The only bad thing about DAoC was that it ruined all other MMO's. Nothing out now takes the quick thought or skill that 8v8 required.

I miss this game so much. there was a feel to it, like a flavor, that unmistakable and lent itself to PvP/RvR spectacularly. In no other MMO is mass combat as easy to follow and participate in with a community so small you knew each enemy by their gear-set...or by how long it took them to kill you.

this game looks so bad by today's standards that i can hardly tell what's going on. also, did the game auto follow after selecting a target? his char was amazing at following players. if that's the case, where's the skill in being a melee class?

@annslow41 it would take too long to explain why everything works the way it does... it did though and still does and is way more balanced than any of the "PvP" games of recent years... trust me on this one ;)

also the fact that you don't know what's going on has nothing to do with the graphics.. that's just the nature of an MMO...

@goruu No idea, but im trying it for myself, im gonna do the trial, sounds like a overall solid game, people on youtube say the RvR pvp is the best around, and that it actually takes skill.

@goruu It doesnt LOOK good, becuase you hae to PLAY it to get a real feel. Its so awesome becuase you can just bump into a random group and have a massive fight in the middle of nowhere :D.

What the heck is everyone doing? :) you run around for ages without targetting something, arrowing and what not. And those albs? they stand there like "oh no i dont have purge, and when i do get demezzed i just nuke some random guy" :)

there is a freeshard private server called uthgard for this game now.Check it out if you dont have the money to pay monthly..... you could also try out Minions of Mirth :)

DAoC classic isn't dead!!! Uthgard Freeshard is classic and pre-ToA it's free to play and has a strong player base with active GM's

@VonClown because 10years ago when the game got released the grafic was great (compared to other rpgs in this time )and if u once started to play a mmorpg serious , you never realy stop :) in my case for example i payd a acc for more then 6-8years and even today long time after i stoped daoc iam still watching vids of it :D

@Burnz2much Daoc is really not the same as it was 3-4 years ago. Everyone is high realmrank and ultra elite players only. Unless you have a really good setup with semi hgih realm ranks you have no chance really.

I would suggest playing RIFT. I actually enjoyed it, feels like a mix of Warhammer, Wow and Daoc

@tosselina So I went back to see how the game was going, you and I both forgot about the BG's! You do not need to be max lvl with uber gear to play the game, the BG's are usually full from what I hear, well at least Thid, Molvik and a couple others. Hell after playing WoW for a couple years now, Thidranki alone has more excitement, fun, replay value and balance then all of PvP WoW combined. :)
