buy what you're selling.
There's ironic symbolism in this. When the socialists move into a theater that the capitalists have built (when socialist Chrysler is in the Fox) the seats become vacant and you end up with singers paid tax dollars to perform for nobody. This is what socialists do: create societal dysfunction while indulging in stupid ego trips.
The Fox is one of the very last monuments to the principles that made Detroit strong; those of private entrepreneurship. Its success is entirely the result of massive renovation recently done, not by socialists, but by the billionaire Ilitches who began making their billions in 1959--before socialism overtook the city--by founding Little Caesars. Socialism destroyed Detroit. Chrysler is socialist.
Chrysler and Government Motors aren't American anymore. Chrysler is 25% Italian (Fiat) and 11.5% of it is owned by the national governments of the US and Canada, making that latter portion of it european-socialist. When government owns the means of producing automobiles, it's not American; It's socialist. Government Motors, of course, is primarily socialist. If you want to buy American, your only option left is to buy Ford. It's only patriotic to boycott Chrysler and Government Motors.
@zambrano718 if u read it correctly i meant people in general you want to start saying crap next Superbowl get 6 million dollars which is the cost of this commercial and make ur commercial u think its so easy and if u were a true american you would know that when gm went bankrupt if affected the u.s. badly so if you don't think that a sacrifice can be made so that we can have a better economy than u can just shut up look at it from the perspective that makes sense instead of saying crap
@misteUCSB america is not the only free country many others are free its ur going off of what u've heard on the news and please who the hell have you seen the future you are not god u are a human just like the rest of us u do not have the ability to do things of that nature and a global government please thats sounds like a terrible idea there would never be a government like that not in a lifetime start waking up u want a global government start spreading it u might get shot for such and idea
this commercial suck get off his dick, its cost 2.5 mill just to air it if i had dat movie id coulda made a way better one nd prob had money to build a community center just saying...
wow what a bunch of bitching little adults 9 million taxpayer dollars please i know more teenagers that have more knowledge and more common sense to know that a corporation like gm and a place like detroit plays a big role in our economy so if we can help other businesses than were helping america every one of us and like they say you have to spend money to earn money and sometimes sacrifices have to be made look at it as a positive instead of a negative and please stop complaining.
like the ad. it gave me chills but sadly its "the all chrysler 200" wich in chrysler terms means "buy our over stocked sebrings with new headligts and rear lights" same body, same chassis, same suspension, same brakes you name it.
Forget about Detroit. Forget about the United States. Think bigger. Start thinking outside the box. One day this country won't be here anymore. One day we won;t have imaginary lines separating us from the rest of the world. We should start thinking as one. We need to start thinking as a whole and as citizens of this planet instead of citizens of the United States. I've seen the future my friends and one day we will have a global government.
@misterUCSB >>We need to start thinking as a whole and as citizens of this planet<<
Then whose laws do we have to follow or go to jail? What about people who disagree with the laws because they have different cultures? Jail them? Where do we run to then when our new World-Country gets taken over by tryants? When our new World-Government gets corrupt? If we really thought as you do, then we need to invade all countries wherever we see injustice allowed. We'd invade US communities for that, no?
There are many for whom a Citizen-of-the-World affectation puts them one-up on those of us who are just grateful to be Americans, and to enjoy a freedom that is all too rare in other countries around the world, even at this late date in human history. Such people think the United States is somehow on trial, and needs to prove itself to others by bending over backwards. But bending over backwards does not win friends. It loses respect, including self-respect.
You're a moron, $9M, it was a loan and paid back with interest. There are a lot of miserable people out there who expend a lot of enrergy hating and being miserable. Get a life!
@creez1 >>it was a loan and paid back with interest<<
No, the federal government owns 9.2% of Chrysler. That's not a loan. It's socialism. The federal government has purchased the means of producing automobiles. All real Americans will boycott Chrysler and GM until the government relinquishes all means of producing automobiles to We the People.
Awesome ad! With the benefit of 9 million taxpayer dollars, Chrysler's telling you "This is what we do." 44% of Detroit adults have reading comprehension below 6th-grade level; meaning nearly half of Detroit adults couldn't graduate from elementary school; about the same literacy rate as that of the Central African Republic after being ruled by a cannibal-emperor throughout the '70s and '80s. That's Detroit run by liberal Democrats cannibalizing the system. This is what they do. Indeed!
This is awesome! A $9 million dollar ad paid for by you, the taxpayer. These guys, by the way are requesting more taxpayer dollars. They want more money and they want a "better deal" on the bailout money they're already getting. The owners of Chrysler are sick of you loan-shark, taxpaying shysters who haven't given them the favorable rates they think they're entitled to.That's "what they do", indeed. LOL The Democrats pols in Detroit are like that too.
Once upon a time, photo-journalists used to document famous landmarks in European cities destroyed by the ravages of war. No bombs had to drop on Detroit. No, all it took was generations of liberal Democrat "leadership". That's what they do INDEED! It's called the "Liberal Bomb". Very destructive. Very powerful. More powerful than any conventional explosive. LOL
Awesome, slick, high-style ad that takes $9 million dollars of taxpayer money to tell us that a ruined city that is attracting the kind of French photo-journalism today that used to be reserved for African Banana Republics after a civil war; we're now being told "This is the model for America in the 21st Century" "This is what we do". Great message! Great ad! Very funny! LOL
@happystance6able Everyone says it cost $9 million dollars to produce. Taxpayer money. Really? Source on that?
Point being, everyone in the country is talking about this advertisment. It was the hit of the game. People remember it. People are impressed with the image, the message and that sells cars. It's called an investment. I learned that in a class called Econ 101, about 47 years ago. Try to catch up. Learn something and stop trying to be a smart ass.
@scrufferdog As a result of past Chrysler decisions taxpayers had no say in, on June 10, 2009, Obama forced taxpayers to finance the sale of most of Chrysler assets to "New Chrysler", formally known as Chrysler Group LLC. $6.6 billion in tax dollars were paid to the "Old Chrysler", a new company called Old Carco LLC set up to take over the remaining assets and liabilities, which remained in Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
@happystance6able geezus we get it. you're smart. now go be smart somewhere else man! people just want to watch this ad, not hear some smartass rant about politics
@happystance8able They make quality cars and trucks, but America buys cheap and fucks up in the end. All asian cars suck and are cheap. Everyone buys them because they get high mpg while Americans are building quality cars and are going to lose jobs if no-one buys them anymore. If you dont have any american car than your part of the problem.
@stormercody >>but America buys cheap...All asian cars suck and are cheap...If you dont have any american car than your part of the problem<<
Don't impose your preferences on others! If American automakers aren't making what people want and need, then they are their own the problem. You sound like you don't know about the GM Jobs Bank. Why the hell should anybody who wants to fork out a load of money for a new car, also have to pay for this shit as well??:
Yeah, blame it on the democrats. I'm waiting for the republicans to set everything in the world right. Lemme know when that happens. That said, if Chrysler could makes cars to the same level of quality as this commercial, they might never have been in dire straights.
@nadsat >>I'm waiting for the republicans to set everything in the world right<<
Nobody can do that, but to hear Democrats speak, you'd think they could. No matter how good things are, a Democrat will always point to something tragic or not good and tell you that's why you have too much freedom; if you'd just give up more freedom, that Democrat would eradicate tragedy from life or eliminate that thing which is wrong. Isn't that what they're always saying? You'd thing they knew everything.
Blame what on the democrats? There's a lot that should be blamed on democrats--especially in Detroit since they've run that city for generations unopposed. The unions are totally democrat-supporting.
Great stuff by Eminem. Maybe he can help build the statue of RoboCop in Detroit, in spite of Mayor Bing's objection. There is a facebook page devoted to this - "Citizens for RoboCop 2012". Our city needs to embrace our industrial gritty nature.
To bad its Chrysler :(

