How Video Games Can Make Kids Better People

I've played video games since I was 4, which was 19 years ago. The number of digital beings I have hurt or maimed in that imaginary world is pretty substantial, but does that desensitize me to violence?

A few weeks ago I saw a small mammal get struck by a car, and came extremely close to throwing up. Violence in real life is a different matter all together, and we understand that.

B4 I used to play games like NFS, Solitaire, Spiderman & GTA, Then I switched to FPS games like BF2, COD 4, COD MW2, BFBC2.... BF3 (Pre-ordered)

I found myself addicted to them, and my interest towards war and guns.......

Now after my 12th I am planin to join INDIAN ARMY :D

I've played video games all my life and have never felt anger about it even when playing violent video games i dont go out and falcon punch people lol. Im real open a little shy but i have lot of friends. It gives me a since of imagination and laughs when im playing with my friends. And when im upset i find it easier to become happy when im laughing with my friends over halo reach lol.

some gamers might find this interesting this girl in my state who is like 20-30 now had kids she let them stay at their cousins for a week they played fps the whole time and when they got back and they told her what games they played she looked up games that they played was as she said "disgusted" and banned them from watching violent TV playing any game violent or not and even forbid them from playing with toy weapons of any kind and then divorced by husband and he got the kids a weekend pass.

ive been playing fps since i was 2 years old starting with rainbow 6 my dad always sat beside me and explained to me what is wrong and right. i am 13 years old of age now and i believe that because i was exposed to this violence and explained what was going on in the game that it has made me a better person today i play games like gta and counter strike and i know that real life violence is bad and that video game violence is just for pretend. thats how i think vilolence should be exposed.

in coin arcades i have seen the opposite effect and the fact people have paid to play somethign which is not exactly regulated makes them hostile if something happens to their credit. I have seen adults physically assault young kids who pressed the buttons on there machine by mistake and this is how it makes them react. I have personally seen what bad effect coin operated video games and fruit machines have on people. they seem to raise assaultive behaviour in some subjects

If video games cause violence it's because

the child is spoilt and have had violent video games infleunce them from an early age

The reason teenagers or adolescents are violent when gaming isn't because of the game; these people are naturally violent and when they play competitive games like FPSs they will get frustrated. Their naturally violent tendencies will kick in after all this frustration. Later on they will act normally. If the kid is agressive all the time even without the video game

I've casually played vid games most of my life-never got any violent tendencies (could be because my hormones are dif since I'm a girl but who knows). If you leave out the certain need I have to get in a fight to protect somebody's honor...

Violence and video games have little to no relation. Only time a video game actually effects someone is if they are mentally ill prior. As for another reason, people are hostile and stuff on games because thats just how it is. But in real life, they usually dont care and get along. I argue with my friends all the time on games, then were all back to normal if were in person. These studies need evidence instead of dumbass statements

kids don't become more violent because of games, games are how they simply suppress their hurt and spend time not focusing on what makes them upset. when they are allowed to use that as the only coping mechanism taking it away from them or if its not enough will result in as much violence as taking a stuffed animal from a kid. i mean have you seen the video of the WoW kid tryna shove a remote up his butt, yeah to those levels

It's actually not a good idea to make them watch TV as, whilst in a video game it is critical to keep focus and use tactics AKA logic, watching TV turns most of the brain off because those watching it are not doing anything to provoke thought, other than simply watching and having a simple understanding of a storyline.
