@cycoboy817 - Factory Farms are one of the biggest contributors to pollution and most people who eat a lot of meat buy factory farmed meats. If you ate free range meats instead you could be more environmentally friendly without being vegetarian but most people can't afford free range. You sound very ignorant.
@cycoboy817 So if someone gives you a logical, factual reply, they're all of a sudden a "spammer"? I see how you try to win arguments, that's pretty cheap.
@sheerterror77 No, it's just that the last 4 or 5 comments were yours besides one of mine.... and I actually saw something about energy the other day on T.V., makes sense why.... spending more energy then what we are actually consuming.... I still don't plan on becoming a vegan tho. It's interesting...
@sheerterror77 Studies suggest that being vegetarian actually does more harm to the environment than eating meat. The Cranfield University study found that switching from British-bred beef and lamb to meat substitutes imported from abroad such as tofu and Quorn would increase the amount of land cultivated, raising the risk of forests being destroyed. There's a wonderful article in The Mail Online :)
@MyOwnGuitarHero LIES you're just saying that cause yo be done fat. haha just kidding. But I highly doubt that. What the fuck is Cranfield University anyways? Why would it increase the amount of land cultivated? They cut down forests for meat grazing land all the time and certain vegetables have more protein and less water waste per acre than meat does. If you consider the pollution aspect you could also think of pollution generated per quantity of nutritional value gained.
Also, what do you think all those factory farmed animals are fed? Oh, soy beans and crap! So you have to produce soy to produce meat, rather than taking soy protein straight to humans.