And to be honest, have anything good ever come out of that city except Eminem? München, Ingolstadt, Coventry etc, that's the real motoring cities of the world
DrVictim 8 months ago
@DrVictim : You are a moron. Obviously, you're not from Detroit, you've never been to Detroit and you don't know squat about Detroit so, how about you keep your worthless opinion to yourlself. You're part of the problem in this country and NOT the solution. Jackass.....................
imasinger58 8 months ago
@imasinger58 Then answer me, have there ever been a good car coming from Detroit the last 30years that could compete with any European brand?
By the way your a moron yourself too in according to your logic, because I guess you've never been to either Ingolstadt nor Stuttgart? Two cities who've set the standards for today's cars. What have Detroit done? lowered the standards of American cars? (if it's not already at the bottom)
DrVictim 8 months ago
@DrVictim You have totally missed the point. I have been to Stuttgart, Japan and England. Have you ever lived in Detroit or been part of the American Automotive industry? Have you worked in a steel mill, a rubber factory, or any other industry that has helped to create a car? No? Obviously, just another armchair pundit who is all opinion and no expertise.
imasinger58 8 months ago
@DrVictim Detroit is about more than cars. It is our gov't who had ruined the industry - not the city. Do you know what NAFTA is. Would you work for $.25 cents an hour?
imasinger58 8 months ago
America will never export or compete with car companies that actually know how to make cars until they start adding some DOHC into their V8's and then put those engines into luxurious cars like this one.

