my dad is from the Dominican Republic, his parents are from Spain.

I speak Spanish like Penelope Cruz,

and prefer that Spanish than Latin American Spanish.

I do think it's ridiculous how Latin Americans sit here and say they speak Spanish BETTER than THE Spanish. So, I guess Americans speak better English than the Brits?

Spanish as language is the same, the only difference is the accent and of course words that are common from each country. It is a very general statement, all Latin American countries have different accents and in Spain you can also find so many dialects and so many accents.

I am Dominican, living in NYC and I actually speak spanish and english quite well. No. I'm a "so called" Black American, but I've done a considerate amount of study on the matter.

You're looking at it from a political point of view. Corporations such as The Census Bureau just groups anyone that speaks Spanish (because of the difficulty of distinguishing all hispanic races) as a Hispanic. If Spanish was my primary language they'd classify me as a Hispanic by thinking im a Dominican or sumthin.

Spaniards are Europeans. White men and women that speak spanish.
