The only difference may be that the women are now paid to be exploited. Males will lead females since they are directional and linear. That means if the majority of males desire subservient females, the females already feel pressure to fit into that description to feel loved. If males don't know how to love women for who they are as people (not sex objects), it's easy for women to convince themselves that it's normal being exploited.