Not in the Pacific Theater and not in Europe by the time of D-Day. America began the war as a mosquito and ended it as one of the world's two Super Powers; the one that went on to rebuild the mess Europe had made of itself through the Marshall Plan.

That why Italians do here and Italy is in the G8.

FGalaxie 1 year ago
@FGalaxie Right, but when you drive a fiat are you driving a Ferrari? Volkswagen owns Porsche, yet the beetle is nothing compared to it. I am a naturalist. if you're a liberal as you insist then you'd treat people equally, wouldn't be a racist, and believe in free-will. There are Italians and Greeks who go to university, but they simply don't compare to most Jews and Asians who dominate the Ivy Leagues. Also what does the G8 have to do with Americans? You're not a factor to the Italian economy.

That would make the Nazis more like the Democrat party. They're all COLLECTIVISTS.

@SirGeorge8600 Nazi scientist were the most advanced in WW2
stormercody 11 months ago
@stormercody >>Nazi scientist were the most advanced in WW2<<
Nope. Einstein wasn't a Nazi and he was easily the single most advanced scientist in WW2. There's absolutely no question about that. The Nazis were very advanced as engineers--death camps, etc--but not exceptionally so as scientists. On the eve of World War II, Albert Einstein helped alert FDR that Germany might be developing an atomic weapon, and recommended that the U.S. begin similar research. We know how that all ended...
happystance6able 11 months ago
@happystance6able well i guess you can put einstein as the smartest scientist but if he wasn't jewish, he would have been helping the Germans. Also germans had the superior weapons back then
stormercody 11 months ago
@stormercody >>if he wasn't jewish, he would have been helping the Germans<<
Right. The Germans kicked the smartest scientists out of their country. The smartest scientists went to work building the atomic bomb and finished before the dumber scientists in Germany got there, even though the German scientists had a head start. Therefore, America had the smartest scientists.
happystance6able 11 months ago
@happystance6able But the thing is, Germany was headed for defeat no matter what. If they would have had the bomb ready to go, the Allies would most likely be there to stop it. But anyway, its ironic but the Atom Bomb saved a lot of lives. The U.S. only had two plans for Japan. Drop an atom bomb, save millions of U.S. lives. Invade, lose lots of lives.
stormercody 11 months ago
@stormercody @_@
SirGeorge8600 11 months ago
@SirGeorge8600 idk what that means, im guessing you thinks it isn't true. I meant they had superior weapons, such as the V rockets, Stg-44, the MG-38/Mg-42, etc. And all the secret weapons, if they would have been perfected, could have ended the war a whole different way. Plus they had great designs but didn't have enough supplies to build. The one weapon they made, the 800mm railgun, was awesome!
stormercody 11 months ago
@stormercody oh yes, you meant that. Germans had the best technology without doubt. My favorite were the tanks. The TIGER tanks were unstoppable, allied tanks would retreat when those were seen. Shermans would keep pounding that thing while a Tiger could take out a sherman with one hit. Other nice tanks were the Panthers, especially when they traveled in tactical battle-groups. The STG-44 was nice too, but I liked the FG42 better. STG-44 was also made into a scoped version.
SirGeorge8600 11 months ago
@SirGeorge8600 No argument from me on the infantry side, though. Those Panzers and Tigers kicked Sherman ass. We were totally out-gunned there. But you don't get very far with a strong infantry if you can't keep it supplied and that's why our superior air power with the P-51s and our awesome bombers won the war; defending our supply lines and attacking theirs Of course it was all dependent on the huge bite out of the enemy the Stalinist Bear took. Without that, we'd probably have nuked Germany.
happystance6able 11 months ago
...and I must add that the huge bite Stalin took out of Hitler was done with the T-34, which even the Germans readily acknowledged was the best-engineered tank of WWII. It made the Nazis do a double-take and start up-gunning their Panzers and come up with the Panther.
happystance6able 11 months ago 2
@stormercody >>they had superior weapons...V rockets, Stg-44, MG-38/Mg-42<<

The demise of Detroit and the American Auto Industry is the result of imports it is true.
However, the main blame can be directed solely at the US Government.
Allowing Japan, Korea, and the rest to build their factories here, thus omitting import tariffs, flooded the US with foreign autos.
I will never drive foreign. My choice is still Ford & Harley

But we are net beneficiaries of the whole concept of outsourcing. Tthat is, if we were to eliminate outsourcing, the United States would be worse off as a result of it, because there are more jobs insourced to the United States than are outsourced from the United States. Many companies from Europe and Japan have set up companies in the United States, producing a net benefit to us.
happystance6able 1 year ago
To complain about outsourcing is to subscribe to a make-work fallacy, where it's believed that labor's better used than conserved. Loss of jobs is seen only as bad. However, while technology and outsourcing throw some out of work, it also frees up labor to produce other things. In 1800 it took 95 of every 100 Americans, working on farms, to feed the nation. In 1900 it took 40. Today it takes only 3. Workers not needed to farm became available to produce homes, cars, and thousands of other goods.

There's ironic symbolism in this. This is what socialists do: create societal dysfunction while indulging in stupid ego trips.
happystance8able 1 year ago
@happystance8able but yet that symbolism is completely coincidental, not on purpose.

@zambrano718 if u read it correctly i meant people in general you want to start saying crap next Superbowl get 6 million dollars which is the cost of this commercial and make ur commercial u think its so easy and if u were a true american you would know that when gm went bankrupt if affected the u.s. badly so if you don't think that a sacrifice can be made so that we can have a better economy than u can just shut up look at it from the perspective that makes sense instead of saying crap

wow what a bunch of bitching little adults 9 million taxpayer dollars please i know more teenagers that have more knowledge and more common sense to know that a corporation like gm and a place like detroit plays a big role in our economy so if we can help other businesses than were helping america every one of us and like they say you have to spend money to earn money and sometimes sacrifices have to be made look at it as a positive instead of a negative and please stop complaining.

like the ad. it gave me chills but sadly its "the all chrysler 200" wich in chrysler terms means "buy our over stocked sebrings with new headligts and rear lights" same body, same chassis, same suspension, same brakes you name it.

I've seen the future my friends and one day we will have a global government.
misterUCSB 1 year ago
@misterUCSB >>We need to start thinking as a whole and as citizens of this planet<<
Then whose laws do we have to follow or go to jail? What about people who disagree with the laws because they have different cultures? Jail them? Where do we run to then when our new World-Country gets taken over by tryants? When our new World-Government gets corrupt? If we really thought as you do, then we need to invade all countries wherever we see injustice allowed. We'd invade US communities for that, no?
happystance6able 1 year ago
@misterUCSB>>citizens of the world<<
There are many for whom a Citizen-of-the-World affectation puts them one-up on those of us who are just grateful to be Americans, and to enjoy a freedom that is all too rare in other countries around the world, even at this late date in human history. Such people think the United States is somehow on trial, and needs to prove itself to others by bending over backwards. But bending over backwards does not win friends. It loses respect, including self-respect.

Indeed!
happystance6able 1 year ago 9
This is awesome! A $9 million dollar ad paid for by you, the taxpayer. These guys, by the way are requesting more taxpayer dollars. They want more money and they want a "better deal" on the bailout money they're already getting. The owners of Chrysler are sick of you loan-shark, taxpaying shysters who haven't given them the favorable rates they think they're entitled to.That's "what they do", indeed. LOL The Democrats pols in Detroit are like that too.
happystance6able 1 year ago 20
Once upon a time, photo-journalists used to document famous landmarks in European cities destroyed by the ravages of war. No bombs had to drop on Detroit. No, all it took was generations of liberal Democrat "leadership". That's what they do INDEED! It's called the "Liberal Bomb". Very destructive. Very powerful. More powerful than any conventional explosive. LOL
happystance6able 1 year ago 19
Awesome, slick, high-style ad that takes $9 million dollars of taxpayer money to tell us that a ruined city that is attracting the kind of French photo-journalism today that used to be reserved for African Banana Republics after a civil war; we're now being told "This is the model for America in the 21st Century" "This is what we do". Great message! Great ad! Very funny! LOL
happystance6able 1 year ago 20
@happystance6able Everyone says it cost $9 million dollars to produce. Taxpayer money. Really? Source on that?
Point being, everyone in the country is talking about this advertisment. It was the hit of the game. People remember it. People are impressed with the image, the message and that sells cars. It's called an investment. I learned that in a class called Econ 101, about 47 years ago. Try to catch up. Learn something and stop trying to be a smart ass.

"Chrysler Assets Said to Have Little Net Proceeds for Creditors" by Mike Ramsey and Tiffany Kary - June 23, 2009 Bloomberg
happystance6able 1 year ago 3
@scrufferdog As a result of past Chrysler decisions taxpayers had no say in, on June 10, 2009, Obama forced taxpayers to finance the sale of most of Chrysler assets to "New Chrysler", formally known as Chrysler Group LLC. $6.6 billion in tax dollars were paid to the "Old Chrysler", a new company called Old Carco LLC set up to take over the remaining assets and liabilities, which remained in Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

Don't impose your preferences on others! If American automakers aren't making what people want and need, then they are their own the problem. You sound like you don't know about the GM Jobs Bank. Why the hell should anybody who wants to fork out a load of money for a new car, also have to pay for this shit as well??:

Lets open up the economy unfairly and make your industry go broke, even though its important to the nation.
Lets see how you like it.
Level playing field? It hasnt been one ever.
The japs have always had high tarrifs and have manipulated their currency to make their car cheaper.
Every Automobile making nation has helped its car industry.

Yeah, blame it on the democrats. I'm waiting for the republicans to set everything in the world right. Lemme know when that happens. That said, if Chrysler could makes cars to the same level of quality as this commercial, they might never have been in dire straights.
nadsat 1 year ago
@nadsat >>I'm waiting for the republicans to set everything in the world right<<
Nobody can do that, but to hear Democrats speak, you'd think they could. No matter how good things are, a Democrat will always point to something tragic or not good and tell you that's why you have too much freedom; if you'd just give up more freedom, that Democrat would eradicate tragedy from life or eliminate that thing which is wrong. Isn't that what they're always saying? You'd thing they knew everything.
happystance6able 1 year ago
@nadsat >>Yeah, blame it on the democrats<<

The problem was never the workforce or engineering .
5-6 years ago gas was around 4$ a gallon , but management was still focusing on trying to sell full size pickups and s.u.v-s.
The problem was the disconnect between upper class and the average consumer .
